  1. 50 years, half a century, where has that time gone. I remember thinking how great it was both winning and the celebrations. The following few years put that in perspective! It was my first game as well. I’d been pestering my Grandad and Uncle for ages to take me. Maybe they knew it might not be a good move having experienced years of ups and downs themselves. Although my Grandad did see us win at Wembley. I wonder what kind of money we have spent on tickets etc in that 50years?
  2. SAG must be driving a hard bargain over the tickets for the LL, maybe worried some backlash from the Geordies 🤣
  3. I agree, Byers wasn’t the only one that wasn’t at the fitness levels needed in this league. A good pre season might mean he can be at least a good squad player for next season. However, if his fitness and athleticism isn’t what it needs to be then it’ll be best for all if he moves on, but he has been at times a joy to have at the club with some very good performances.
  4. Can you provide some facts on what DC has lied about? And don’t quote the HMRC bill, that wasn’t a lie, that was him pointing out the scale of the finances that are involved in keeping SWFC as a going concern. Whilst he did appoint XM I don’t recall too many mourning DM being let go and. Coach that had recently won promotion from the Championship being brought in, hindsight is a wonderful thing but not the basis for saying someone made the wrong decision at a moment in time.
  5. Does he support Brum, Huddersfield, Blackburn, Stoke etc 😉
  6. Nah I don’t think he said that about DM. He did says some positive things but not that.
  7. Great result and professional performance today. I can see Huddersfield having a reaction and beating Brum. 4point from the last 2 and we will almost certainly be safe even with our GD. 2 & 3pts could be enough, but we definitely need something from the last 2. Huddersfield and Brum can’t both lose, so 47pts with our GD isn’t good enough. I personally think 3 will be enough and think we can win one of the last 2 but we know this is Wednesday.
  8. Ok, presumably the National League weren’t happy with this situation? So they should have known this could be an issue and given time to resolve it. As for deterring unscrupulous landlords, maybe start with stopping unscrupulous owners 😂
  9. I’m not talking about margin, I’m talking did the officials make an obvious mistake. Otherwise it’s binary, ie it is or it isn’t. However I recognise the binary is easier than the more subjective did they make an obvious error that a human should have spotted. United didn’t deserve that after Covs comeback.
  10. I disagree. It was pretty much level. VAR was brought in to correct clear and obvious errors not hairline offsides like that. And it would be funny for Utd to lose from leading 3-0.
  11. I have zero sympathy for the fat cat clubs complaining about replays etc when they have such huge resources and squads. If that’s why this has happened.
  12. I agree. And tbh, you only have to look at our attendances when we were in the PL to understand how complacency in thinking you’ll always be in PL can catch up with you. Not saying that will happen to Chelsea but I’m sure there’ll be plenty of their supporters that think they have the rite to be in the top six every season and expect to beat a team in the bottom six.
  13. #football in a library, 4-0 and you could hear a pin drop. PL prawn sandwich brigade.
  14. I don’t know but my guess it was the lino in front of the south stand, he both let some of theirs go when they were offside and called ours off when they weren’t - from my position in the North.
  15. We can’t blame our position this season on the officiating today but I definitely think there was bias today, just the subtle enough to fly under the assessor radar. The goal that was disallowed was bollox, you see centre halves pretending to be pushed all the time. Ugbo had the same situation in the 2nd but didn’t make contact with his head, so the ref didn’t give anything ( not that there was anything to give) - guess what would have happened if he had connected and scored. As for the letting them time waste and the added injury time it was joke. Insult to injury was not getting a pen for the hand ball to then see him give handball a few minutes later that was even less accidental by Pol. The number of fouls compared to ours also tells a story. Johnson get the ball and had no real follow through but gets booked in what we the first foul of any significance I can recall, but by this stage they’d fouled our players 6 or 7 times in the first 30-35mins. Then the debacle with their keeper flattening their defender when we had the ball on the edge of their box, so he gives the ball to them just about sums it up. If it’s not bias he was very inconsistent, either way he can go #&£@*+
  16. Tough one today, not exactly a repeat of Swansea but almost the same in terms of performance and result. I thought today we were even more dominant and deserved our goal, but just ran out of steam. Like others have said it probably needed changing earlier but DR knows the fitness of the players better than we do. The combination of not scoring enough and the debacle of the first 10 games is now what is pulling us back. Even 4 or 5 points from the first dozen games would mean we don’t have the do or die pressure which I feel is starting to weighing hard on these players, plus add into it players like Fletcher and Hendrick as summer signings contributing absolutely nothing to the squad. Its not over but it feel like we need some other results to go our way now, unlike todays and last night. Whilst today was never going to be terminal, if we don’t win next week I think it will be over even if it isn’t mathematically, because WBA will be tough like Norwich were and unless their playoff position is confirmed (looking unlikely) they will still have something to play for. its a massive shame given the effort put in since DR came in and the prospect of L1 AGAIN is just awful for a club with our tradition and fan base.
  17. I can’t see this phase being a big seller as things stand. I suspect those that would renew come what may will have done so already, but if you are wanting to see which league we are going to be in - not now.
  18. What team selection do you think DR will go with for tomorrow? I think the goalie is about the only certainty. I think Icky, Bannan and Smith are likely but DR shown he will rotate all of them when necessary.
  19. Indeed. I suspect he won’t say that because it might give the opposition less to consider.
  20. The Foxes front two just not getting anything out of the Plymouth defence. Vardy to come on 2nd half and save if for them? Plymouth are getting more into this
  21. Be interesting to see how Leicester respond now, excellent goal from the Plymouth lad though. I feel they are overplaying it, too many passes. We’ll see I guess.
  22. Hopefully after our come back against Norwich and understanding the significance of the game supporters will be a bit restrained with any booing and be more supportive, notwithstanding if we are 3 down in 20mins that would be difficult. I really hope Ugbo and Bernard are available to play some part tomorrow. Whilst Poveda would be great to have in the squad a) caution has to be exercised given the way it’s gone for him and b) I’ve a feeling its going to be a 100mph battle which might not be a good idea to play him in if he’s not 100%
  23. Presumably the stir will have a massive spread on this story and RS will have a live stream about it - no?
