"Proper England fans don't boo players"
Kiwi Owl replied to Otto_Man's topic in The Haigh and Wright Suite
So when a manager says he only picks players for England based on their form Then never selects James Ward Prowse as an example who's playing very well for West Ham Hmmm, think I can understand why some fans will be annoyed 'favourites' are being picked instead of players on form -
So nothing to do with the 36.5 million quid wage bill that we had, that 10 year season tickets and 60 quid match day tickets couldn't afford. Should never have had to sell the ground in the first place.
-
Not forgetting also that the players weren't paid 3 months of that season November, March and April. Given no payment of wages, it wasn't a surprise to hear post season that it wasn't a nice place to be at, the club that was.
-
We wouldn't have been relegated in the first place had it not been for the owner Take off the -6 points him alone got us, Wayne Rooneys Derby County and Rotherham United would have already been relegated that final day.
-
No side that gets 96 points in the division below should be struggling like this Since the change to the championship/league one etc, only 2 sides that were champions of league one have been relegated the following season. Scunthorpe mainly due to the fact they lost Andy Keogh and Willy Sharp (their goalscorers), and Wigan mainly to do with finances.
-
That'll be a 'try and get the fans back on my side' appointment given the unrest there is towards the chairman Sad thing is I don't know if I can trust him to make the right appointment - especially if Carlton Palmer is still living in his head rent free
-
That's putting it nicely Playing a 35 year old centre forward on the right wing Having 2 options for left back but deciding to play a centre half there Stats of the club averaging around 31% possession in his 10 league games Being outplayed by league 2 clubs on his home ground Barry Bannan as a number 10 up front? Josh Windass being played on the left side of midfield Averaging 1 or 2 shots on target per game Signed some absolute dross that we're stuck with (not including the two young forwards but they need the right guidance, which is something I hope the new manager could do) Worst manager in the history of the club. His football made Alan Irvines' look like Arsene Wengers'. Thank goodness this nightmare is over
-
Thank goodness, 3 games too late but at least its done. What a dreadful appointment it turned out to be. Completely destroyed the team and played the most odd possession based attacking football i've seen.
-
If we give him the season, we'll not even achieve the 21 points total (make it 26 if it was 3 points for a win) we got in the 1974/75 season. We're currently on course to get a massive 9 points The club will be that badly damaged, it would take a rebuild bigger than anything Darren Moore, Jack Charlton or Paul Sturrock could achieve. We cannot afford another Danny Wilson moment where we keep the manager in charge far longer than he should be. He has to be clearing his desk tomorrow morning

Club Statement being prepared -
Given Famewos injury, might be needed soon as a back up to Lee Gregory who will no doubt be left back for the next game

The all new Managerial Merry-go-round thread

If this is the case, I hope they go back and hire the manager that got them promoted out of this division last time round. -

For a side that was traiing 1-0, that second half was pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. It was as bad as Forest Green away last season. It took the 88th minute to have what I class as an 'attempt' on target and that is being nice given how wayward the volley was. Any neutral that watched that game would have thought we were playing Barcelona, not West Brom given how awful we were that 2nd half. West Brom didn't bother turning up for the 2nd half. They didn't need to, the game was won. Just go 1-0 up against us and congratulations, you have 3 points. We're not going to get an equaliser. You may annoy your fans by not bothering to get a 2nd (given our 1-0s last season annoyed many) but its 3 points. Hurry up and put the manager out of his misery. He's destroyed this team and we're going down with a whimper. Move him on now whilst we still have a slight chance of getting out of this. Continue with him and we're down by December -

Hooray, we've had an "attempt" this 2nd half -

This possession based attacking football is a wonderful watch. I didn't realise part of that was just to give the ball away nearly every single time you have it. There is so much space down the flanks that its almost a crossing training session for West Brom. Bernard and Iorfa are doing ok mind in the centre. If we had a left back (Famewo is trying I'll give him that but he's clearly not a left back), Wallace and Furlong wouldn't have the freedom they're getting down that side. Clearly we don't have one if this is how we've lined up. Oh hang on, there is a player that's far better suited to the left back role. -

I see the Newcastle fan is in trouble as well. There's been a video going round after the Man City game of him and his son (who's probably around 10, maybe younger) both mocking the Munich Air Disaster. -

After seeing the whats app messages, its pretty damning for the individual -
This Should have gone after the home defeat to Ipswich. But instead, lets focus on what that naughty Carlton Palmer is saying, rather than sacking a manager that is sending us back to league one and probably further down the divisions.

Joey Pelupessy did not sign in July 2017 Someone allegedly that knows their Wednesday, would know he was Jos Luhakays signing for £350,000 in the January transfer window 2018. Scored a cracker at Millwall as well. -
The let’s Macham pay this Friday night fred
Kiwi Owl replied to Skamp's topic in The Haigh and Wright Suite
For some reason, I always think of Cameron Jerome at home to Birmingham City when this happened. The day we comprehensively outplayed them yet somehow lost the game 3-0. The scoreline did not reflect the game at all He even got booked for it. -
Is this really their chairman? https://twitter.com/LowerTiers/status/1706364215114486235?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1706364215114486235|twgr^f74da405a1b0402bd375b86d46d0beab6c8673d5|twcon^s1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fs9e.github.io%2Fiframe%2Ftwitter.min.html1706364215114486235

A New Group of Attention Seekers
Kiwi Owl replied to BraddersTim's topic in The Haigh and Wright Suite
From memory, the two organisers were severely anti board throughout that season. They originally had nothing to do with Ken Bates until The Owls Trust and that other site joined forces with them. As the Owls Trust were backing Ken, they sold him to the two organisers who then supported the takeover bid. I think they preferred that boxing promoter to take charge instead - Dennis Hobson but he couldn't get the funds required to takeover the club -
Once again, another shambles of a performance. £50 quid match day tickets for this shower of rubbish!!! Expensive tickets gets you better players they say, oh do shut up. Evidence here suggests not. This manager (if you can call him a manager that is) is making Alan Irvine look like Arsene Wenger. Can't defend, can't attack, can't pass, its an embarrassment. He stays till the end of the season, we'll be lucky to get double figures at this rate. Utter fraud of a manager, who has had us outplayed by league two sides at Hillsborough let alone championship sides If he's not gone after the Sunderland game (providing he's still here), then we may as well write off the season and start preparing for league one because that's where we're going
