  1. Ipswich losing at Wycombe, Plymouth being held at home by Morecambe, Dingles one up v Burton. Need to take advantage second half and hope the top two drop points. Dingles are quietly going about their business and are on a good run. Need to win to keep that points difference between us both.
  2. Paterson needs to be careful - the ref’s incompetence has already got him booked.
  3. Maybe we ought to start playing to the strengths of the strikers we have, rather than think about bringing in others. I don’t think our strikers are the problem.
  4. Lacklustre, pedestrian, clueless performance. We looked shit at Derby last week and it’s continued today. Absolute wank Wednesday!
  5. Didn’t deserve to win that and could easily have lost at the end. Another manager outsmarts Moore!
  6. Their work rate, pressing game and closing us down has been really impressive. I was hoping they might begin to tire but if anything they are the fitter side now and look most likely to score. We don’t have any answers to them, which is worrying!
  7. Poor delivery from set pieces and poor choices/decision making in the last third. It’s been our Achilles heel all season and has cost us 2 points today. If we could address this (and possibly up our tempo a bit) we’d win this league, as our all round play is generally solid and we don’t have any problem working the ball into the last third. Another frustrating outcome and more points gone begging.
  8. I got so pissed after the game that I didn’t go to work the following day, as I thought it was Sunday (the game was played on a Sunday). When I eventually got up and went downstairs I discovered the house to be empty. I thought I’d done something stupid the night before and that my wife had left me, taking the little ‘un with her - but because I’d been so pissed I had no recollection of anything. I immediately rung her and that was when I discovered that it was actually Monday, not Sunday, and that she was at work and the little ‘un was at school - and of course I then realised I should have been at work. I absolutely bricked it and rung work apologetically - but when I spoke to my boss, instead of rollocking me he burst out laughing, told me to go back to bed to sleep off my hangover, and take the day off as leave! To say I was relieved was an understatement! I thought I was going to get a disciplinary! 😂
  9. I was just thinking that after giving Moore a pasting for his subs mid-week, I haven’t acknowledged that he got them right today. So for that he deserves praise.
  10. Only one goal for him today - honeymoon period clearly now over. I’d drop him! 😂
  11. Missed a 1 off. It was near on 18 yards. Windass still should have hit the target, or forced a save regardless of whether it was 8 yards, 12 yards or 18 yards. What a goal Bannan! Game, set and match now!
  12. Gregory taking a touch to stop Bannan slotting it in was bad, but for Windass to then shoot over from 8 yards immediately after was a shocker! Hope we don’t go on to regret these missed chances!
  13. Agree. Carroll on his day is the nearest English striker I’ve seen to Haaland. But Carroll was nowhere near as consistent, and also not as good. And as much as I love Hirsty, and I do see the resemblances in relation to pace and raw power, this kid seems to be out on his own. I’ve never seen a striker like him before. I can’t see a weakness in his game, and it seems not many professionals can either, as so far in the PL he’s been unstoppable. I love watching him play.
  14. Someone mentioned on here last night that we have played the current top 7 sides in the league, yet we’ve taken just 5 points from those games. Why is that, when we’ve got arguably the best squad and first team XI in this division? As the saying goes, you’re only as strong as your weakest link - and for me it’s blatantly obvious where that is. I don’t want to be calling for the head of our manager and I hate doing that sort of thing, especially as I like and respect Moore as a person - but if he doesn’t learn, and learn quickly, we’ll be making posts similar to these, calling him out on his tactics and on the pitch decisions, for the remainder of the season. And it may well cost us promotion.
  15. Even the Plymouth fans are questioning our substitutions! 😡
  16. It’s just Groundhog Day with Moore. A couple of good games, you think we’ve turned the corner…… ….and then wham, another kick in the nads due to suicidal tactics/decisions! I’m absolutely sick and fucking tired of it!
  17. Been a good game to watch so far. Both sides going for it, played in the right spirit with minimum shithousery. I’d say we’ve just about edged it and if we were better with the ball in the final third might even be in front. All to play for second half.
  18. Imagine just how good we would be if we could cross well?
  19. Workmanlike performance and we’ve come away with the points. All that matters. Well done Wednesday! 👏
  20. Thinking about how to define the game so far and Kiwi Owl has hit the nail on the head - a very flat performance so far. Need to see a bit more get up and go second half.
