  1. He took his goal well (Hirst), as any Half d cent striker should have, it wasn't th hardest, but you do see them missed. Whilst he looked ok I though Hutch had the back line marshalled well. I noticed Dean wasn't walking freely when they did the lap of honour at the end, I suspect he won't make it for Friday and maybe not Monday, but should we make it to the final he must have a chance because there is such a gap of time to the final.
  2. Same as today If it was up to me, i.e. Sunderland only get the top tier.
  3. Now let me think when have played someone like that at Wembley and played them off the park. Anyway, if we play with the poise and determination of today we shouldn't be worry by anyone. That's some result today by the plastic Dons. The Plymouth fans must be gutted.
  4. Excellent performance from the lads. Sunderland will be a tough opposition but we can beat them
  5. Only positive thoughts and vibes today people - with our support the lads can do it. COME ON WEDNESDAY!
  6. It is interesting the psychological impact of whether you play at home first or second. Particularly if you score first/ win at home then take a lead to the 2nd away leg. im not precious about who we get, but our record against Wycombe is the worst of the potential permutations. So I'd prefer to avoid them, not only bc of our record against them but just the prophecy of seeing their anti football approach. MK, Plymouth and Sunderland play football which we tend to be better. Fingers crossed Wycombe won't even get in the playoffs
  7. Indeed, clubs thinking they can do better etc. It's always a risk changing manager. I know the dingles didn't change theirs when their coach went to Albion but the result has been pretty dramatic. still think diddy Dave let BFR go 2nd time around (and of course appointing Wilson) caused our Prem demise. Even if BFR did lead us to relegation in 90!
  8. So what do we think the atmosphere will be like Saturday?
  9. I'm thinking self important- look at me fvcker already. Well so long as he's equally shite for them as he is for us then it's tolerable
  10. I wonder if someone offered us 82point at the start of the season going into the last game would we have taken it? Probably not but I cant help thinking if we do win on Saturday 85points is a huge tally but not enough in any recent seasons to get autos.
  11. I can see Saturday being a roller coaster. Bringing Windass and NML on Saturday from the bench might be what we need. I suspect Windass isnt ready for a long stint, as per tonight 20mins. so bring on after 60mins. I see Hirst scored 2 tonight. So I agree KM we will need more physical presence with Dean, fingers crossed hes fit.
  12. I agree, if the fecking stand was on fire I wouldnt be trying to get down the stairs Id be on the pitch. Same for some other situations. I wonder if they take that into account in their bloody evacuation models!
  13. Lee Gregory need to be kept in cotton wool now until Saturday, what a guy. Great to see Windass out on the pitch, could've scored late on with that left foot scuffed shot.
  14. Even Morecombe have to get something to be sure of staying up. For a neutral its a superb prospect. For the rest of us, bloody nail biting. At least Pompey were playing tonight and have a decent trip to come here which adds to the tiredness. Im also hoping they will have lifted their game for the last home game but wont be quite as keen Saturday - I know, wishful thinking
  15. Yeah I read it as that, potentially a few things but Id suggest most likely the bottom tier of the West Stand. As you say might be sections in the North etc but I honestly find that hard to believe because of the known standing issues in the North - how do you make a case with that context. I guess we'll find out soon enough. I guess it will also be a test for the playoff semi-final game - IF we make it.
  16. You can thanks me later. I decided to go to the gym tonight and wasnt going to watch, even though it was on iFollow. Anyway, I crumbled and decided to watch. As you can imagine I wasnt impressed at the score when I clicked on the match centre. So I thought what the hell Im in for it now. Anyway logged in and Windass is just coming onto the pitch. What followed was amazing, even for Wednesday. Saturday is going to be a right nail biter.
  17. Would you take any of them if we get promoted - if we got the chance?
  18. If we lose Tuesday we will still have a chance. I'd have thought folk will still turn up even if it's to burn their torches and brandish their pitch forks. i wonder if Windass has a chance of an appearance next weekend. If I was DM, I'd be prepared to put him on the bench if he's anywhere near fit because he's capable of grabbing a goal, as we've seen from his cameo appearances earlier this season
  19. Our performances and results against the bottom clubs could be described as mixed. Yes we beat Crewe and Donny, but we've also only drawn with Wimbledon and Gillingham and lost to Lincoln, Shrewsbury and Morecombe. So there not much to encourage us from that little lot. However, some of the poorer results are from near the start of the season when we were effectively a new team and there's also some from when we were decimated ny injuries. On the positives we seem more solid defensively now we've got the majority of the squad back which is a contrast to some of the games we have played against the lower placed clubs. The results also seem to indicate we fair better against the footballing team as opposed to the high energy hoofball merchants. Finally, we can beat good teams away from home, see MK Dons and Wigan, so there should be no reason to think we can't do this, with that team to select from and motivation. Im going to suggest we will win 3-0. I think DM will make changes, potentially Hunt back in and if Deans fitness is 100% he'll replace Dunkley and finally maybe Byers in for Luongo or Dele-Bashiru. Come on Wednesday put the pressure back on the other clubs!
  20. Anyone seen the Fleetwood goal from yesterday and how it cam about 😂
  21. Fair enough. Anything to demean the scabs though. They think they are something special. No Clough was special and if it wasnt for him they'd be on the same scale as Bristol City or Plymouth, i.e. never won owt and never likely to.
  22. Maybe, but he's unproven in the Championship, or you could say he has a relegation on his CV. If he gets us promoted, I suppose its possible, slim likelihood though. Cue SB getting sacked etc!
  23. I've just watched the extended highlights back and I know its only going to give you an impression of the game but I think you are probably right KM re the performance and how Wycombe performed as well. As you say Josh Windass could have been the difference if he'd played He scored what we thought might be the winner at Hillsboro. The more I look at the disallowed goal the more I feel it should probably have been given but Im also thinking its not as clearly a shambolic ref decision as I originally thought, Still, I think if it had been the other way about it would have been given! As for the handball, lets just say I think it would have been a pen in the Premier League. Re the tinkering with the squad as MK says it seems like the logical thing to do when there are Sat/ Tues games but football isnt logical. The only thing Id say, I dont think I would have picked a different team. Yes, you might pick Dean if he is 100% fit and maybe NML might have been swapped for Palmer/ Hunt, but basically I agree with DMs selection. Anyway I think we absolutelt need to win Tuesday, even if its not essential, just so it put more pressure on the other clubs in the chase on the final day because I don think Portsmouth will be a push over. Im just hoping Windass will be fit enough for the playoffs, I think we are going to need him, judging by how we are struggling a bit to score. We can do it. UTO!
  24. It's pretty pointless though, particularly with the refs in this division. So best just accept and crack on.
