Five Wednesday goals (plus an own goal) since the last update, but it took us six games to get them. It was five different scorers too, Vaulks, Johnson, Paterson, Smith and Byers. Smith’s takes him to 12 and an end of season projected 17. Windass, one behind him on 11 is also expected to finish the season one behind on 16. There’s quite a gap following those two with Byers, Dele-Bashiru and Paterson on five. They can expect to bag another two in the remaining 17 games. Bannan and Gregory on four should also grab another two. So, it’s looking unlikely this will be the season we get four over the line. Although as Tank said Byers can’t be ruled out - although five in 17 is asking a lot for a midfielder. Gregory could still make it, Windass’ five in two games shows how quickly a scoring burst from a striker can move things on.
