  1. Wtf is the europa conference league? There's the not Champions League and the Europa League, so what is this other nonsense?
  2. I don't think this one has been suggested but was a beauty. Sheltons overhead kick from near the edge of the box away at Newcastle the season we got promoted to Div 1. Just remember the mayhem when it went in. I was stood right behind the goal more or less in line with him.
  3. Soon as they said 2000 tickets instead of 2800 Iโ€™d struggle. Apparently the game is being shown in the Wednesday tap, but you have to buy a ticket. Might be a decent 2nd best.
  4. IF fully fit heโ€™d start for me. Question is does he have the volume.
  5. I think Sunderland probably had a "good day" as well though, but yes I agree it won't have helped that those that did play weren't 100% ready.
  6. As you say apart from the HMRC situation the question has to be where does this leave us with FFP given the impact of Covid on ourselves and every other club, i.e. do the same rules apply re losses.
  7. It's not a great pic. I was zooming in on the area where grandad and I stood on the Kop in the 70s ๐Ÿ™‚
  8. Not really thought about that aspect but I think you are right Reesh, you can imagine a conversation between NP and DH. Don't get me wrong I wasn't happy when he left and I knew NP would know all about him etc, but I didn't think it was a factor in him signing there but it make sense in terms of looking after him.
  9. Football is all about money these days. I also think David thought he missed a golden opportunity to win something with Man Utd when he wasn't let go. I'm sure he could have earned more but I don't think he was left short. On the face of it he (George) left us without us getting a decent fee, but I'm not blaming him, it's the clubs fault - that's football these days. If I thought he would score sufficient goals to push us forward in whatever league the yes I'd have him back. After all, if he is an Owl you'd have thought he will put a shift in. its not going to happen though. So it's pretty irrelevant really.
  10. We won't know, but if we had a stadium that could accommodate 50k would we sell out? Well I'd say we could, just think of all those that went to Cardiff (and to some degree Wembley in 2016). I know it's ancient history but we've had 50k in Hillsborough for. Div 3 game. btw I'm not suggesting we should have or need a 50k stadium. I think 40-45k is the most we need, even if we were in the PL.
  11. Do you think that bc they donโ€™t think Wycombe will sell many more bc itโ€™s unlike them to be so tight on tickets. Having said that I imagine Wycombe wouldnโ€™t allocate much to MK
  12. Oh well itโ€™s on Sky etc. No way anyone with less than 700 TPP will get a ticket
  13. On balance I think hes done a decent job. Last season was always mission impossible with the squad he inherited and the culture Monk had developed, As many on here have said I think the tinkering with the first 11 at times has been frustrating, particularly in the last third of the season when we/ he should know his best 11. Although, without knowing the ins and outs of player fitness given the injuries weve had it maybe hes been trying to balance things out. As others have said the injuries have been unreal, weve had some really bad patches when hes had to put square pegs in round holes and Johnson in particular has been an example of that. I still think some people havent appreciated what a challenge it has been for the club and DM to get a decent squad together for this season given the restrictions and probably the uncertainty some may have seen from the outside, ie how keen would you be to sign for a club that hasnt paid players wages on time, even if it is a club of our stature. So Id certainly let him try again next season if we fail to get promoted, but Id expect us to be at or near the top from 10 games in. If the performances arent right Id be thinking about a change at Christmas to give someone else a go. However, lets hope we dont need that to happen. The slightly worrying thing whether we are in L1 or not is the amount of change that could happen this summer with loanees and players out of contract. If we are in the Championship it might be an opportunity to step things up, if we are in L1 it might be the same, ie to strengthen where we we struggled to 12months prior. An intriguing summer ahead either way,
  14. Id have thought someone with a half season ticket will have no problem getting a ticket for Wembley IF we get there. So Im sure the fella could wait until it gets to the TPP that she has. Obviously there will be less choice of tickets but still will be good ones. Sound like top people Happy
  15. Things is the pitch needs to be kept decent until weve played our last game of the season. So I dont know why they didnt say that as well as the player wont come back out etc etc. There was some discussion going on with the folk around me on the North about, why isnt there just one semi final at a neutral ground, e.g. Old Trafford etc and the final at Wembley. Whilst I dont think its a bad idea itll never happen because its about money and Sky.
  16. Wednesday: Peacock-Farrell, Palmer, Dunkley (Brennan 28), Johnson, Hunt, Bannan, Dele-Bashiru (Corbeanu 59), Paterson, Wing, Mendez-Laing, Gregory (Adeniran 76) The team isnt quite as threadbare as I recall it being but it was by far our worst performance - that Ive seen this season anyway. The energy levels werent great. As others have said the defence was the weakest part of that team, particularly with Dunkley going off after 28. Dont get me wrong Palmer has done OK as one of the back 3, as per Saturday but if everyone is fully fit he doesnt get in the starting 11 for me. Similarly Johnson has done OK when needs must but as we now know hes so much better as a LWB. Id also have Byers as per now over Wing every day of the week. Byers will go in for any tackle Im not sure Wing did. Sunderland will be pumped up for it but as everyone has said we surely a different prospect now particularly if we can have the likes of Storey, Hutch, Gibson, Dunkley and potentially Dean to pick from. If fit my back 3 would be Storey, Dean (if not fit Hutch) and Gibson
  17. How do Huddersfield manage to unearth the managers theyve had? Id certainly never heard of Corberan or Wagner before they arrived and the Cowleys didnt do a bad job in keeping them up, although we knew about them from their Lincoln exploits. We get the likes of Monk and Pullis.
  18. I agree Ty, as Jim said it was a 'if carlsberg' kind of statement. I really dont like the anti football of Wycombe. Playing MK would make for a much better prospect. The lad Twine is on fire though, so Id want Dean back to marshall him if possible.
  19. Here's my hopes for the next few weeks. The Owls beat Sunderland and get to Wembley to face Wycombe (even though I hate Wycombe). Billy Blunt and his stooges also get into the Playoffs and get through to the final. L**ds get relegated on the last day of the season on GD ๐Ÿคฃ We hammer Wycombe in the playoff final 4-0 with a footballing lesson to the adoration of pundit everywhere, with Ainsworth lording us as Massive. Blunts lose in the play off final on pens, Billy Blunt missing the decisive pen. A few days later the potential pal takeover of the sty and the pigs falls through and agent Heckingbottom resigns as part of cost cutting. I don't think it's too much to ask is it ๐Ÿ˜€
  20. Agreed fecking embarrassing those that ran on the pitch. What on earth that lad with presumably his kid thought he was doing. The players didn't seem to encourage them either, which was good. I suspect it could be different Monday IF we get through to the final.
  21. We got ~2800 tickets at SoL earlier in the season, presumably a similar number will be on offer - it would more or less match what Pompey had today. im hoping I might sneak one with 610 TPP but probably 20% chance at best. Just said on Quest that Broadhead went off injured. We've seen miraculous recoveries for PO games though.
  22. If he wants something useful to do, have a look at PL accounts, they really are pulling every trick in the book and plenty that aren't
  23. I'm personally glad we haven't got drawn against Wycombe. 90mins playing them is bad enough, imagine x2 and maybe extra time. We wont get any more than half the tickets for Wembley IF we make it. I doubt they will have changed the policy on tickets there since we played Dull in 2016. Anyone tempted to start booking travel etc for Wembley. im not going to. I did in 2017 after the first leg. ๐Ÿ™„
  24. Just checked my email, I have a confirmation email which has a PDF on it, I went for the print at home option. I'm sure in the past it's been possible for them to load it on to our season tickets so you don't need to do any printing etc - could be imagining it๐Ÿ˜€
