owl4ever1867 Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Absolutely fantastic! Superb performance. The only downer on the afternoon is the potential injury to Bannan, I pray that it's not his hamstring Quote
Kiwi Owl Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 (edited) Perfect performance to end the season Could have been 7 or 8 had it not been for their keeper. If I was Darren Moore, I'd be on the phone to Manchester City asap enquiring about him for next season Sunderland in the play offs, that'll be a fun game. They'll be in for a shock if they think it'll be another 5-0 for them. We have a defence now Edited April 30, 2022 by Kiwi Owl Quote
OptimisticOwl Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Good to see Bannan back on the pitch after the game there. hopefully it was just a bit of cramp. 3 Quote
HappyOwl Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 (edited) Sorry if it’s on twice tried at the match but don’t think it posted absolutely beautiful scene. 💙💙💙💙💙💙 Edited April 30, 2022 by HappyOwl 2 Quote
Tank_Owl2,0 Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Excellent performance from the lads. Sunderland will be a tough opposition but we can beat them Quote
MPB Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Think Bannan just had cramp....although he was rubbing the back of his left leg....so comin off was a precaution....he's got almost a full week to get back to tip top.... Quote

HoylandOwl Posted April 30, 2022 Author Posted April 30, 2022 Just got back about 40 mins ago. wow. That was astonishingly good at times, bar the first 5 minutes. Some of the movement and passing was beyond anything we’ve seen this season … ok maybe MK… Byers was tremendous, so deserved his goal. Gregory’s lob would have been the cherry on his performance. Luongo never stopped. Palmer played well too, made some good runs forward and stretched the pitch in the first half, and they didn’t know what to do with the overloads down that side. Spoke to their boss after, and one of their players and they wished us well in the playoffs. Both said we were by far the best side they’d played this season by a long chalk. Mr Cowley was purring about Bannan, but it’s nothing we’ve not heard from him before. I wish I could get on Friday night, but I’ll definitely be back on Monday. I’m got getting too giddy yet, not at all, but that today was class. 4 Quote
Hirstys 12th Pint Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Until reading Hoyland post not really stopped to consider how well we played against a decent side. Good team performance and would personally give Luongo man of match as he really bossed the game during the 3 goal spell. 1 Quote

Some of the stuff was sublime....Gregory nearly scored the goal of the season....the ball in...the take down and the lob deserved a goal... Quote
Mark Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Never mind his goal, I thought Gregory was absolutely outstanding. A word on Hirst, although he wasn't involved that much, he looked a danger at this level 1 Quote

cheat Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 The fact that we’ve just beaten one of the form sides 4-1 (albeit with nothing to play for for them) should not be overlooked. We are a good side. We can do this. Come on Wednesday. Quote

Tank_Owl2,0 Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 He took his goal well (Hirst), as any Half d cent striker should have, it wasn't th hardest, but you do see them missed. Whilst he looked ok I though Hutch had the back line marshalled well. I noticed Dean wasn't walking freely when they did the lap of honour at the end, I suspect he won't make it for Friday and maybe not Monday, but should we make it to the final he must have a chance because there is such a gap of time to the final.
