I sat and watched Poland hammer Estonia last night, which means it’s Wales v Poland on Tuesday night for a place at the Euros.

it's a pointless qualification phase when there's a dozen teams that may not even concede a goal.

Should split UEFA & FIFA competitions into cups and shields with winners of shield getting into the next cup.

If the weather’s decent I might go. Haven’t been yet, despite living down the road for the past 9 years.

I'm taking the little one for her first game. Not expecting to make it to half time but it gets her out and about. They gave these cards out at the schools yesterday so she wants to give it a go.

My dad’s 77th birthday tomorrow so spending some time with him. Mum is housebound and dad isn’t good on his feet, so as I can’t take them out I’ll be bringing them fish n chips from their favourite chippy!

Tomorrow night will probably involve a visit to the local for a few beers!

...so that's £5 for an adult and kid to attend for two seasons?

Who's running Frickley, Geoff and Jake?

Frickley only get about 4-500 per game, so new fans can only be a good thing. A decent percentage is kids.

Last time I went, the food was pretty good and reasonably priced, so I'll end up spending a bit on food and drink.

It's only £7 for an adult anyway, so they'll make it up on concessions.

Frickley drew 0-0 with Tadcaster.

Little one lasted till full time, which isn't bad for a 6 year old. Forgot how windy it is on Frickley hill, knew I'd fucked up when I went in and saw all the massive coats and bobble hats.

Frickley play in the Wednesday template kit from last season, saw some of the Frickley version of the green macron Chris Powell bobble hats, tried to get one but they'd sold out.

Chips, pie, peas and gravy for a fiver, £2.70  for chips and gravy, spent about £16 all in with the ticket. Can't argue with that.

All in all, decent afternoon out, little one enjoyed it and wants to go again

Off to a localish derby tomorrow. Hucknall Town Vs Heanor. Been a bit tasty in the past and the fans aren't exactly friendly to each other either.

Played at both a few times. Heanor fans are vile.

It was niggly on and off the pitch all game but really kicked off after a Heanor defender got sent off for bringing down the Hucknall forward through on goal.

The ref bottled at least one more red as Heanor then decided they were just gonna snap players. Finished 2-2 as Hucknall couldn't capitalise and then their support started to exit and found Heanor waiting in the car park. Mostly kids, who looked like they'd robbed a JD Sports, but quite a few old boys egging them on from behind. A few cars got damaged.

Worse I saw was one fella pushed his way through with a couple of young lads, put them in the car then flew into the middle of a group and slapped about five of them before they knew what was happening. God knows what his kids thought.

I’m playing today, still getting round the pitch in vets football. Anyone else still not hung their boots up yet?

I still play.

Primarily futsal and 6-a-side. Our futsal season finished last weekend and I play in two 6-a-side leagues that start in April (two different teams). I’m over 40 but still play in the normal leagues and not in the over 35’s.

I’m signed to an 11-a-side team but only play if they are short of players, which last season, was way more than I wanted it to be.

Not competitive but play five a side twice a week.

One game mix of ages from 18 to 60 and other game Dads v Lads.  So late 40's to late 50's against 18 to 23 year old.  Proper tough game that.

Lost to a last minute goal but a good 80 minute runout. Should be back walking by about the middle of April.

I've given walking footy a go on and off over the last 12 months, as it's the only way my right knee says, yeah that sort of football is ok and I won't collapse on you.

Played last Monday against Russ Wilcox, (yes that one) and a load of other old boys who play for Donny's walking footy side who I'm led to believe played decent non league/league 2 level. They were chuffing good players still, can pick a pass.

Russ tried nutmegging me, and called it. Didn't work. I caught him out and nicked the ball off him. Naturally I had to poke fun at him after the game, and he admitted I'd made him look at bit of a pillock.

There's quite a few ex pros playing so I'm led to believe, Forest apparently have a few more 'recent' pros turn out for them now and again.

Lad I work with went to a walking football session last week in Rotherham.  Said only 4 turned up so he is trying to enlist me.  Might give it a go.  Passing is probably the best part of me game when I play five a side so might be the game for me.

Best part of my game was putting the opposition centre forward into orbit, so doubt walking football is for me

Nowt surprises me mate even in central mids/ NE  countries level.  Parkgate have a kindergarten firm.

When I played at Heanor early 2000s. I slid in at back post to make it 2-2 in last minute,  got gobbed on and swung at from 5 or 6 big lads. Never said a dickie or really celebrated. (Bottled it). I had to be escorted of the pitch by the ref, lino's and most of our players.

Tbh I did get home very early that night.

Is it legal to drive in football boots.

Baring that in mind, I'm off to Sunderland with winco and our young un. Maybe it's groundhog day 20 years later.

Always recall watching my step brother play in the County Senior League one time up at Mexborough or the like. A feisty game, but one where the smallish crowd to start with started to grow a bit, cars turning up with 3 or 4 tough types getting out. I think the ref called time on the game though that recollection is more blurred. I just recall being happy escaping the place

Get thisen involved. If you get a few going it can still get the blood flowing about without haring around. We’ve had 9v9 some weeks so change to 3 touch and it’s usually just as good if not better!

I can’t go after tomorrow till about October, as I mainly only play while the middle lad in our house trains on the other 4G pitch where we play next to the Imps stadium during the ‘dark nights’.
