  1. With who? Hendrick was wank before his injury and we've been playing a right sided defender in there because we don't have options. Friday's game showed what we're like without any creativity in the middle and yes Bannan was wank today but there was nothing else. The only way would have been to switch to 4-2-3-1 but that would mean playing a proper left back and for some reason Rohl doesn't fancy James. It would also mean Bannan having to hold position in front of the middle two and he just can't do that and Windass isn't fit enough yet.
  2. That back 3 is a bit unbalanced. Would rather Ihiekwe was in the middle with either Palmer or Iorfa on his right.
  3. Cook was never going to push on with us. Brought in to fill a gap. Busy enough but not prolific. Alimi-Adetoro should find at least a National North/South club if he doesn't want too much money. Slightly lightweight but there's a cultured player in there. Glover is a bit of a puzzle. I've a lot of time for him but Holdsworth and possibly Rohl must see better prospects in the 18s to spend time on. If so it just reinforces the belief that there's a long term structure now on place. I had him as a better version of Alex Hunt but maybe he's stalled a bit. He didn't pull up trees on his last loan move to Spennymoor
  4. @KrolMong Using the recent Ipswich investment as a benchmark (also noting that all the PR blurb around that said UPTO £105m) I'd put two offers on the table. £60m for the club. DC keeps the ground but rent is kept at the already agreed repayment structure for the next five years. After that I have an option to buy the ground back at whatever is left to pay on the original 'purchase' price. That would mean Sheffield 3 is responsible for general upkeep and any updating requirements specified by relevant authorities for 5 years and would enable me to spend on the playing side. Another £60m would be set aside, in a shell company, for investment to pay for the ground after 5 years. If I've got half a billion going spare then I'd know where to invest. 5 years would also give me plenty of time to look for a new ground site (fuck the traditionalists, it's my club now) Or I take the lot for AB's £80m, possibly pushing to £90m, but no PL bonus payment. I'd use Pubehead's umbrella principle and stick the club, as a shareholder (or however Boro sits) underneath my highest profit generator and use the dividends to part fund the club. This then falls in line with the new 80% revenue spend that's coming in. Other revenue will be generated by organising reciprocal, over market value, sponsorship deals. Might be a bit unethical (ahem) but one of my untraceable offshore investment portfolios 'invests' in a chain that leads to someone buying Jones Ltd and sponsoring the club for stupid amounts a season. I'd also name each one of the stands after my companies on a yearly sponsorship deal. £100m is invested to pay for ground improvements. £50m is set aside to pay to move away from Middlewood. In either case there's a five year and ten year plan put in place on the playing side and we follow the Brighton model. If Graham Potter fancies it then he becomes the new DoF.
  5. 5-3-2 with overlapping wingbacks, Musaba sitting in front of Palmer and Vaulks and given the freedom of the pitch to go marauding. In attack it turns into 3-2-3-2 with Palmer and Vaulks holding
  6. That's the one. That's the absolute nailed on response you'll get from anyone who's on the 1867 bus when you've steamrolled over every other topic they bring up. We don't own our own ground and Chansiri is taking millions out of the club in 'rent'.
  7. We can play any academy players that were already registered at the club before yesterday, provided they're not trialists. So we can't play the lad from Watford. The rule has changed this season. It used to be that they had to have been in a prior matchday squad in order to play after the 4th Thursday. A lot of clubs have been caught out by the relaxation as the wording is horrific.
  8. Isn't that new Gulliver's theme park still within the Sheffield boundary? They picked that land up for next to nowt (relative to normal purchases)
  9. People will accept anything if it fits their narrative or the one they subscribe to. Dave in the pub knows the lass in reception and she says two Indian blokes with large suitcases walked in last Thursday and Chansiri wouldn't see them, mainly because he was in Thailand at the time. Got back in a City Rover with Infosys written all over it. Got to be true ain't it. Dave wouldn't lie Then there's the box watchers who try and do face recognition on anyone new sitting there. Like Carson Yeung that time and thank fuck we dodged that bullet. And don't forget that Arab in full white buying a pork sarnie from Beres.
  10. I was thinking the same. No private equity firm is going to 'invest' £105m unless they're already seeing a structure on returns. Especially when Bright Path are 'borrowing' money from Simon Group in the first place.
  11. Latest from the Nevs. They're trying to legitimise the cause by attaching themselves to the protest groups of two basket case clubs with legitimate ownership concerns that could have dire consequences for their respective clubs.
  12. The Nev/Stalk (possible) counter... It's not £20 though is it? It's £39 if you haven't bought a membership (small print, to sit in the South) That's almost double what Chansiri is claiming it to be and another example of his duplicity. Also if you've not had chance to use your membership yet then that Kop ticket becomes £70, as Chansiri robbed £50 off you back last August for the membership fee. That's almost £90 to watch Stoke in the South and you even have to bring your own tartan blanket.
  13. Isn't it more like a political office in Spain and prosecutors are elected in? If so then it's all about playing to the public arena. They played to the 'Madrid' crowd and generated a lot of publicity around wanting Messi in jail for two years for tax evasion but settled on a fine in the end.
  14. He's having trouble selling out an after dinner event at the Grange Golf Club if you fancy having a word.
  15. Palmer has become very vocal about saying how this player and that would be great fits for clubs they're currently not at. There's a few clubs not happy with him, especially Brest, over his comments on Karamoko Dembele, and Celtic around Mikey Johnston. Don't know if he's picking up fees but a few in my world think he's acting as a mouthpiece for certain agents.
  16. Thing is England C lost to Wales C last week. My mate does the analysis for England C and was gutted
  17. A few thoughts on the performance of England C team (just for Reesh) last night. First off don't complain about decisions and missed fouls/penalties/offsides if you choose to play at a stadium where VAR isn't fitted. Now to the playing side. No point in playing Moore if you're not going to have someone running off the flick ons. After the first ten mins Poland backed off to pick up the seconds as no one was near him. Why take Brennan off when he was possibly our most forward moving player. Page then realised his mistake and threw a half fit Brooks on who had to be subbed himself. Broadhead hardly got a touch when he came on and didn't take a penalty so what was the point. Ramsey would have been the better option to take the sting out of Poland being fitter in extra time. Penalties. The look on Dan James face, as he took the ball from Ward, told you he was never going to score. Hennessey should have been studying the crib sheet and Ward should have been subbed. He was never going to save any penalty and we were relying on Poland missing. Page has to go. We might have taken points off Croatia but he should have gone after we lost at home to Armenia. The players might like him but the last Euros, the World Cup and this campaign show he's no idea how to change the influence in a game. Give Steve Cooper whatever he wants for the next set of qualifiers
  18. Done some asking and they only have an option to ask him to sign, like a first refusal, so he can do the free agent trials to see if he'd be better elsewhere. The Watford rumour mill is that he wasn't happy there. Trained with the first team at the beginning of August, got on the bench against Stoke then was binned back to the 21s. Sent out loan to non league in November then they sent him out again in February. The rumour on that one is he turned up for training and was just told to head off to Haringey. He had no say. Him, and his family, have seen the progression route that has happened this season with our academy and see us as an opportunity. I'm hearing he's not afraid to graft and learn and he has the right aptitude. It's just that his whole family felt he was never told what was happening at Watford. He only joined Watford in January 23, before then he was non league, so the compensation would be minimal if anything at all.
  19. Watford u21s forward James Collins turned out for our 21s against QPR. He's 19 and highly rated by Watford so the fact that he's decided to trial for us shows well for our current academy set up. He plays in the Michael Smith role but his hold up play is better. Big and powerful lad, not easy to knock off the ball. Don't expect tons of pace from him but he's quite effective at ghosting in and around the penalty area. Been on Watford's bench once this season and been loaned out to lower leagues a couple of times as well. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/24207698.sheffield-wednesday-take-young-watford-striker-trial/
  20. I know the race card has been played and Webber used players he was associated with but he could have levelled the same comments at Rooney and Barton. Barton, in particular would probably have gone down a particular route judging by his violent misdemeanours record while in football.
  21. It was niggly on and off the pitch all game but really kicked off after a Heanor defender got sent off for bringing down the Hucknall forward through on goal. The ref bottled at least one more red as Heanor then decided they were just gonna snap players. Finished 2-2 as Hucknall couldn't capitalise and then their support started to exit and found Heanor waiting in the car park. Mostly kids, who looked like they'd robbed a JD Sports, but quite a few old boys egging them on from behind. A few cars got damaged. Worse I saw was one fella pushed his way through with a couple of young lads, put them in the car then flew into the middle of a group and slapped about five of them before they knew what was happening. God knows what his kids thought.
  22. We've taken a look at 18 year old winger Rocco Vata at Celtic. Out of contract in the summer and not signing an extension as the expectation is Milan will come calling
