  1. How many games were cat A £44 last time? First game of season against Bristol City and there was an outcry then. I then think we never got there again? Hovering around B/C/D and 1/2 lowest category or £10 a game specials? DC justification at time was the range of category allowed flexibility based on how we were performing and demand for tickets. Something to do with the rule of setting tickets prices before season starts? He also wanted to fleece away fans- suspect limited capacity as highlighted options to do this again. Didn’t we then get taken to court because away fans challenged the classification of the Lepping lane as the south stand! Lol Just really could of nailed it this season such an own goal. Let’s see the calibre of player.. wages get ignored by fans so freebies as seen as cheap.
  2. You’re not wrong - my argument why a Luton / Brentford / Bournemouth success model is harder to achieve here is due to the weight of fan “expectations” which I think at times cripples players here. Nothing wrong with high expectations of course but as the years tick on realism needs to kick in! Mind everyone saying consolidation - it’s only the chairman saying play offs 🤣
  3. There’s a few rankings been done over years about how to rate clubs by success - trophies won, combined league positions, points accumulated - and to be fair we always come out in the top 25% of these “ranks” from what I’ve seen. Indeed we fair well on attendance based scorings. As club we maybe able to pull 40k or indeed more. But we’ve never really done 30k averages consistently this side of the war. I think it’s easily achievable though if we have some actual success in the next 5 years, be that a replica of last season in the championship as we storm to promotion or at least the first 2 season in the PL. If we found a sustainable formula that sees us achieve high mid table the odd Europe push b2b in PL over 5 year period then I think 40k plus at home could be easily done in todays football. But Villa have had 30plus averages consistently for decades with odd blip .. plus were over 30k throughout their spell in championship - but they’ve been a PL league team whilst we’ve been bumping about championship and league 1 mediocrity for 23 years.
  4. Nicked from stalk .. “Won the league title in Georgia Got Watford promoted from the championship in his first season second season they were 14th after 7 games, they sacked him which was considered one of the most ridiculous sackings in premier league history at the time. Ranieri and Hodgson failed to do better and Watford were relegated that season. Led Huesca from relegation zone to 13th in first season Went to Cyprus and new owners came in and replaced him”
  5. I’ll happily subscribe to that definition
  6. WTID podcast on Twitter interesting fans. Pretty sure their ones who caused havoc around the dingles game claim on DC. They were spouting averages of a league 1 v championship pay. 180 v 800 Basically again stacking the cards against then chairman like they did post dingles. Based on the above the idea Moore was on 3.4K a week is laughable. If he was 8k a week at Donny, he was easily 9k (468k) here if not more .. him wanting close to 36k wage (1.8mil) and linked to 3 year plus an increase across all staff.. If he’d got us that automatic spot and our first league title in 5 plus decades .. maybe.
  7. We all had doubts on Moore. He was a few minutes indeed seconds short of probably getting the sack this season. If I was Moore I’d want that security of a pay off equated over a 3 year contract if we were languishing lower mid by October with lots of fans berating DC for sticking with him . Moore stock is high! DC always said some would agree some wouldn’t with the decision. But what strikes me - it’s the same characters who berate the chairman. They came for him when Pulis was sacked - DC fault - eventually Pulis admit wasn’t quite true They came for him when the playboy with plane was the best thing since slice bread - turned out the chancer had no cash and crashes Derby almost.
  8. Oh and the Q&A is really clear and defo sorts out the season ticket offer .. it’s was one of our fans who asked if he would do it! He's said yes I would and the journalist can broadcast it. He then gets abuse for agree with a fans request!!
  9. Palmer comments and Chansiri Q&A make sense to me. It’s clear DC timeline and DM timeline for success differ. DC comments about “stay in the championship and die” and that some fans would agree and disagree with both parties but all would agree to the rationale as to why it was indeed mutual. My guess is DC wanted rolling contract and quicker success say an outside chance this year and definite chance the following. DM wanted consolidation this, stronger the follow and promotion in 4th year outside chance 3rd. Alongside contracts to reflect that approach. Trouble is it’s DC’s cash in end. I can’t see it being about transfers unless it’s the reverse of the above - which if it was DM wouldn’t walk.
  10. We all forget DC paid cash for Moore when he prided him away from Donny.
  11. Just been sent this: Hi mate, just played golf with **** & *******! According to **** it’s all about length of contract! Pre FGR, when we were top of the league, it was agreed in principle for new long term contracts for DM & his staff on automatic promotion! When we blew auto’s half of the senior management team wanted to sack them all & go into the playoffs with a new manager. DC wasn’t one of them. After the first leg nightmare at Peterborough 3 of the 4 senior management team wanted them gone but DC stuck with them but made it clear what the consequences were for failure! After Wembley it was agreed to meet up & discuss new contracts after everyone had had a few days holiday. Talks were held over the weekend & DC wouldn’t move from another one year rolling contract for everyone. DM & his staff wanted longer but DC wouldn’t budge!
  12. Who are the best owners out there at the moment? Who are the worst? Chansiri not in either bracket by the way - I think he’s a reasonable owner who as shown his willingness to spend and his willingness to be supportive but frugal. He’s labelled as making football too expensive at S6 but I look at our attendances under him and historically it tells a different story to the one you hear all the time on Facebook and Stalk!
  13. Wrapped up 11:45 by all accounts .. fans will moan he never communicates. He has said he’ll give his view on Moore if Moore talks. Pretty much he kept to that line most of night. Big issue is expectations for me - DC wants a challenge - DM wanted survival. Pretty sure that was same discussion with Monk. Also said he hopes we don’t have to Google the next manager … oh the days of research Jos!! And convincing ourselves he was a grey choice Lol We all know the loudest complainers about prices never go, £17 a game at £400 .. works out £25 if you only make 16. £40 a month plus admin fee on plan? Would have to open bottom of Lep though or open the full north stand up to get 30k in easily.
  14. Chansiri holds the forum tomorrow then fair play .. we all know the first question! Why put yourself in firing line on purpose? Unless there are bigger things afoot. Thank you Moore for finally achieving something with us - we all had a cracking ride away at Portsmouth when we thought that was it! And none of us will forget all 3 playoff games this season ever! But also I’ll never forget FGR away either!! Anyway truth will come out one day and in the meantime Chansiri haters will spout their bile as well. Right whose next? Dean Smith Nathan Jones Frank Lampard Steve Gerrard Bruno Lage Michael Duff Benito Carbone Or a return of Carlos?
  15. Please get 2/3 players who have pace, alongside some skill.. it make all difference in some games. Got to remember Moore took WBA to the edge of promotion in this league so it clear he’s capable. Tbh I can see some owners sniffing around him this coming season.
  16. Under the cosh boys were giving us some stick from clips I’ve seen.
  17. Great engine - was told in summer Blackpool players were surprised he was allowed to go out on loan.
  18. A good read that highlights nothing non of us don’t know - but may struggle to recall. I think the best part is the linkage of Stockdale under cosh quote about needing players to handle the expectations that come with us, especially after failed 1 year return the season before. This links the age / experience / pressure / expiring contract debates we’ve had through the season especially when the wheels were coming off! The wages comparison of league 1 dominance to possible the 16th largest in the championship are interesting as we spent less on transfer fees these last 2 season we clearly ramped up wages to reward older professionals. Playing for Luton is not the same as playing for Wednesday is the simple fact! Expectations levels are far far lower - rightly or wrongly - the idea we can replicate just because is hard to see today. Looking forward to the incoming transfers.
  19. So players didn’t shout anything about them lot I take? Hopefully not.
  20. Few left to be bought reckon a good 100
  21. The club communication on this as been low key when it comes to “we’ve asked for more”. That statement suggest they are asking for more and the Barnsley allocation announcement was phrased in a such a way that it suggested more could be allocated to us. I would remain hopeful we could be given at least 40k. Very least the club as grounds to complain on behalf of the fans regards the initial lower allocation to us. Good to luck to all attempting in next 24 hours I hope more come up! That said club Wembley packages are still out there. Also I guess you could argue knowing a single and getting one of their 5 extras could be worth a try?
  22. Awful away day Reading if am being honest. Mind I’ll probably end up going next season if we don’t go up
  23. Heard these rumours as well - but also been told by someone with strong connections they are not .. who knows.
  24. Not that many given back when you look at tickets site - but then the Lep lower not really selling out as planned 31k I think based on sold tickets. Actual real people who turn up reckon more 28k. Longer distance fans may sack off the effort on a Thursday night.
