  1. Whilst it used to annoy me that STs went on sale midway through the season, it no longer does. It annoyed me because I had to decide early whether I wanted to continue watching dross (eg when Monk was here). Last season it worked in fans and clubs favour, as we were deciding at a time when we were riding high. This season has been a disaster but I’ll be renewing, based entirely on what DR is trying to achieve. I don’t mind which division that is in. As others have said, it’s something of a moot point as this has been happening for years and so shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.
  2. It’s an almost alien feeling this, happiness on a Saturday night. I thought we were sensational today. As much as we know we lack the quality, now we have passion, commitment, courage and confidence. We have a system and we have belief. We have seen a significant improvement in our fitness. Having these things means not having the quality matters a lot less. We can do ok, despite the players we have. Vaulks and Windass were arguably our best two. Palmer was poor and Bannan and Byers both poor in the first half but overall we did the right things consistently. It was great to see. We threw bodies on the line when needed, we have a way of playing that creates chances. Today we took those chances and that makes all the difference. Lots to be happy about.
  3. They’re there to serve the 50-100 people that will benefit from them. It’s no indication of next year’s season ticket prices as some will make out.
  4. Let’s hope so. Get shut of one or two, free up some places in the squad and get players in for the future, whatever division that may be in. Wilks has been a disaster. I like my players to give everything, regardless of their ability. Him and Fletcher haven’t showed anything in their time with us. They can go. Hendrick looks shot. Those three would be the first out of the door for me.
  5. Had this thread not been about Twin I would have been very disappointed.
  6. Yes. You’re missing the opportunity to have a dig at our owner and chairman.
  7. I’m going to plump for 2004/5. Richard Wood is at the top, Glenn Whelan down the right and I think Graeme Lee is on there. If it is, could be worth in excess of £2
  8. Anonymous group acting under the cover of darkness, probably to hide their red leanings or ginger hair.
  9. They had us 4 on 3 in a little group for the corner. Their 3 occupied our three whilst the other guy attacked the ball and had a free header at goal.
  10. His issue was he didn’t read the cross at all. He bombed in ahead of the ball and therefore put himself in that situation when the cross came in behind him.
  11. He cut across the ball when he should have gone through it.
  12. I don’t think I could fault a single player for us today. Even the subs got involved immediately. Everyone seemed to know and stick to their roles. Fitness levels seemed much improved. I thought it was a top class performance. Had we won 4 or 5 nil I don’t think they could have complained. We created loads of chances and critically we took two of them. We looked in control throughout. It was a pleasure to watch. The win was much needed but well deserved. Early goals meant the atmosphere was great and all the focus was on the pitch. Loads to eulogise about and I accept one swallow does not a summer make, but today meant I enjoyed my weekend for the first time since August, so here’s to more days like these.
  13. Of course blue and white is our identity too, but I’d sacrifice the white stripes to suck the devils appendage in return for glory but couldn’t sacrifice the Wednesday.
  14. I’d be ok with that but not if they dropped the Wednesday. Wednesday is our identity
  15. Ok. What if they chose Red Bull Sheffield, would it still be as appealing? The prospect of being a well run and successful team, but having to lose the Wednesday part of our name and possibly have red in our home colours.
  16. What if it was Sheffield Red Bull and they dropped the Wednesday?
  17. That’s where I was coming from. A combination that it’s a short term thing, that will be cleared up in the coming days or weeks and therefore not impact us in January. I’ll wait to see what happens but think it would be wise to make a statement before the game tomorrow, otherwise the action/inaction of DC will overshadow the game, which Rohl and the team absolutely don’t need at this point.
  18. Basically yes. Let the haters enjoy their Friday though
  19. Is there an amount we need each year to keep us afloat? I try to donate every couple of months, just want to be sure I’m giving enough.
  20. Just dreadful. We concede so many pathetic goals.
  21. From what little I saw on my hooky feed, I thought that was an improvement on previous performances.
  22. I think the market was closed when I looked, because in theory Toytown should have been playing. It came back on around 11pm. I’ve had a bet on us finishing top half at 20-1 which I think it more achievable than top 6.
  23. I can’t find any outright bets for top 6 on Skybet, nor bet365
