  1. If we go with a 3-5-2 in a game where we have to score at least 4 goals, then we might as well pack up and go home I'd have Iorfa and Ihekwe as a two in the middle with James and Palmer/Hunt as the full backs Then Vaulks, Adeniran and Bannan in the midfield Windass in a number 10 role Gregory and Paterson/Smith up front Chances are we'll play our usual and then as soon as the Flint to Ihekwe, to Iorfa, to Flint, to Ihekwe passing commences, Hillsborough will not be a nice place
  2. Tonight summed up why 3-5-2 is asking for trouble against 4-3-3 teams. Danny Cowley did this at the start of the season, again we just don't learn. The number of times they got behind our wing backs causing Ihekwe and Iorfa issues was too many. Those two weren't bad by the way. Aden Flint was terrible in the centre of the 3. That third goal, all from an utterly dreadful cross by Johnson. I won't comment on the fourth. Yet they missed what was their best chance at the end. They should have easily made it 5-0. Certain experienced players have let Darren Moore down tonight. There were times I could see why we finished so many points ahead of them. Whilst this is probably the end for Darren, I hope it's also the end of the line for many others. Quite frankly, they don't deserve to play for Wednesday again after that.
  3. So Derby stay in league one for another season and Milton Keynes get relegated Oh well
  4. Unsure, probably wlll given its a bit of a friendlier time to watch over here. The thought of knocking them out of the play offs would be worth watching just to get our own back on them sending us down, and also to send the 3826 Mendez Laing fans on the other site into tears as their hero doesn't get a play off place. I was expecting Derby to walk the league given the meltdown they had once it was announced he signed for them 😄
  5. There's also Daniel Pudil who was outstanding as a full back in that first season. The number of times where he knew when to make a forward run to help Bannan play the ball forward to him was a lot. However, Pudil was part of arguably our best back 4 since the PL days (Hunt, Lees, Loovens, Pudil). If we continued to have a solid attack minded full back, Bannan would have probably stayed in that position. Carlos thought he had that in Adam Reach but he was never ever an attack minded full back, he was either a left winger or a wing back (where he was fantastic with Preston on loan there). Morgan Fox was never an attack minded full back either. Hence, he then moved Bannan to a central midfield role to accommodate
  6. That they are He's been their version of Antonio in my opinion, the one that gets them over the line. That final piece to help star players like Chaplin and Morsy. He wasn't playing against Cheltenham where they drew. Plus, no other player in that team would have scored the free kick he did against us to get them back into a game they were heading to lose
  7. Broadhead is the best player in this division and will win them the league No Broadhead, they wouldn't be where they are Best £2million they've spent in a long time.
  8. Glad Barnsley won since it keeps their slight chance of automatic promotion in tact However, I'd rest Windass till the play offs if he has a chance of coming back. More than likely that's where we'll be To think 93 points won't get you promoted in a season is crazy talk.
  9. Even if we don't go up via the autos, win the remaining games will give me a bit more confidence going into the play offs. Unsure if I'll be as confident as I was in 2012 if we failed to pip the Blades. But it'll certainly help the feeling after Burton where I thought that was it Straw clutching accepted
  10. If we don't go up via the play offs, then probably Look what happened in the third season with Carlos. Twice in the play offs, twice failed - third season wasn't good at all. I don't think Chansiri will take that chance Shame because he's been a breath of fresh air compared to watching Monkball, Pulisball and Luhakayball.
  11. As awful as our defence was today, give some special consideration to Gregory who looks as if he's got George Hirsts' finishing boots from 2021. The target is the goal, not the sponsorship boards. Bannan also missed a sitter Adeniran had more mis-hits than a 24+ handicap golfer The finishing is dreadful. Only one chance fell to Paterson and he took it with a good finish. Some of the others need to go back to shooting practice. 14 or 15 attempts with what, 2 on target? Dreadful Oh and the long ball direct against a side with no midfield, great tactics that. I thought the Gary Megson era was gone
  12. The state of the defending, just embarrassing on all levels To think that in February/March it was almost impossible to get a shot in against that defence. Now, anyone can score for fun The second in particular was just pathetic! Flints pathetic attempt at a header and then the rest daydreaming whilst Helm had the freedom of the penalty area to make it 2
  13. How on earth has Conor Chaplin not been included in the top 3 players?
  14. This may come as a surprise but we also had 23 shots down there as well. Think we only hit the woodwork once with Vaulks late on Broadhead must not have been playing I assume?
  15. Unlike last week where we took 53 minutes to test the keeper in the 2nd half, that game should have been put to bed Wilks was unlucky to see Eastwood make the save but Gregory in particular should have buried that chance. An absolute howler Then at the end, I have no idea what Palmer was doing bar jumping out of the way, put your foot through it! Its like watching an England batting collapse, those players out there literally have thrown away promotion. I know there's games left but the confidence in that side is shot compared to the side that should have come out of Barnsley away thinking, 'one of those games'
  16. Given we're the away side, its job done so far A goal up and bar one set piece early on, Stockdale could have got away with reading a newspaper on a deck chair that half. The home side have done absolutely nothing I'm sure they won't be as bad second half
  17. I cannot believe I'm saying this given how confident I was, how solid defensively we were etc, but I'm moving towards where you are Watching that today and the Forest Green game, there is no chance the team out there will get out of this division. The fightback at Cheltenham gave me false hope watching it today When we played Milton Keynes, we were 2-1 down at half time but there was so much confidence within the camp that I was certain we'd get a result, even if scoring 5 was a questionable performance. Play that game now, we don't win that game - we go on to lose. Just how has this team gone from being like George Grahams Arsenal to Danny Wilsons Sheffield Wednesday in the space of a matter of weeks?
  18. That second half was completely unacceptable It took about 52 minutes until we tested their keeper 52 minutes I think those two attempts from Smith at the end on target got us to 3 which is the same as they had If that's how you're going to play at home, quite frankly, throw the white towel in and don't bother turning up.
  19. Wow, post away from winning that Don't think we deserved to win if that did go in. Given the conditions and the fact we were 2 down, that's a very good result to walk away from. Saw a fight that was not there at Forest Green on Sunday
