Today/Toneyts Footy thread - Non Wednesday

Players going over to opposition fans to gesture can be termed as incitement. Players have been booked in the past for sprinting the length of the pitch to do it so what's the difference of doing it 70 or 17 yards away?

Fans have been ejected for verbally abusing players but players stay on the pitch when shouting obscenities towards the stands.

Does it sanitise the game? Yes, but top level football has been heading towards 'sports entertainment' for a quite a while now and the PL has an average of 20% tourist fans (averaged across all games). When grounds start to advertise singing sections, Wembley included, it's like choosing whether to go in the quiet carriage on a train.

It’s sticks and stones, playground shit IMO.

have I been annoyed by a player? Absolutely yes, have I spewed a F off in their direction, yes.

Would I slap them for it? Absolutely not.

Boring as fuck and both teams look shit - although I’m sure had we got there we’d have managed to fuck it up against both sides!

Just pisses me off - watching those two sides just makes me think, yet again, that it’s criminal we didn’t go up automatically.

Cheers DM!

Fuckin Ainsworth in his "huddle", god I hope we thump that twat next season...

And if we wander round the pitch scratching our arses because we've been out played by a shit Michael Bolton....well DM can fuckin do one as well...

We have to go for autos.... anything else is complete and utter failure...

Fuck me. If it wasn't bad enough, now Rangers go one up. Cracking goal mind.

Now 2-0

Edit. Sky 951 if anyone interested

What's bad about Sunderland not being in the league next season?

Best result for us without question

Wholeheartedly agree.

We couldn't have asked for a better outcome (with the obvious exception of us being promoted)

Ainsworth won't be there next season. He'll chase a championship job and not give two fucks about them. Akinfenwa has just completed his A licence, though.

Wholeheartedly agree, and said so after the play off semi.  They’ve lost once in 18 or 19 since Neil took over, and that was in his second game in charge.  If they’d not gone up they would almost certainly have strengthened over the Summer as well.  Would’ve been pretty close to one of the automatic spots being spoken for.

Wycombe on the other hand, maybe they’ll have to sell players as a result of not going up this season?

Now we need Derby to still be in administration end of June and start next season with a points deduction.

I mean I think it's pretty clear cut on here but;

Citeh or Scousers - Citeh every time for me

L**ds, Everton or Burnley to go down - Dirty tvvats, again every time. Although Everton would be a laugh

Everton can’t go down mate it’s between weeds and Burnley.
this won’t be a popular opinion but I wouldn’t mind Burnley going down. I’m sick of tin pot clubs in the premier league such as Burnley, Watford, Brighton etc. I’d much rather sit down for super Sunday and watch Forest v Leeds than Bournmouth v Burnley…..

Shows how closely I follow the PL these days, largely ignore it other than the occasional glance at MoD if there's been a particularly good game.
