  1. Now we can have a couple of weeks wondering who we’ll appoint only to find it’s some some guy who got an under 11s team promoted in Madagascar in 1987.

  3. Give him his job back if that’s the replacement.
  4. There are many times when I wish I had a greater number of points and could attend more away games. This is not one of them. Fair play to anyone making the effort when all signals point to conceding after 5 minutes and the players wondering aimlessly around the pitch for the remainder of the game.
  5. I have defended DC on many fronts. He saved us, he chucked his money in. Seeing his statement yesterday (albeit fleetingly in a car park in Leicester) I thought most of it was fair comment. However, in the very cold light of day, I’ve seen how incendiary it is. Basically he’s threatening everyone, even those that have supported him, because of the actions of the minority. Either we sort out the protestors, or we all suffer. This is having the opposite effect and turning more people against him. The minority will soon become the majority. For all the things he’s done where he can defend his tenure, he would struggle to defend two fundamental things. His managerial appointments. His lack of a long term plan. I had hoped we had moved towards a longer term plan this season but that can only be delivered successfully by having a structure of people that have a track record of delivering this elsewhere. Throughout his time at Wednesday, the one thing that hasn’t changed is that all decisions are taken by DC with advice from Paixao. Neither has proven themselves to be capable of making the right decisions and that should have changed a long time ago. If he doesn’t recognise this and isn’t prepared to change that dynamic then he needs to consider selling.
  6. That team could have been playing together for the first time. A decent manager could send a team of 11 year olds out and beat us. I left after 32 minutes. They players left after 5.
  7. I don’t read it as him declaring no more investment. I read it as him saying carry on behaving like a bunch of ***** and I’ll stop putting money in. It’s a warning, not a commitment.
  8. We will if folk like me spend the build up to the game bursting any black balloons that come in their direction.
  9. Yesterday was very poor and somewhat concerning. Bannan was a miss but I did not expect that line up at all. I mistakenly thought the last two performances were away performances and we’d set up more attacking. Lose Paterson, Smith and Palmer and see Valentin, Musaba and Buckley. Put Gregory up top. And with that, hope to see this aggressive high pressing football we’ve been promised. We saw nothing of it, aside from a 3 minute spell in the first 15 minutes and a few better moments in the second. For the rest, we had no shape, no system, no passion. It was a truly awful performance. Vasquez stood out above anyone, Delgado did ok and Buckley looked like the kind of player we need. We looked so devoid of creativity before he came on. In summary; we stank.
  10. The only ones worth gambling £995 on were the penalty spots. I imagine once they’d gone, there was very little interest.
  11. How strange. At least I don’t have to be reminded each game that I should have read how prizes were awarded before I purchased my plots. Glad the defibrillators are still being bought.
  12. Probably Bartos. He isn’t training with the first team squad but he isn’t training on his own. That’s what I got from Xisco’s press conference.
  13. I really enjoy Xisco’s press conferences. Fuckwittery from the press notwithstanding, if you watch them from start to finish you get a good feel about what he’s trying to do. He’s creating a style and system for the club, an identity. This is something he wants to run throughout the club. We’re looking to build for the future, not just for the season. I found some of the stuff about the under 21s and loans really interesting.
  14. As we own him, we’re in a position to ask what we want. I don’t think we’d ever get a fee though. Perhaps we just didn’t want to help Derby out and I’m ok with that. Whatever the reason he didn’t leave, I don’t think it’s sinister, or underhand. As for Johnson not being in the squad, it’s unfortunate for him. We know he has a great left foot but he wasn’t as good last season as the season before. I anticipated him warming the bench this season but he isn’t. He was always going to be making the numbers up. I’d guess it’s as much about his attitude as his ability or age. Those that have adapted to the new way and knuckled down (such as Paterson) have found themselves in the first team when we would expect them to be on the bench, others such as James and Johnson have found themselves on the fringes. We’re going through change. I think it’s a positive thing, others don’t. That’s what happens with change. New people come in, others move on. It’s uncomfortable but necessary.
  15. But it’s Chansiri’s fault for not giving him away.
  16. Looks more like The Stir getting involved to me.
  17. Good on him for getting the truth out there. Looking forward to the anti DC mob putting their spin on it.
  18. I never had my account approved. Probably about 3 years ago I tried to open an account because some bloke on the kop had opened a thread about me and I wanted to defend myself. I’d written my response already but my account was never activated so I never got to give my side of the story.
  19. Hopefully they’ll realise they don’t have the support from the majority of fans and they’ll find somewhere else to have their ego stroked. As Otto says, any perceived support will diminish as results improve.
  20. I’m pleased with yesterday’s performance and result. On another day we could have come away with all three. We set up largely as we did against Cardiff, looking to keep it tight and hopefully grab a goal. As you would expect away from home. Players like Gregory, Paterson , Windass and Bannan are showing they can act under instruction. They’ve bought into the transition a little more. Smith is there because we have nothing else. Fletcher hasn’t shown anything yet. Of the new players, Delgado and Devis have settled best but Diaby and Barnard looked better yesterday and we’ve seen glimpses of Pol in the last couple of games. The two new lads will add another dimension, plus I think we’ll see more of Musaba at home. Gregory will go back to playing up top. Hopefully we continue with the improvement. We’ve got enough quality to get goals and win games, even if we haven’t got a 15-20 goal striker. We need more complete performances, but yesterday we were in the game for most of the 90 and managed to dominate for some spells, so we’re getting there. Reasons to be less than miserable.
  21. Ipswich will be disappointed in having their 3-2 victory marked as a loss.
  22. I wondered the same re Morelos. Still showing as a free agent. I’m guessing Xisco doesn’t fancy him?
