  1. What an incredibly stupid thing to do. Re-posting with some sort of comment like “deserves to tell his side” would have been bad enough, but would have been (just about) defensible. Adding the “top man” bit takes it to a different level. The club will come under a lot of pressure to strip him of the captaincy I would think.
  2. Away at Donny announced for 25th July.
  3. That was the streaker game. We won 3-0. York played in that kit with the Y on the front. Pretty sure Eric McMordie scored one of them - our top scorer that season … on the grand total of 6 (six) goals.
  4. We went on from the North Stand after my Dad said initially we couldn’t. With just about everyone else on the pitch, he relented. Can remember that the drop from the wall to the pitch was much further than I was expecting. Great photos by the way @HarrySpeakup
  5. There were rumours of a clash with Francis at the time I seem to recall.
  6. I also had it in my head that his son was also called Alan, but Google tells me it was Paul. Back to Alan I remember reading an article back in the day about how he really changed the ethos of the treatment room. Out went all the magazines etc, and injured players had a proper hard working regime to get them back fit. They worked just as hard as the fit players, if not harder, and the previous perception that a little spell injured was a nice relaxed break was ended. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that if not the instigator of the current approach to football fitness/treatment he was at the very least one of the forerunners.
  7. We went in The Torch - queued to get in just pre 10:00. Initial service took a while, but after that was pretty quick. Mate messaged me at about 11:30 saying that he was in the queue and the police were saying it would be a two hour wait. Five minutes later he was stood at the side of me.
  8. With no points gained in the play off final Gregory is confirmed as this season’s champion. A red card in the first game of the season, and his tally also includes missed penalties, yellow cards and an own goal. He’s only missing a conceded penalty for a full house. Lee Gregory 15 Marvin Johnson 12 Dominic Iorfa 11 Will Vaulks 9 Liam Palmer 9 Michael Ihiekwe 8 Calum Paterson 7 Barry Bannan 7 Reece James 6 Mark McGuinness 6 Michael Smith 5 George Byers 4 Jack Hunt 4 Josh Windass 4 Tyreeq Bakinson 3’ Jaden Brown 3 Akin Famewo 3 Fisayo Dele-Bashiru 2 Dennis Adeniran 2 Aden Flint 2 Cameron Dawson 1 Jay Glover 1 Sylla Sow 1 David Stockdale 1 Mallik Wilkes 1
  9. Two points for Windass’ late winner in the play of final in the Meaningful Goals table. It sees him join Smith at that top of that table to go with his top place in the main table. Who Got Us The Points Josh Windass 12 Michael Smith 11 Lee Gregory 8 Barry Bannan 6 Marvin Johnson 6 Liam Palmer 5.55 Calum Paterson 5.05 George Byers 4 Will Vaulks 4 Mark McGuinness 3.9 Akin Famewo 3.5 Own Goals 3 Cameron Dawson 2.6 Dominic Iorfa 2.6 Dennis Adeniran 2.25 Michael Ihiekwe 2.2 David Stockdale 2.2 Alex Mighten 2.2 Malik Wilks 2.05 Tyreeq Bakinson 2 Reece James 1.65 Aden Flint 1.4 Fisayo Dele-Bashiru 1 Ben Heneghan 1 Jack Hunt 0.45 Jaden Brown 0.4 Meaningful Goals Michael Smith 22 Josh Windass 22 Lee Gregory 12.5 Barry Bannan 11 Calum Paterson 10.5 Marvin Johnson 6 Dennis Adeniran 4.5 George Byers 4.5 Liam Palmer 4.5 Will Vaulks 4 Fisayo Dele-Bashiru 3.5 Alex Mighten 2.5 Tyreeq Bakinson 2 Jaden Brown 2 Mark McGuinness 2 Akin Famewo 0.5 Aden Flint 0.5 Reece James 0.5 Sylla Sow 0.5 Will Trueman 0.5 Mallik Wilks 0.5
  10. Wearing the Wednesday/Pulp shirt. And will have this badge from my youth (found whilst clearing my Dad’s out) in my pocket - if was also there v Peterborough.
  11. RIP. What an integral part of that Wilkinson era he was.
  12. Ah, ok thanks. I had seen that but thought it was something other than the designated pubs.
  13. What is the pub being boycotted, and why? Apologies if it’s already been mentioned.
  14. I’m taking the decision to award two sets of points in Meaningful Goals for the Peterborough game. The regular rules, but also for the aggregate score. So, it’s two points for Smith and half a point for Gregory for putting us 1-0 and 2-0 up respectively for tonight’s game. For the aggregate score it’s half a point for Reece James for getting us to within a goal, and one point for both Palmer and Paterson for putting us level. Who Got Us The Points Josh Windass 12 Michael Smith 11 Lee Gregory 8 Barry Bannan 6 Marvin Johnson 6 Liam Palmer 5.55 Calum Paterson 5.05 George Byers 4 Will Vaulks 4 Mark McGuinness 3.9 Akin Famewo 3.5 Own Goals 3 Cameron Dawson 2.6 Dominic Iorfa 2.6 Dennis Adeniran 2.25 Michael Ihiekwe 2.2 David Stockdale 2.2 Alex Mighten 2.2 Malik Wilks 2.05 Tyreeq Bakinson 2 Reece James 1.65 Aden Flint 1.4 Fisayo Dele-Bashiru 1 Ben Heneghan 1 Jack Hunt 0.45 Jaden Brown 0.4 Meaningful Goals Michael Smith 22 Josh Windass 20 Lee Gregory 12.5 Barry Bannan 11 Calum Paterson 10.5 Marvin Johnson 6 Dennis Adeniran 4.5 George Byers 4.5 Liam Palmer 4.5 Will Vaulks 4 Fisayo Dele-Bashiru 3.5 Alex Mighten 2.5 Tyreeq Bakinson 2 Jaden Brown 2 Mark McGuinness 2 Akin Famewo 0.5 Aden Flint 0.5 Reece James 0.5 Sylla Sow 0.5 Will Trueman 0.5 Mallik Wilks 0.5
  15. Gregory’s unfortunate own goal v Peterborough gives him a three point lead going into the final game of the season. There were yellows for Palmer, Bannan, Ihiekwe and Hunt. Lee Gregory 15 Marvin Johnson 12 Dominic Iorfa 11 Will Vaulks 9 Liam Palmer 9 Michael Ihiekwe 8 Calum Paterson 7 Barry Bannan 7 Reece James 6 Mark McGuinness 6 Michael Smith 5 George Byers 4 Jack Hunt 4 Josh Windass 4 Tyreeq Bakinson 3’ Jaden Brown 3 Akin Famewo 3 Fisayo Dele-Bashiru 2 Dennis Adeniran 2 Aden Flint 2 Cameron Dawson 1 Jay Glover 1 Sylla Sow 1 David Stockdale 1 Mallik Wilkes 1
  16. I think most people will still go. Ticket already paid for - and imagine not having been there if we do manage to pull it off.
  17. Yellows for Flint and Ihiekwe at Peterborough. Assuming there is no miracle on Thursday it’s a one game shoot out between the top three. If scores are level then the player with the least appearances takes the title, so Gregory’s in the driving seat. Iorfa needs a two pointer or more. Vaulks’ appearance tally means he needs four points for any chance, whilst only a penalty conceding red card can help Palmer, Ihiekwe and Paterson. Lee Gregory 12 Marvin Johnson 12 Dominic Iorfa 11 Will Vaulks 9 Liam Palmer 8 Michael Ihiekwe 7 Calum Paterson 7 Barry Bannan 6 Reece James 6 Mark McGuinness 6 Michael Smith 5 George Byers 4 Josh Windass 4 Tyreeq Bakinson 3’ Jaden Brown 3 Jack Hunt 3 Akin Famewo 3 Fisayo Dele-Bashiru 2 Dennis Adeniran 2 Aden Flint 2 Cameron Dawson 1 Jay Glover 1 Sylla Sow 1 David Stockdale 1 Mallik Wilkes 1
  18. He would - Brown, Palner and Johnson it should have read. My excuse is that I’m pissed after a couple of drinks turned into a fair bit more than that.
  19. Well done Michael Smith - first player to 20 goals since Neil Mellor.
  20. Yellows for Brown, Palmer and Brown v Derby. it puts Johnson and Gregory neck and neck for the title. Lee Gregory 12 Marvin Johnson 12 Dominic Iorfa 11 Will Vaulks 9 Liam Palmer 8 Calum Paterson 7 Barry Bannan 6 Michael Ihiekwe 6 Reece James 6 Mark McGuinness 6 Michael Smith 5 George Byers 4 Josh Windass 4 Tyreeq Bakinson 3’ Jaden Brown 3 Jack Hunt 3 Akin Famewo 3 Fisayo Dele-Bashiru 2 Dennis Adeniran 2 Cameron Dawson 1 Aden Flint 1 Jay Glover 1 Sylla Sow 1 David Stockdale 1 Mallik Wilkes 1
  21. The clean sheet got us our first point v Derby. With the defensive substitution coming after the 70 minute mark it’s 0.2 for Dawson, Iorfa, Flint and Brown, and 0.1 for Palmer and Johnson. Smith’s penalty added the other two points. In Meaningfully Goals Smith gets two points. Who Got Us The Points Josh Windass 12 Michael Smith 11 Lee Gregory 8 Barry Bannan 6 Marvin Johnson 6 Liam Palmer 5.55 Calum Paterson 5.05 George Byers 4 Will Vaulks 4 Mark McGuinness 3.9 Akin Famewo 3.5 Own Goals 3 Cameron Dawson 2.6 Dominic Iorfa 2.6 Dennis Adeniran 2.25 Michael Ihiekwe 2.2 David Stockdale 2.2 Alex Mighten 2.2 Malik Wilks 2.05 Tyreeq Bakinson 2 Reece James 1.65 Aden Flint 1.4 Fisayo Dele-Bashiru 1 Ben Heneghan 1 Jack Hunt 0.45 Jaden Brown 0.4 Meaningful Goals Josh Windass 20 Michael Smith 20 Lee Gregory 12 Barry Bannan 11 Calum Paterson 9.5 Marvin Johnson 6 Dennis Adeniran 4.5 George Byers 4.5 Will Vaulks 4 Fisayo Dele-Bashiru 3.5 Liam Palmer 3.5 Alex Mighten 2.5 Tyreeq Bakinson 2 Jaden Brown 2 Mark McGuinness 2 Akin Famewo 0.5 Aden Flint 0.5 Sylla Sow 0.5 Will Trueman 0.5 Mallik Wilks 0.5
  22. The first point at Shrewsbury was thanks to the clean sheet. The defensive changes came after the 70 minute cut off mark, so it’s 0.2 for Dawson, Palmer, Iorfa and Ihiekwe, and 0.1 for Adeniran and Johnson. Smith’s early strike added the other two points. In Meaningful Goals Smith gets two points for his opener and half a point for his second. Who Got Us The Points Josh Windass 12 Michael Smith 9 Lee Gregory 8 Barry Bannan 6 Marvin Johnson 5.9 Liam Palmer 5.45 Calum Paterson 5.05 George Byers 4 Will Vaulks 4 Mark McGuinness 3.9 Akin Famewo 3.5 Own Goals 3 Cameron Dawson 2.4 Dominic Iorfa 2.4 Dennis Adeniran 2.25 Michael Ihiekwe 2.2 David Stockdale 2.2 Alex Mighten 2.2 Malik Wilks 2.05 Tyreeq Bakinson 2 Reece James 1.65 Aden Flint 1.2 Fisayo Dele-Bashiru 1 Ben Heneghan 1 Jack Hunt 0.45 Jaden Brown 0.2 Meaningful Goals Josh Windass 20 Michael Smith 18 Lee Gregory 12 Barry Bannan 11 Calum Paterson 9.5 Marvin Johnson 6 Dennis Adeniran 4.5 George Byers 4.5 Will Vaulks 4 Fisayo Dele-Bashiru 3.5 Liam Palmer 3.5 Alex Mighten 2.5 Tyreeq Bakinson 2 Jaden Brown 2 Mark McGuinness 2 Akin Famewo 0.5 Aden Flint 0.5 Sylla Sow 0.5 Will Trueman 0.5 Mallik Wilks 0.5
