Billysboy
Never forget that 1st goal he scored in the BDM and the one at blackburn to secure promotion the same season, both sent a 20 year old me hysterical, RIP spider.
M42Owl
Many footballing memories have faded and gone, but that BDM opener is etched in the memory and is as fresh as if it was yesterday. Thanks Spider. RIP.

owl71
RIP. I don’t think I ever saw him play. My first two games were at the end of his final season, but by then the two forwards was some combination of Pearson, Mculloch and Bannister.
Owling_Wolf
Very sad news. RIP Ian. I missed those two iconic matches through working abroad back then, though saw some games whilst home on leave. I remember meeting him later on when he was working as a sales rep in Sheffield. He visited my Sheffield firm twice before going to play in Hong Kong. He came across as a really nice bloke. More recently I got to have a brief chat with him at a fan function at Hillsborough.
