mkowlthesexynewversion Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 The Varadi goal is a folklore goal where I was in the stadium but never actually saw go in. First goal I ever saw Ken Knighton v Bolton 74 saved us from relegation I will go for another Varadi goal as well v Forest first ever top flight game i saw in 84 Quote
Sheffieldblue Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 Reach, last minute equaliser at Preston, after they had blocked 3 or 4 shots Quote

Skamp Posted April 23, 2022 Author Posted April 23, 2022 Some great goals being mentioned but i wouldn't call many of them 'folklore', a goal that fans still talk about today and the more the goal is discussed, the greater the number of fans that claim to have been there that day. Take Varadi. Absolutely brilliant goal vs Forest, running the full length of the pitch but not talked about anywhere near as much as his goal at Anfield. I was there at Anfield btw. I said I'd be back, and I was. The oldies will understand that. 1 1 Quote
Chelters Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 Definitely would add the Whitton v Boro goal to the list. Was a massive win that day. Quote

owl4ever1867 Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 Not a Wednesday goal but one I've always remembered is a goal at S6 in 1992 by a Chelsea player called Graham Stewart. Picked up the ball in his own half proceeded to carry the ball, took on 3/4 players & put the ball pass Chris Woods at the Kop end. Quote

Tank_Owl2,0 Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 (edited) Some excellent suggestions. i know we won 4-0 in the BDM but Mellors goal that put us on our way was pretty good and I think it raised the home support. Alos what about TC at the stain. soz they are mentioned! Edited April 23, 2022 by Tank_Owl2,0 Quote
Skamp Posted April 23, 2022 Author Posted April 23, 2022 Picked the ball up and ran. That was William Webb Ellis. Quote
