  1. That was just rubbish. The attacking play was awful If we lose to Middlesbrough, he has to go. Otherwise, its relegation with a record points total. At least the 7 games under Laws that we lost, we looked like we could have got something from those games and were a tad unlucky (bar Ipswich first game and possibly the Burnley game). This sides attacking threat is non existant Pity there's more chance of a club statement about Marvins' mrs than getting rid. We'll have more club statements than points at this rate
  2. Why on earth was there a need to bring Ben Heneghan into this???
  3. Wasn't it Rob Poulter? I travelled that season to a few games with his sister Sara (Chesterfield, Stockport and Grimsby).
  4. Pretty certain we beat Southend United before the Plymouth game. Andre Marriner attempted to put in a performance that almost rivaled his Tranmere Rovers game. Useless for both sides that game (our penalty decision was laughable).
  5. Andy Pearce The same post season, Patrick Andersson left Blackburn Rovers to sign for Borussia Monchengladbach for £50,000 more than what we paid for Pearce. I was surprised we never went for him given there was title aspirations back then as that Blackburn side were a far better outfit than Coventry. I think they replaced Andersson with Ian Pearce who ended up being a gamble paid off from Chelsea. Also, QPR got the better deal from us as they used the Sinton money to sign a young Trevor Sinclair from Blackpool who was getting rave reviews.
  6. Top 6!!!!!!!! Wow There's more chance of turkeys voting for christmas than that side out there finishing top 12 let a lone top 6. It is a dreadful side. Manager will be gone by September if this continues.
  7. I'll give you the first season under Sturrock but not the 2nd. That side was more than capable of finishing a lot higher than it eventually did. That was purely down to the loan signing of Jay Bothroyd. When that twat came in and played every game, it wasn't a surprise we went on a 5 game losing streak, then a 7 game losing streak and that our form only got better once he left. I swear the dressing room wasn't a nice place to be whilst he was here. Yes, many thought it would be a cracking loan signing but it turned out to be one of the worst loan signings we've ever made. I'd rather suffer a loan of Enoch Showumni again as at least he tried, unlike that waster.
  8. Another memory outside of being a manager and a footballer, the day at Brentford in the second leg of the play offs 2005. How much fun did he have trying to do a pundit job whilst having inflatables non stop being thrown at the box they were in. So much fun that was. I think I might throw a couple up there to his resting place tonight Despite his age, he was a superb player for us. So often he would come on and change the game for us. When I hear supporters this day n age moaning about us signing a thirty something, Francis and Viv Anderson were terrific purchases by Ron Atkinson that played a huge part in the most successful Sheffield Wednesday side I'll ever see. RIP Tricky Trev
  9. Good to see that the caretaker manager at Forest Green does not see that job as an insult
  10. I'm trying to work out what would be his best position for you on the left side There were times we played him as a left winger, a left wing back and a left back. His worst performances for us probably was when he was left back. Wimbledon away, Hartlepool at home in particular Left wing, he reminded me of a poor mans Jermaine Johnson. If it wasn't for his pace, he wouldn't be anywhere near that position Left wing back, he did ok but again was unsure whether or not to go forward or stay back defensively. Then again, many of our wing backs struggled last season with that given the success Danny Cowley had on us second half with Portsmouth He's a good squad player for sure but I honestly do not know what would be his best position. Whatever happens, I hope he does well for you.
  11. How Scotland didn't go through that night is still beyond me. They missed a few sitters (Ferguson in particular with his free header), Seaman made a point blank save from Dailly, Adams making a fabulous last ditch tackle to stop Dodds from making it 2, that game was easily the worst ever performance I have seen from an England national team (until we met Iceland under Roy Hodgson). I don't think Sullivan had a save to make that night. He could have had a nap and they wouldn't have troubled his goal. RIP Craig
  12. Steven Gerrard???? I wouldn't worry about that Bells. Whichever bookmaker has offered those odds is either completely deluded or is trapping people that just want to donate money to their bank accounts. There is more chance of Sir Bobby Robson waking from his grave to come and manage The Owls. Gerrard will never ever manage Wednesday knowing what happened to his cousin at Hillsborough.
  13. There's a Fleetwood Town fan who's a brilliant you tuber. Probably the only one I have a lot of time for. Happily watch his videos and reviews. Very honest in his opinions compared to others.
  14. Gary Megsons' being linked with Leeds? They're welcome to have him Still cannot understand why supporters still bang on about Megson and Stuart Gray all the time. It's like they would rather see us play the most boring awful football ever and are happy with going to Stockport County and Cambridge United
  15. Paterson staying on helps us in a number of ways. He can cover a number of positions, has a great attitude, doesn't go hiding on the football pitch and can score goals as well. Definitely the sort of professional that you want round at the club.
  16. Are we allowed to say Carlton Palmer?
  17. That play from Gregory to set Windass up with the winner was brilliant Back in the championship, Darren Moore deserves this
  18. Well hopefully the extra 30 minutes will be better than the dreadful 90 minutes served up by Wednesday. So slow, so scared to go forward, it's been awful so far
  19. Good riddance to that St John Ambulance payment avoiding scum club. Never shed a tear for a Leicester City relegation after what they did in their administrations.
  20. How will that ground cope when Newcastle United and the Daily Mail turn up?
  21. Wasn't his keeper I am certain a player went down with cramp (Iorfa I think) and we had at least 2 minutes added on from the crampness. I had the game finishing at 8 minutes, not 6 Eitherway, definitely wasn't blowing the whistle when 6 minutes were up.
  22. That was the first time they played with freedom in ages and it showed. Unbelievable That and being locked up with covid, I think I've just aged an extra 10 years Well done Wednesday, enjoy the trip to Wembley
