  1. Self inflicted. Windass is barely in the game. Four centre backs on the pitch isn’t helping the passing out.
  2. I was thinking something similar yesterday, to say it’s cosy on that concourse is to be put a positive spin on it. As you say MK I wouldn’t necessarily criticise it, but it is a stadium that highlights some of the inconsistencies in how stadia and safety is handled across the leagues and clubs. Re the game, I felt we would get something, so happy with getting 3points. A real shame about Poveda, he gives us something different to the power and pace of our other forward looking players. I though Smith had a great game yesterday, some good touches and a nuisance to them all day. I expect a slightly different selection on Tuesday with potentially Pol back for Iorfa and may be Pederson for Famewo. Wouldn’t be surprised to find Vaulks to start. A point on Tuesday and a win next weekend would be a very good return for the final few games to come.
  3. I think we will get something from this, maybe only a point but something. DR will get a reaction.
  4. Both can be true, ie they did admin and have had good planning and progressive approach. Id also say a very good manager given a relatively free hand to do what he thinks best on the football front with sensible but not stupid investment.
  5. Still think it was better than the Gazza free-kick, both were excellent though. For one thing, the Arsenal wall was a joke. Id have him taking dead ball kicks now!
  6. He seems to have done a great job with Ipswich but as you say that would be very brave to put him straight in as the top man. Could he be drafted in with a prospect of him getting it down the line, a bit like the scousers did with the succession from Shankly, Paisley etc.
  7. You’ve described it better than me but that’s exactly my thinking at the minute. I don’t know if DR will be that pragmatic, unless the likes of Chris Powell will be saying this. Let’s hope Ipswich are still in the running for the top 2 or champions by the last game, we don’t need them to be resting players etc.
  8. Interesting you’ve gone with Smith and Ugbo. We know Smith has his limitations but DR has said previously how Ugbo can work better off a player like Smith. Im not convinced the pairing of Ugbo and Cadamateri works well despite the undoubted pace, particularly away from home.
  9. But who does he change it for? Not particularly disagreeing with you btw, but there are some that aren’t good enough, some just aren’t going to be match fit either because they’ve not played (Hendrick) or carrying injuries (Iorfa/ Poveda). Yes there is a group more than 15/16 that are in full training but it’s hard to see any/many that DR can utilise to change things. The left back / left wing back is a problem (as we’ve known for a long time) and the centre midfield and more generally the midfield doesn’t give a back four enough cover when we don’t have the ball and isn’t creative enough if we go with the likes of Palmer in there. So yes change it but how.
  10. I only saw the first half, but it was enough to know things didn’t look like we were likely to get anything, even though their goal was slightly fortunate. As some have said and AB points out we did have chances to score before they did and it could have made a difference and given them something to fight for. From what you’ve all said, it sounds like the 2nd half wasn’t good. I’m struggling to believe it was as bad as XMs tenure but I also think the players looked proper crest fallen after not winning on Friday. Getting out of the bottom 3 on Friday might just have given them that bit of belief to fight that 5% more. Clearly it not all done yet but the signs don’t look good. A mini run of points from wins and draws in the next couple or three is essential. So I think whilst I absolutely understand DRs intent about trying to win games a bit of pragmatism and making games tight for 70mins might be what’s needed at least against QPR/ Norwich. Too many players that are as others have said luxuries, eg Musaba (don’t get me wrong the lads get potential in the right team). And with the ability to make so many substitutions it’s not out of the question to change things, even though there’s no certainties in football it’s clear a change of plan during the game can work and has under DR. However, it’s hard to see what team selection could actually achieve that given the deficiencies of some and injuries of others. Huddersfield look like they are really struggling it’s whether we can get enough to pass them and Plymouth. I still think we need 3 wins, which after today it’s hard to see which of our remaining games we could do that in. Stoke maybe, West Brom (if they rest most of their best players) but that will be tough, maybe Sunderland they’ve nothing to play for, I suspect QPR will be too much for us, Norwich might be very nervous but they’re also 6th for a reason and let’s hope Blackburn have sealed their safety and have their flip flops on. It feels like DR is going to have to pick them up akin to what DM did last season for the playoff 2nd leg
  11. I know what you mean but I’d rather he plays in 6games than 10mins of 1 game if you see what I mean. I suspect DR will have him on the bench to bring on if we need a goal.
  12. I’m not hopeful, but only on the basis we generally don’t do much up in smoggyland. I’ve never been to Ayresome Park or Riverside and seen us win. Let’s hope it’s one of those red letter days and we at least get a point. If there’s any doubt on Poveda I would keep him back for the home games.
  13. He was very poor today I thought and if he hadn’t been watching the game it would have been offside (as well as handball).
  14. As you say good to see those two back, we need every player available. Poveda is going to be a big miss but there's not point rushing him back for these next two games if he might break down for the run in.
  15. Someone needs to have a quiet word with him to salvage whatever lasting respect he’s got left with fans from his days playing for us.
  16. Ah but yes but no. You just know them with the pitchforks will still find a reason to criticise. Some folk just love to complain. Lets hope it’s a game we can be putting distance between us and the bottom 3 by then.
  17. Imagine the stir breaking an article like that with 8 games of the season to go. It’s almost like they want to cause some unrest. Fecking rag.
  18. It’s everywhere though isn’t it, like that garbage on salaries in the Championship. Some people just think if it’s on Facebook, X, Insta etc it must be right. Even the more reputable news sites can be misleading in only telling you what they want you to hear. Tbh I’ve just become cynical about anything online these days and why it’s there, ie what the angle.
  19. Can’t see Poveda being on that and you’d assume we will be paying quite a slice of his actual wages. I doubt we are that high up the wages table but I also think we are higher up than the 1867 group would let anyone think DC has agreed to. Overall it seems a lot of poor guesswork
  20. Did you misspell appalling? 😉
  21. The intent is noble enough but there are other ways. Why not have an on demand bond that any new owner has to take out if they crash the club. The other issue is stopping the wrong owners, which is on them EFL/ PL) but they won’t will they.
  22. Saw this on social media. Tbf it does have a big caveat attached to it. Id be surprised if some of the individual numbers are correct
  23. I was only able to watch the first 35mins yesterday and have since seen the highlights. Let’s face it (whether we like it or not) Ipswich put in one of the best performances we’ve seen this season against us. So, whilst once we were 3 down chins dropped but I also think every Ipswich player was at least a 9/10. These last two games were always going to tough, but the next 8 are the games we need to compete in and I think we need at least 5 wins or 15points to be sure to stay up, ie keep the points coming in at the rate that DR has managed to collect since he’s instilled his methods. I rate our likelihood/ chance of staying up at 40%, but that’s way better than it was in October. Did DR get his selection and tactics “wrong” well losing 6-0 would suggest so, but Ipswich playing like they did I think would have seen them win almost whatever he did, just may not conceding six. btw I wonder where they got that Australian midfielder he looked decent, would have slotted nicely in our team 😒
