  1. As an ex York resident I am pleased they are back in the National League. Maybe we will get a friendly up there. like back in 2015(?) As for the shirt 🤢
  2. Well as per another thread, I think Stockdale is a decent signing as I suggested when we debated who we might get. I still would have preferred someone a bit younger that could see us into the Championship for a couple of season, but if he can help win promotion so be it. I'm not doubting he will be an asset next season just would like a longer term approach. Anyway welcome DS.
  3. When I went to see my nephew play the other week for Liverpool academy at BellendRoad Morgan was sat near me. I didn't realise he was an Agent now. Presumably he was looking for young lads to represent. My nephew has just signed for Blackburn, I've no idea whether their academy is any good but it's certainly better for him in other respects.
  4. I like how FDB is developing and I'm hoping he is going to get more appearances this season. I partly agree with ECO he needs to look more of a goal threat. Whilst he took his goal well that I recall him scoring, too often when he gets into advanced positions he seems to snatch at the opportunity or be indecisive, but he's got time on his side.
  5. Is the problem in closing the deal that he has no money! Surely proof of funds blah blah blah should have happened months ago etc. At what point are the EFL going to tell them to they can't start the season? We must be approaching the date when fixture get released and they will need to know they can fulfill the fixture before then. As someone's said on the thread Bury didn't get the same treatment.
  6. Let's just hope we get the vast majority of the squad soon after so we can make a solid start and get the fitness into them. Players coming in with no pre season was part of what caused our long injury list in my view.
  7. The signing of Winnall as backup to let's face it relatively injury prone strikers wasn't the worst piece of business given, as has been said, his scoring record that season was decent. However, I think as we pretty much unanimously agree on here, Rhodes signature for the price and wages was a disaster, particularly if the then manager didn't want him. At the time the money and wages spent on Rhodes could have signed the likes of Abraham on loan or similar without the same kind of upfront money, I'm guessing any PL prospect isn't having their wages paid for by the likes of Bristol. Anyway all history now, the main hope is DC has learnt the lesson and is looking to build progressively.
  8. Wasn't saying he would get us up pal, just suggesting we'd have been challenging. I suspect we'd be unable to do the wheeling and dealing he likes. It'll be interesting to see what WBA do.
  9. I won't read anything in the stir, they've completely pissed me off with some of their articles. It's a shame when you think back to what coverage they gave for the local teams. Any elaboration on what the things were that Bruce was implementing? As much as people didn't like the way Bruce left, including me. I'm pretty sure we would have been challenging all the way to the end of that season when Monk took over and we were 3rd at Christmas. Of course like many of these sliding door moments we'll never know but in my opinion DC had brought that right man in he just couldn't compete with a PL club that was supposedly SBs boyhood club. Unfortunately the useless appointment that came next just didn't have the nouse to follow on what had been started.
  10. 180miles approx 😐 Tbh I wouldn’t be surprised to find the players run 10k in training most days
  11. Can’t argue too much with KWs selection. I’d have gone with Hunt over Palmer. Hunt at his best beats Palmer. Although I think Palmer does get unfair stick at times. Interesting he chooses Bruce, is that more to do with reputation than his time at Wednesday. Although of course he did bring KW back in to the team. I loved FF when he was at the club (most of the time) but Hooper and Fletcher were the best striker partnership. Had Hoops not got injured in2017 we would have been in the PL. I know it’s buts and maybes
  12. Good luck Mr Bassett. As others have said he is one of the few likeable managers they’ve had there.
  13. Bc Sky say so, end of. It is crazy though.
  14. It's obscene isn't it. Although tbh whilst this is quite public the amount of money the privileged in our society get through companies like BP etc is more obscene because of the tax avoidance, no doms etc. So part of me is thinking why shouldn't he, if someone is prepared to pay it. He'll be forgotten in 10years, or at least a vague memory. The rich get richer and all that, the likes of PSG, Madrid etc are in a different universe to most other professional clubs.
  15. Shows how closely I follow the PL these days, largely ignore it other than the occasional glance at MoD if there's been a particularly good game.
  16. Btw I'm not saying I won't be going at all, just not buy a s/t. Excluding the dodgey boxes that ppl can get, given the cost of living crises, could you actually go to the majority of games and watch the midweek games on ifollow for less. If Id renewed earlier I know I could have got it for less but it's broadly the same figure for North Stand where I have sat for the last decade at £535. I've moved a few seat in the North and Kop before that but this is easily the most it's been. So for a 23 game s/t if I go to say 18 @ say £25 a pop that's £450 (spread out over the season) and I'd still have another £85 to spend on ifollow matchday passes. However, yes Sheffblue the absolute supporter buys a s/t
  17. Come on then, why should I renew? I have to admit I'm thinking about it despite my resolution to never buy a league one s/t, only had one last season bc of the multi year shenanigans (won't be doing that again!). Apart from the last home game I have to admit since Xmas the home games have been largely enjoyable and with the right recruits I can see us doing ok again next season. However, it's the fecking pub league and for 99% (if not 100%) of the time I I'll be able to get a ticket for home games and probably a few away games. There also the likelihood that midweek games will be on IFollow for less than half the price, nice warm sofa and a beer when I want to. So why should I?
  18. I mean I think it's pretty clear cut on here but; Citeh or Scousers - Citeh every time for me L**ds, Everton or Burnley to go down - Dirty tvvats, again every time. Although Everton would be a laugh
  19. I understand what you mean but bc of recent history I'd prefer Port Vale
  20. Can’t be any worse than some of the refs we’ve had this season. There on merit
  21. Just been to Bellend Road to see my nephew play for Liverpool v L**ds (u16s). The dirty l**ds were more interested in how Burnley were doing than the game on the pitch - more riding on it I suppose. Cmon Burnley
  22. Whilst EFL don't want to be seen to be the throwing Derby under the bus it stinks how long this has gone on for with little consequence. It's the fans the have to live with the fall out and whilst there is no love lost there it's equally concerning that the EFL don't seem to have a plan for this situation other than to keep kicking the can down the road.
  23. It was discussed on Quest and our mate Colin was suggesting something needs to happen bc it could have been worse. I personally have never felt the need to run on the pitch after a game, seems a bit tinpot to me but if some want to do it that's up to them. However, as we have debated before the stewards are unlikely to stop it happening and no clubs these days are prepared to pay for a big police presence so what is the solution - I can't see fences been put up for what is once a blue moon event. It didn't stop people getting on the pitch back in the day either. whilst I've no love for Sharp I don't think I can condone what happened whomever the player is. Forest need to ban the nob.
