Maybe BB and JW are injured but I don’t think many would be surprised to find there’s been a fall out as well. Whether you think either of them are important to the team or not, it’s the impact on the team as a whole you’d have to be considerate of, on top of the potential impact of the statement by DC. I can’t see XM quitting, he’ll want a payout. However he might putting himself in a position that’s unsustainable (aside from the results!) that DC might think he has to act if players lack the confidence in him etc. The problem is what DC does then do, given his statement. The last few weeks I’m sure are hurting DC and I don’t think he’ll want to see the club relegated again because it will be seen as a failure that he has presided over. I think some of our fans think DC selects the players in the squad. He’s been clear about that. He has to put faith in his Head Coach/ Manager and if XM has told him the players are good enough and which ones to sign, which surely we have to accept there is a heavy Spanish influence given the signings we’ve seen. Then it gives a different perspective on our predicament, ie it’s a footballing hole dug by XM. Lets hope DC is already looking.

Just when you thought things couldn't get any worse...

On a very basic level who in their right mind thinks someone sat/stood in another stand, 20m+ away is going to be able to see a picture on your phone. Not even some of our numb skulls would think that, would they? I agree with others there is a strong smell of pork, add to that it’s the Sun repotting on it. Im sure there will be some of our fans that aren’t happy with the Mackems for things like beating us in the playoff semi, but they’re not one of the clubs up there as us having grudge against which also doesn’t add up for me. -
Part of the problem is, even if a new manager comes in starts to get some kind of tune out of this squad, who are the 3 worse teams than us?

I’m going to (near) Marbella this weekend with the my mates. The boozer near where I’m staying always have Wednesday on bc the landlords wife is a Wednesdayite. I’ll miss the game I suspect because I don’t land until 9pm (Spanish time) so I might get the 2nd half if she hasn’t switched it off! Im going to ask some of the locals if they know of XM. -
Arry knew a bargain when he saw one. We talk about Waddle and Hirst etc but DiCanio was a bloody treat in his pomp.

Football is a joke these days. The fooking amateur dramatics that goes on these day is embarrassing.

He’s not exactly pulling trees up at Ayr so unless he gets the boot…. -
I’ll be honest I’m struggling to think of anyone that would come to work with the current owner, is available and would be able to turn it around. Somehow can’t see DC paying to bring a manager/ head coach from somewhere else, like he did with DM. So, maybe Warburton is the best we can expect.

A New Group of Attention Seekers

I agree they’ve not got that sort of money or forward income. They would on paper at least seem like a better proposition. -
Sympathy to those making the long trail back. I didn’t watch it today. I’ve already decided the situation needs to change, even though like others I recognised XM needed time given the lateness of his appointment and the squad being put together. At the moment though it’s like watching a slow motion train crash. I don’t think we have a fantastic squad but I do think a good experienced manager that is prepared to be pragmatic could get a tune of the squad we have. DC needs to decide, would you rather have pragmatic football that keeps us in this league or a failed experiment trying to play tipatapa football with a squad that isn’t capable. He also needs to think about what he is prepared to pay for a coach that can change our fortunes. Having said that, I do have a small amount of sympathy for him because of how things turned out when he appointed Bruce and Pulis.

The fan base is divided, certainly compared to when we got the playoff final. DC will probably consider Colin as being a Pulis type figure - won’t he? -
The number of questions they ask that make your eyes roll is increasing weekly. Although I think they find it hard to make much of these press conferences these days. CC may not have been to everyone’s taste but he was generally media friendly.
-
If DM gave hardly anything useful in these press conferences XM gives even less. On the one hand I am ok with it if it gives us an advantage or stops the opposition from learning anything. However there are some things that frankly it would make sod all differences for him to answer the Qs more directly. That all said, I do think fans these days expect more than some of us older supporters that basically had the game and the green’un for our insight on what was happening at the club!

My grandad and I decided we’d go in the North for a change, good decision !

Do you think DC will appoint Colin just to give it the big Vs to his hecklers and the racists? And because he think he will get fast flowing football 😏 -
I’m not advocating Colin, but I do think some managers/ Coaches (like him) can make a mediocre set of players look decent and get the best out of them for a period of time Like Sgt Wilko did in the 80s. DC might want us to play like Barcelona but it’s not going to happen overnight and certainly buying from the bargain bucket. The intriguing bit for me is how far XM is prepared to compromise to get a win - is he capable as well. Still giving him to the end of October, on the proviso DC has someone else lined up to move in straight away if XM can’t do it.

Surely Colin wouldn’t leave them to come to S6. Despite all the jibes and banter down the years I do actually think he has a respect for us. -

On what measure are you saying Delgado did alright? Foul throws? Giving the ball away? Hospital passes to teammates? wayward crosses? Flatters to deceive and seems to be the the coaches favourite. -

It’s so disappointing and at least in part feels self inflicted and a result of one man’s “football knowledge”. On the new players. I like the lack look of Devis and I think in part some of his disappointing kicks/ passes are a result of what the Coach is asking him and the team to do. I like the look of Bernard, I thought he did well when he came on for Iorfa. Never easy to come on like that. I’d say he’s probably an upgrade on what we’ve had and he’s our player. The jury’s out on the deadline day signings, but Buckley looked tidy. Momo looked decent but of course 67mins or whatever it was, is hardly a confirmation of a good signing. As for XM getting his marching orders after Tuesday, I honestly can’t see DC doing it. Unless we get trounced and even then I suspect DC is in agreement that it will take time. It’s whether he becomes sufficiently embarrassed. Thing is, what next. DC has hardly moved quickly to replace “his managers’. -

Agree with you about Famewo, he’s been resilient and at times had to defend while others have been absent or simply just Sh1t. Delgado is a flatters to deceive kind of player for me. The throws are inexcusable for a professional footballer, once could be unfortunate but he was simply incompetent. And a numerous occasions either gave the ball away or gave his team mate a hospital pass. Either give him a run at right back (which I have my doubts about) or take him out of the team. The games are ticking down on XM, I want him to succeed like all our managers but I think we also have to recognise the size of the challenge he’s taken on - at the owners request
