  1. Hopefully he realises how crucial this appointment is, if he gets it wrong, I doubt the chants will be for only the manager to leave.
  2. If that happens, I expect the conduct of Newcastle (along with Chelsea) to be scrutinised in the same way that German journalists do for Man City.
  3. You forgot the representative for the angry old man. Although, speaking of a diverse/out there hire, it wouldn’t surprise me if someone takes a chance and appoints Emma Hayes.
  4. The reason he did so well at Rangers is now manager of Rangers. Once Beale left Villa it all went to shit.
  5. Not quite. But I do think we’re heading for a high risk approach. I don’t think we’ll be spending anywhere near what we did then, but we pretty much need a new first XI if we’re going to be challenging. Chansiri has said that no potential manager has ever said the squad is bad, but if anyone responds in an interview that we have any more than a couple of players who are capable of holding their own in a promotion chasing side, they’re lying. I suspect that’s what Pulis did, bullshit in the interview just to get a last payday. I hope that doesn’t work with Chansiri anymore, but if Moore ended up leaving because he was realistic about our chances next season then I worry how things will turn out. Honestly, if we’re no longer a Championship side in 12 months time, I don’t think it’ll be because we’ve had a great season.
  6. Viera would be a sensational appointment, but I think he did enough at Palace to warrant a job higher up the pyramid than us. Lage would be good too, but again, probably not going to come to us. Gerrard, without Beale, I don’t think that would work.
  7. If the right person came along I’d want him to sell, but there are worse owners out there. I think his comments last night suggest he needs promotion to the PL as soon as possible and it worries me that we’re heading down the same path that we did when he first joined.

  9. I had a dream (not like Martin Luther King or Carlos) a few weeks ago and whilst I don’t remember the dream itself, I do remember the feeling of waking up believing we’d been promoted to the Championship. Unfortunately, this occurred between the 1st and 2nd legs of the playoff semi-final and what I then had was the realisation that we were 4-0 down and the season was all but done. I woke up this morning with the same sinking feeling. It’s not just that we’ve lost a good manager and a good man, it’s that after having such a quick turnaround to do transfer business already, we’ve wasted what will probably turn out to be around a month and all but confirmed that a season that was looking so positive will be one of struggle.
  10. Well run football clubs have shortlists of alternatives for players and key staff. We on the other hand…
  11. Those markets are small and easily influenced though. Stick £50 on anyone and they’re suddenly second favourite.
  12. 1. The way they’ve announced it as mutual consent make this seem unlikely, unless Moore was out of contract and so no compensation. 2. I think it’s this, Chansiri not giving enough resources or control. 3-4. I don’t think these are likely, Chansiri seems too passive. 5. We’re not that lucky.
  13. Chansiri really didn’t want questions about kit prices.
