Watford match thread,

Got cheated down there and would be nice to get back within 3 points before we face Huddersfield

If there's one club that you wonder why the hate, Watford is one of those

I certainly haven't forgotten their supporters behaviour on the old rivals board after the two lads' tragic car accident after Coventry many years ago.

We need 30 points from our next 18 games, and I’d say we need to win our next two from a psychological aspect.

This is very much a winnable game. And then it would be good to go into the Huddersfield game with extra bodies to freshen things up.

Our Head To Head Record v the stripey stingy twats.

Wednesday wins 15

Draws 11

Twatford wins 24

Our 'recent' record at home V them is ....Abysmal.

We've lost 3, drawn 1.

Here we go...

0-0 draw, 0-3 loss, 1-4 loss, 1-4 loss.

Our last win at home v them was back in 2010.

Eddie Nolan gave us a 56th minute lead, before 12 mins later, Tom Cleverly equalised... However. Luke Varney bagged a 89th minute winner and was then subbed off.

Wednesday team: Grant, Spurr, Purse, Beavers, Nolan, Miller (Clarke 31), Potter, O Connor, Soares (Jeffers 88), Tudgay, Varney (Gray 89).

Officials for the game.

Referee: TOM NIELD
Assistants: Mark Stevens and Robert Hyde
Fourth Official : Rebecca Welch

Tom Neild's record this season so far

17 games. 68 Yellow cards. 1 red.

Change of ref and 4th official. That Rebecca Welch again.

Referee - Rebecca Welch

Assistant Referee 1 - Mark Stevens

Assistant Referee 2 - Blake Antrobus

Fourth Official - Geoff Eltringham

Must have changed then as she was definitely down as the 4th on the EFL website yesterday.

FFS

She is a woman, clearly changing her mind every 5 minutes

Only seen the last 15 mins. Thanks to an Asda delivery driver hitting Mrs MKs car out and about.

How they didn't score two I don't know, that was unlucky from Ugbo.

She is strange this ref, misses an obvious foul on Johnson then books him for a nudge.

Pitch is shocking

What a bizarre half.

Really good with the ball until it gets to the last second when it’s the cross or a shot. But, Windass, Gassama and Ugbo have been very good. As has Valentin.

But, Bannan well and truly bailed Beadle out after the worst footwork I’ve ever seen from a goalkeeper. And the open goal miss was a sitter.

We’ve missed some good chances. But look very dangerous especially with Bannan, Gassama and Bannan constantly swapping.

If we score, we’ll get two or three.

Sick of that ref. But should have won that, feels like one of those games that we will have regrets. They are trying their best and Beadle made a decent save. Just such a struggle to click up front

That no second booking forPolllock is indefensible and cost is the win

She bottled that decision for sure. Tbf she was better than the chap for the Coventry game but she is so inconsistent.

Overall that was a huge missed opportunity. Our lack of quality in and around the box, set piece delivery is still lacking

Still not convinced that Palmer and Bannan as the central midfield is any type of solution

Thank goodness that's over, two very poor sides on show tonight. 0-0 is probably a true reflection of the game.

Quite frankly that open goal they missed and Smiths awful header summed up the quality both sides have up front. One of those games where both sides could have been playing till Saturday and neither team would score.

It wasn't like either side tried to give each other the win with some questionable defending and some poor decisions in the middle leading to chances.

Point is the only positive from this evening, given we lost a similar game this season at home to Caerdydd in the league

I don't think it cost us a win saying that. We were not creating enough and too often the cross is lacking, too often if the cross is good the header is rubbish, even Wilks at the end, do the hard bit of turn the defender then fuck up the shot.

Agree on the poor quality, the pitch is not helping but it drags the opposition down to our level at least

Famewo scares the life out of me, he must have had 4 assists for chances, sadly for Watford.

Saturday is a huge game and whether we can get a least a bit of quality in is crucial.

It’s crying out for a striker and a defensive midfield player, a striker is the difference between staying up and going down.

We were the better side, created great opportunities and just don’t have a nine that offers that kind of movement to score a goal or open space for someone else. Case in point, Michael Smith. What did he offer when he came on?

The defensive midfield player is critical to Bannan. Bannan’s range tonight was brilliant and made better by the fact that we have runners from wide and from full back who want to get behind people.

This next 24 hours is literally going to determine the division we are in next season. We need someone to come in and 10 goals from 17 games, because we have the other pieces from an attacking sense.
