Sounds like positive news about Momo. sorry to hear about big Dom bc I feel he has been one of our better players if not perfect he’s been good at times when we’ve been poor.

Didn’t they ask DR about a big wages striker yesterday and he basically glossed over, which suggests it might be something they are working on

Im reading this while watching a Youtube vid of The Cramps on The Tube 1986, seems something of a contrast!

We rarely get anything from Stoke and even more so at Norwich. So, if we get a point there, its a bonus. As mentioned before, wins at home to QPR and Cardiff would be a huge boost to our position before the Jan window even if we are still going to be adrift of safety. It will give potential incoming signings a feeling that we could do it.

Just watched it back on Sky, that was never a pen in a million years. Just as well Dawson saved it.

I agree. I think he was steady in L1 but probably just no big enough or fast enough for the Championship. Good luck to him though.

ANY home draw is the best draw, after that anything else is a bonus, eg an attractive opponent. After our last two performances we shouldn’t fear Cardiff. It’ll be interesting to see what DRs approach to this will be.

I think you’d take that draw before it was done. Southgate has no excuses for us not getting to the business end of this competition.

Really enjoyed that. Sure there things we can do better but overall the spirit and application was very good. For once we got we deserved (in a positive sense). Good to see Bailey get a goal, but whilst he was good I don’t think he was MoM. Real shame to see big Dom have to leave the pitch so early. For me he has been one of the better players all season. Hopefully he was came off before any major damage was done. Palmer was poor today and was guilty of ball watching for their goal. Someone on RS said they thought Dawson should have saved their headed goal, that seems very harsh to me. I thought their lad took the header very well, right in the bottom corner. Although as I said Palmer should have been defending that. Full marks to Josh for finishing the game with our third goal, that take some doing and he did it with aplomb. Finally, others have said it, but I thought Rovers were one of the better teams I’ve seen this season which seems a bizarre statement given what we’ve endured this season. They made some fast and smart passing patterns.

Going to be interesting if we can keep the performances coming, or its going to be after the high of Wednesdays late equaliser we cant perform again. Not losing today would still be progress, but IF the slender hope of survival is going to be grasped its wins that will change the feel of the place.

Lets be reyt we werent brilliant against PNE but it it was harsh on the team we lost that fixture. Said already, this league isnt stuffed with top quality, but there are a few teams and players that are difficult to beat. A decent Championship quality striker that can get 15-20 goals and we would be comfortable. I mean apart from the fact that XM was clueless, DR could have us in touch with the Huddersfield if hed started the season depsite our poor signing/ squad.

It’s a good question MK, one which I’m sure many will be wondering if we don’t survive. I feel it is a case of two things, 1) his relationship with DC and the club generally, eg the fans and 2) if he gets any better offers.

As the years go by you realise there are some things that shouldn’t be tolerated and you realise some people are just morons but actually don’t necessarily understand their actions, and I agree somehow the scale of how to punish people for doing stupid things compared to people doing other horrendous things seems to be screwed up. What he did was stupid and I think the response of other supporters reflects the embarrassment.

I guess so but I haven’t seen them this season and unfortunately because of work I won’t see them on Wednesday.

This is the frustrating thing, whilst we are not quite good enough I’d also say the league isn’t that great either. Apart from quality in the Soton team that has now left it’s not that great a division except for the odd loanee that is getting game time for a future in the PL. We are toothless. Fletcher was our one striker that joined us and is absolutely awful, completely ineffective. Its hard to see anything other than relegation but the glimmer of hope is that DR and his coaching team seem to be mustard and with the right investment in January I think it’s still possible we can overcome Rotherham, QPR and Huddersfield. A lot has to click though, I’d say our chance is 25%.

A resounding endorsement of MW intensity in training. I suppose as he says, if you set the expectations it’s not a good idea to then apply those expectations inconsistently. I think as we’ve discussed on here before, we are unlikely to see MW in a startling 11 any time soon unless he suddenly turns over a new leaf. It seems Bailey could be ahead of him for the foreseeable.

Fingers crossed we will see the lad again this season he looks like he could make a difference. Although we know it’s difficult for any player to come part way through the season.

Was there a fleeting glimpse of Momo in amongst the training footage? I could be wrong because it is literally a split second.

I know many on here hate him and I have sympathy with that. I know it’s hypothetical now but I think he would have at least got us in the playoffs if he’d stayed given what fecking Monk managed to do for half a season before we plummeted. Just think he would have convinced DC to go for the last push and may even has got us promoted. Anyway all hypothetical now and absolutely no consolation with what followed even if we did get compo, because we need promotion that season to escape the points deduction. Bringing to the end the optimism of possible promotion to the PL. Having said that we would probably have been in a similar situation to the grunters.
