Ben Foster?? Seriously? No not for me at all. You could say he's still better than what we have (had in BPF) but it's hardly long term. We need to get age of squad down not up

Was BPF long term?

1 season, gets us promoted.

We need a keeper that commands his area and directs the defenders. I’m convinced that much of our defensive weakness at corners was down to a lack of assertiveness from BPF.

Whether or not Ben Foster does that, I don’t know, but he’s as good a shot stopper as BPF and more experienced. Got to be worth a year as first choice and maybe a second as back up.

One thing he's not been short of practice playing for Watford

I just happened to be at a gig in Aylesbury last night and hanging around between the acts there was a group of fellas who were sad looking Watford fans. Jeez the abuse and hatred for Roy Hodgson made me look like a top fan of Carlos in comparison. One was adamant that Roy was actually senile

Signing a new midfielder is a priority for Sheffield Wednesday manager Darren Moore this summer. It is not a great shock as there are still big question marks surrounding Massimo Luongo's long-term future and no replacement was brought in for Lewis Wing after he moved on to pastures new in the January transfer window.

It remains unclear whether Luongo, who is out of contract at the end of June, will stay or go. If he does leave, there is a possibility the Owls could be in the market for two midfielders.

Wednesday do have plenty of options in the middle of the park, with Barry Bannan, George Byers, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Dennis Adeniran. Academy graduate Alex Hunt will also come back into the fold after a frustrating loan spell with Oldham Athletic but it remains to be seen if the ball-playing midfielder will be part of Moore's plans for next season.

One player believed to be on the Owls' radar is Panutche Camara. Plymouth Argyle placed the 25-year-old on the transfer list after he snubbed a contract extension at Home Park. Wednesday have been strongly linked with a move for Camara.

But Pilgrims director of football Neil Dewsnip has ruled out the prospect of selling Camara, who still has another year left to run on his Plymouth deal, to a rival club. "I don't think that would work for anybody," he told our sister title Plymouth Live.

"I think that's kind of common sense really. I would hate an Argyle supporter to think that he is competing against us for the same prize."

Camara, an athletic midfielder, was a key performer for Plymouth in their promotion tilt. The former Crawley Town man racked up over 40 appearances across all competitions.

Dewsnip says there have been no formal approaches yet for Camara. He said: "We have not got anything exciting to tell you because there is no developments. As we speak, we are heading for a scenario whereby he returns to us again, but it's very early in the process."

As things stand, it seems likely Wednesday will have to look elsewhere in their search for reinforcements. Yorkshire Live understands the Owls are big admirers of Newcastle United’s Elliot Anderson. The 19-year-old starred on loan at Bristol Rovers, helping the Gas secure automatic promotion to League One.

Anderson, who has been likened to Diego Maradona by Rovers boss Joey Barton, scored eight goals in 21 appearances as Rovers pipped Northampton Town to third spot. He also won the League Two Goal of the Month award and was named the EFL Young Player of the Month for April.

Wednesday were said to have had a loan deal lined up for Anderson at the turn of the year only for injuries and suspensions to scupper a potential move. It will be interesting to see if they revive their interest in him when the transfer window reopens next month. A number of Championship clubs, including Millwall and Luton Town, are said to be keeping close tabs on Anderson's situation.

Wildsmith could be leaving… according to this

Hardly a surprise if he does…. But disappointed he couldn’t make the step up

I suspect that ship sailed a long time ago.  Remember when he was Carlos' annointed one for the future?

@Tylluanopinion on Tom Eaves?

30 years old and had a couple of injuries while at Hull. Big unit and likes to hustle and bustle but has lost a bit of pace over the last couple of years. He was deceptively quick over 5-10 metres during his two profilic seasons at Gillingham.

It just didn't seem to click for him at Hull but he grafted and became a fan favourite, although maybe in a sort of Nuhiu style of liking.

Just reading his interviews after being released and he left Hull because he doesn't want to be 2nd or 3rd choice. He'd suit being Akinfenwa's replacement at Wycombe but I'd struggle to put him as Gregory's partner if we stick with the 3-5-2 way of playing. We need pace and he doesn't have it. We'd end up playing lump ball.

Cheers, I rated him down at Gillingham.

Funny seeing the Star mob trying to link us with Vadaine Oliver.
