EpworthOwl
Stick your recent gigs detail in here, or any that you are going to. After having tickets for nearly 3 years, we went to see Texas a month ago. Charlene Spiteri was very good, AND very funny, at times it was like watching a comedian. The gig was at the Bonus Arena in Hull, not a bad arena, all seating, we were about 6 rows back, so decent seats. Roadworks around there were a nightmare!! Anyway, they played their first album first in an accoustic set, all sat very close togehter, then opened up the arena and played all their other songs. First gig since lockdown, I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Comiong up, Killers (had tickets for over 3 years), Stone Valley festival, including Boomtown Rats, Stranglers, Stiff Little Fingers, Toyah, Ruts, From the Jam, Bad Manners, Sham 69, The Primatives. Then Crowded House at Scarborough.

Neville Facking Bartos
Took young un to see KSI at O2 academy a month or so back, thought i'd hate it but surprisingly it was OK, he loved it though which was the main thing. I got out of the Stormzy gig for work the other, his mum took him Don;t really get to many nowadays but should Richard Ashcroft do another locally in the future then i'll be there, really good live, saw him at Donny Dome, maybe 5 or 6 years ago. Also saw The Verve in Nottingham about 10 years ago and that was class too

Owling_Wolf
My gigs since I first 'dared' to restart from Covid starting... (All Sheffield unless otherwise stated.) Stonedead (rock) Festival, (airfield outside Newark), delayed from end Aug 2020 to End Aug 2021. Enjoyed it but felt well wierd being in a crowd like that again after so long. Black Stone Cherry, 02 Academy, L**ds. 9/21. (Was 10/20) The Hot Damn! 'Old Sal', Nottingham. 15/10/21. Those Damn Crows, Corporation, 11/11/21. The Dust Coda / The Hot Damn! / Those Wicked Rivers. (All three were excellent.) Billy Bootleggers, Nottingham. 7/12/21. King King, Leadmill, 19/2/22. (This was originally due 8/4/20 when the late Martin Haigh - CDLF - was due to go.) 'An Evening With Halestorm', O2 Academy, 12/3/22. I've seen my favourite American band 4 times before but always a heavy rock, big venue, top of bill night. This more intimate type of show was tremendous: hugely enjoyable. Just them, they started with an hour's accoustic show: first just the singer playing piano, then with the guitarist playing accoustic, then with 'light' rhythm section. They even had a settee on stage, taking the mick out of each other and telling stories, involving the audience. Then went off to shower and change whilst the stage was set up for the 90 mins of full-on rock that followed. I later spoke on Twitter with some of their SERIOUS fans, Americans and Europeans who followed them to every night of this UK tour: they all said that the Sheffield gig was the best of all. Maybe it was because the band had enjoyed being abroad again for the first time in over 2 years; maybe because there was only one more gig to go so they were letting their hair down, but that was just a superb night. As usual they finished with the same encore songs, especially the toasting, 'Here's to us!' Can't wait for the next time!

Owling_Wolf
35 minutes ago, MPB said: Impressive stuff Owlin ....by the way, that airfield outside Newark...is that the one that has the huge antiques fair? From the Stonedead website, pal: "Newark Agricultural Showground Lincoln Road, Winthorpe, Coddington, Newark, NG24 2NY Newark Showground is a showground in Newark, Nottinghamshire. It makes up 200 acres of the former RAF Winthorpe Airfield." There's an aircraft preservation site there, too. In 2019 you had to drive past a Vulcan bomber to get out and they flew an old wartime DC3 'Dakota' around the music crowd on the Saturday afternoon. Last year it was a WW2 fighter. I don't know about the antiques but there's plenty of room and buildings for one: it's huge. I think there's a livestock show, too.

It’s a new venue for me as is the Leeds one - that’s at Brudenell Social Club, which also sounds like it’s a good venue from what I’ve read about it. Persuaded Mrs Cheat to go to BC Camplight (she was “who?”) as the Joshua Radin one is mainly her choice - don’t mind him myself though to be fair. Tylluan
The Brud is a cracking venue. First time I went was to watch my mate's band. They reformed for the club's anniversary year and sold out within a day. Absolute banging night and I don't even really like their music. Good food as well. They do Pieminister pies.
