  1. We would still need a point, unless we happen to beat WBA 20-0.
  2. Leeds beating Middlesbrough 3-2 at HT, unless Boro win their season is done and only Coventry and Hull (who play in a couple of days) will be able to catch West Brom.
  3. During the first season of VAR, there was a lot of criticism for the way that lines were being drawn for offside decisions. The response to that criticism was to stop showing the process rather than to improve it. Their response to appearing incompetent is only to censor.
  4. No one seems to talk about the margin of error. You cannot have a margin of error of ~10cm then make decisions by the millimetre.
  5. 50 points might be enough for some, but not when you’re the side with the worst goal difference. We need at least a point against WBA or we’ll be guaranteed to be below the dotted line before the final fixtures kick off, but I think we might need all 3.
  6. Unless we see something different in the second half then I don’t think we win today.
  7. Would be even funnier if him getting a CL medal while a Man Utd player triggered a bonus payment in his transfer from Dortmund.
  8. I think limiting the number of challenges over the course of a season is the way to go with that, to stop it being used frivolously or for time wasting. If you were only permitted ten or so incorrect challenges then you’d have to be pretty certain that the decision was wrong. The real challenge is stopping teams just requesting more and more because it will make the game worse.
  9. That’s a lot better than what goes on at the moment. Even if it’s just the cameras (believe they are 240fps rather than the 60fps ones used in the PL), that cuts the margin of error in 4. But any decision taken out of the hands of VAR officials improves the game.
  10. So just need to beat Stoke by 6 clear goals. Also, West Brom now look like they’ll have secured a playoff place before we play them. That could be helpful.
  11. I’d be much more worried if he’s on the radar of someone like Leverkusen. I really doubt Röhl will leave for another Championship club.
  12. I don’t believe that at all. In Röhl’s first match you could see the style of play that he wanted to impose and if he’d had a pre-season, the squad would have been in a much better position to execute it. As for recruitment, admittedly there’s not much to go off, but he’s signed four players and three of them are key players already.
  13. That table is more than acceptable given the last two fixtures we’ve had.
  14. I just don’t understand the argument that our owner needs to be replaced because he hasn’t answered a question on payment methods for season tickets.
  15. So if the club goes bust and can’t fulfil fixtures, you’re worried about getting your money back?
  16. And would be denied another one shortly afterwards for a much more obvious handball, though I can understand why it was missed in real time.
