Reesh Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/ryszards-walk-100-miles-challenge-giving-page My great grandma and the bloke who raised me both lost their fight with this awful disease and any donations would be gratefully received, I start tomorrow and with the dog we usually do about 40 miles a week so should have this done before the clocks go back! Cheers 4 Quote
HoylandOwl Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 I lost my Uncle with it a few years back and my mum in law was taken by it too, so I'll chuck a bit in mate. All the best with your efforts, good on yer. 1 Quote
EpworthOwl Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 Well played Reesh. Just chipped in for this worthy cause. I've lost all of my immediate family to the bastard! 1 Quote
Supercockle Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 Likewise, I’ve chucked a bit in. Well done mate. Quote
Andyben Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 (edited) FFS it's WALK a hundred Miles. Misread it and wondered how you were going to measure it? Number of Strokes x average length most obvious. No need to send me the video proof now @Reesh Edited October 6, 2022 by Andyben 4 Quote
Reesh Posted October 6, 2022 Author Posted October 6, 2022 12 plus miles today. Hoping to be half way through the 100 miles by Saturday evening. Cheers 2 Quote
tomcore Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 I lost my mum to cancer when she was only 50. Good luck Reesh and well done raising money for a great charity. I sent a few pounds. On a side note, walking is also wonderful for mental health. I used to challenge myself to 10k steps before 10am while I was struggling and it really helped me. Being active and walking with he odd good morning or even a stop and chat. 2 Quote

Aye but the dog keeps me sane Even other folks' dogs leave me (and their owners) with a smile when I'm out walking, like this morning. They're the easiest way to break the ice and have a laugh with strangers. Most respond in that way. 1 Quote

I desperately need to get out and exercise in the new year. I’m having issues with my Achilles at the moment though. I probably need to get an X-ray as it feels like it’s frayed (ruptured twice before) 2 Quote
