MAL Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 The story doesn't add up though pal. He's said Carbone is leaving a role he actually left in 2011. Carbone is assistant at Azerbaijan now. Quote

KrolMong Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 That Italian coaches record is appalling. His average tenure at each club is not even 12 months. If we end up with him, it’s time to give up. 1 Quote

Laceups Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 Dean Smith’s odds have narrowed. I’d be satisfied with him. Quote
Hirstys 12th Pint Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 My choices are ..... Experienced UK Option - Dean Smith Unknown Euro Option - Vitor Campelos Left Field Option - Brian Barry-Murphy Quote
Paul from Wisewood Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 He’ll just appoint who blows the most smoke up his arse Quote
80s Owl Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 Lets face it unless it's Pep some won't be happy with whoever is selected, piggys were not happy with Heckingbottom and look what happened there, we just have to back whoever it may be. 2 Quote

HoylandOwl Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 The Star are saying Beni Carbone has chucked his hat in for the job, never mind being assistant to the other geezer. No shock there, I suppose. Quote
owl71 Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 Iachini has got four different teams promoted from Serie B to Serie A. That’s the good news. The bad is the last time was 2014. Given that DC appointed Jos and Pullis, it sounds plausible. A guy who would’ve been an exciting appointment a decade ago, whose star has slightly waned, who convinces Chansiri he’s still got he’s still got it. If we offer him a shit basic and massive bonuses for playoffs or automatic then who knows. Quote
owl71 Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 Had to Google him though, so must be someone else. Quote

Tank_Owl2,0 Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 So he’s a 3-5-2 advocate from reading that article. However quite defensive, I didn’t think DC liked defensive. Theres nothing in that article that endears me to the Italian bloke. Quote

Laceups Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Smith now favourite on sky bet. Slaven Bilic name appears in the frame too. Quote
HoylandOwl Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Have talks started with Smith? Football Insider say so, according to this. Quote
Gamblor Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 I’m not sure about Smith, he did well at Villa and before that at Brentford, but he did have Jack Grealish and Brentford’s recruitment department to help with both, neither or which we have. Since then, things haven’t looked too good. Quote
Laceups Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Smith would be my choice and didn’t think we’d be able to afford him to be honest with his back room staff too. Quote
owl4ever1867 Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Happily take Smith over some of the utter garbage that has popped up Quote

Otto_Man Posted June 27, 2023 Author Posted June 27, 2023 I was desperate for Smith to be our manager when he was Brentford gaffer and thought he was unlucky at Villa, but I work with a load of Norwich fans and to a man they hated him. Said the football was dire, which is a worry 😭 Quote
Laceups Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 The football wasn’t shite at Brentford or Villa. Norwich had just had a reality check and were/still are struggling to recover. Smith would be a solid appointment in this division with a good back room team. We will probably end up with Ince!!! 1 Quote
Beaconowl Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Personally, I would be happy with Smith. Ever since he was at Brentford I had hoped he would come to us. Solid signing, if he does get the job. Quote

Tank_Owl2,0 Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 I don’t we will know until DC gives the thumbs up for something to go on social media and the club website. Smith has got to be worth a crack. He might also have the PL contacts to bring players in that we need. As for JT, let’s just say I’d prefer he didn’t come here Quote
