  1. Squad depth via loan market for when things got rough with injuries and the thing we’ve needed for a long term - lack of pace.
  2. I think the point about u23 and the loan market from the stats is when it came to the end of the season did our players have the hunger and health to keep up? Hunger not helped by the contract situation / Health not helped by the age situation? IMHO we should of done more with the loan market - one thing about a loan player - they may not care about what the next season will be like at that club but they lap up the experience and possibly glory that big games can bring. The host club and fans being beneficiaries of that effort - yes assuming you get a good one.
  3. There’s a table out there at moment which shows number of minutes u23 players played in season per club. Plymouth Barnsley and Peterborough hover around 18000 to 19000 Bolton 15000 minutes. Ipswich are low down at 8000 ish indeed their 3rd bottom. However we are rock bottom 4000 minutes off second bottom Wycombe, on just 2076.
  4. I think we were the first top 6 team to win down there this season? Or so I heard. As a team we’ve been rocked by results and injuries to key personnel recently and to grind out the result the way we did Tuesday can be called whatever Joey wants to call it. If an Moore of that for the last 3 / 6 games and it may yet end up being a successful season! Whatever happens Moore must learn from this period and understand the complexity of keeping a big squad motivated in better detail! Oh and find 4 pacy bloody players next season!
  5. WTID have piled on pressure with a fragile fan base at moment. They have done a great job here haven’t they - driving a wedge between the fans at the very time there was no need to throw fuel on the fire that our fan base at moment. All of us are struggle to hold our tongue in the grounds at the moment as soon as we have a hiccup on the pitch!
  6. 100% Loads of confirmation bias flying around on Twitter. All those who “hate” DC are happy as Larry with this rumour. Churning out all the old stuff wrapped up in the new rumour. Our downturn in fortune corresponds with injuries, an awful away day at FGR not aided by a team adjustment where fringe players during our run never stepped up, lack of focus at the back as much as the chairman walking into the dressing room before or after game.
  7. That’s a fair shout! The team need to sit down and process yesterday. Vaulks was saying at the end - we know we know… Well I truly hope the whole team know. 9 cup finals remain
  8. Everyone was shocked at the zero effort and inability to try anything different. The amount of times we passed it around at the back was frustrating for zero impact. Against Barnsley the defeat was taken in good grace because we all knew the team tried. Today the only one player I thought made a real effort to do something to make an impact was Gregory. Today was like the old Wednesday team / going through the motions. Dreading Wednesday night now tbh.
  9. Awful outcome, but it would appear from the story there was something else contributing to his decision not related to his reckless behaviour on the day of the match.
  10. Imagine the government investing in the public sectors responsible for our borders & immigration - ensuring they are properly staffed and funded so they can correctly monitor and get applications processed in a timely fashion. But why do that when you can spark a lovely culture war and over inflate the issue of immigration to win an election and get idiots to accuse anyone who agree with Gary that this policy is the wrong response to current situation as being a lefty or a communist or unpatriotic! Economic migrants - a few poster on here have been that in other countries - but we call them “expats”
  11. I got my head around the 6 minute injury time in first half sort of BUT not with regards the second half 6 minutes injury time. 12 minutes extra yesterday - it feels increasingly like Ref are extending the length of the game these days!
  12. A nice 3 point please ! Be a red hot atmosphere down there today I suspect. Now where’s my taxi! UTO
  13. Momentum is a marvellous thing though - shouldn’t be underestimated.
  14. Read an interesting view point. In Manchester you one half of the fans fuming with their owners regard the leverage debt model. The lack of infrastructure investment - arguably less of an issue the playing side. However these fans feel their owners have effectively asset stripped the club whilst doing that player investment. The PL seem to be not bothered. The other half have seen their owners transform the team - with player investment and infrastructure investment that by all accounts as transformed the East side of Manchester. This being done with the owners own cash. The PL are outrage by this approach. Now I know it’s about the consequences of this and above is a simplistic view - esp Man City ground being built by the council etc However, (Covid difficulties aside) our own owner found himself penalised and the club punished for using too much of his own cash to fuel success - from what to most sensible fans is a solid financial background. Arguably this left our owner unwilling to invest more in infrastructure than he probably intended. I form the view point DC would if allowed to spend been keener to upgrade parts of the ground quicker. Anyway thought it was an interesting view of the current situation and i see some parallels with our recent history regards finances.
  15. To be honest I thought the world was full of fantastic future prospective football owners. Clearly this future pig owner is an example of such!
  16. Getting Hillsborough back to a regular 40,000 stadium would be sufficient. That would mean a redeveloped Lep. If we maximise the back of the North for a greater dedicated fan-zone experience / remove the gym and relocate the shop / ticket office to across the road into one of the retail units to be built / already existing where screw fix is - this would free up space. Removal of the gym and laying it out differently would allow a new exit route from the North. That in turn relieves the pressure from behind the Lep and allows for new enhanced designed to accommodate more fans.
  17. The common thread between the 2 games is that majority of the base came on busses. Both games played on days when no public transport to the city really existed. This meant they were all dumped on the ground similar times. All wanted refreshment, and toilet at similar times. Had trains been on, lots more would of been around town - eating and drinking and not needing the concourse. I think that where the issue as arisen, alongside MK point about many won’t have gone to away matches as much - esp the Vale lot.
