Done a bit of digging.

Dual nationality, listed as holding an English passport, and believed to come from the Leeds area which fits in with the 90 mins travel rule. Can't make out how he's ended up with us. The English passport comes in very handy for the homegrown players rule.

Believed to have trained with the u18s and played one game, Watford away as it was a Saturday morning and we listed a 'trialist'. You watch the YouTube footage and we did have a tricky right winger that day. That might have been our undoing as there were a few scouts there to watch a Watford lad called Sikiru.

Just on Semedo. He dropped off the radar after the untimely death of his wife but there is a J V M Semedo on the list of Sporting's academy staff and also within the national youth set up.

It could be the other way round in that Jose is trying to pinch him from us.

Pretty sure you said he’s the “worst footballer I’ve ever seen” 😂

Yep. At times last season, he’d go whole games knocking 10 yards passes 20 yard short, controlling the ball out of play from the centre circle, and giving away a free kick every time the ball went near him 😂😂🤣.

But, then he has games where he’s easily the most effective attacker on display. And he does it in the big games. Plymouth at home, Peterborough at home in front of a big crowd where he’s unplayable at times.

What I’ve noticed is that he’s lost weight, that’s had a positive impact too.

They're fooking apoplectic down at the New York. Even some of the more reasoned ones are murmuring that it's time for Stewart to sell up if he can't tie players down and at least get a fee

Can't think of anyone who might recommend us to Ogbene.   😇

Must be the Wednesday link as they’d seemed resigned to him going in January when that didn’t happen.

Stewart's an Owl isn't he?

Was supposed to be at the time he took over.

Whilst I don't expect them to be doing cartwheels at the thought of another of their successful players joining us, they need to be careful what they ask for. As an outside observer, I'd say Stewart has been sensibly successful there. He's run them reasonably within their means whilst giving them some enjoyable promotions.  Competing in a league that contains multiple Prem failure payment winners without taking substantial risks might be a lot harder, though they managed it this time.

Football League World reporting we're after a loan move for Arsenal's Brooke Norton-Cuffy. 19 year old right back who spent 21/22 at Lincoln then last season at Rotherham then Coventry. Played the majority of games for both clubs including the playoff run in for Cov.

He's good, extremely good for his age, which is why he's being sent out and not languishing in Arsenal's u21s. If Coventry had been promoted they would have tried to buy him.

He won't be coming to fill a squad place though. Both he and Arsenal will be expecting a starting role otherwise there's no point in being here, career progression wise. Which leaves the question where would Palmer fit in?

If Arsenal are also thinking of placing him here then they'll be thinking we'll be pushing top 8-10. They won't put him in team nudging relegation. That's why they pulled him from Rotherham

Yes he's excellent. Be absolutely perfect for us. I think he's got the technical ability to play in few positions

My Rotherham season ticket holder mate says:

Ogbene

Good on his day but very poor final ball. I am not too fussed about him leaving I think we can do better

Brooke Norton-Cuffy

Talented lad and no doubt will play in Prem league if he continues to progress ,still a bit raw but capable particularly going forward and is comfortable and pretty effective taking people on . Obvious he has been schooled at Arsenal but can overplay at times and defensively a bit naive . He seemed to suit Coventry more than us tbh .

The Non League defender who spent much of last season training with us, looks like he's signing

If we sign him then we shouldn't be hanging him out in u21s. He's played 39 games of first team football last season.

Sign him then ship him straight out on loan to National or National North to see if he can step up. He'll learn nothing with the kids and won't get anywhere near the first team unless we have a massive injury crisis.

Taken from SkySports Website... Interesting development

Premier League clubs can sign up to four players who fail to meet the Home Office's requirements for visas, in new rules announced by the FA.

The old rules saw Premier League teams unable to sign any players who failed to meet the Governing Body Endorsement (GBE) points threshold.

That points total was based on the senior and youth international appearances for the incoming player, the quality of the selling club and the standard of league they come from, as well as the number of career minutes.

Failure to meet that threshold meant the UK Government would block the transfer.

However, new rules have said that Premier League clubs can sign up to four players who fail to meet the standard. Championship clubs will also be allowed four players, while League One and League Two clubs get two of these signings.

We maybe in for another Northern Ireland keeper.

Luke Southwood is apparently on our radar after an impressive season on loan at Cheltenham where he played every minute. He's turned down a new contract at Reading and becomes a free agent on July 1st.

Been getting good reviews. Wouldn’t we have to pay compensation though if Reading wanted to keep him?

He's out of contract on July 1st and there's no extension clause. Reading offered him a new contract even though they've two other keepers under contract because they're trying to sell at least one, possibly both, to get the wages off the books.

Err...    I wonder how this will fare now.  Worked with DM at Donny and again with us this season.  There's also the matter of whether the new manager will want him or any of the players that DM wanted to join us or stay with us.
