It might become more competitive over the next three years if they continue to bring in the better talent but, compared to Europe, it's a pub league. Ronaldo's team have been battered 5-0 by Celta Vigo and 4-1 by Benfica in recent games. They only drew 0-0 with PSG because PSG they're are trying to get rid of Mbappe and we're trying to make the standard look good. A continuously on the bench Kalvin Phillips will still be fitter and more tuned into the game than a playing every minute Jordan Handerson.
