Tylluan Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Warburton is credited by many as the man behind West Ham's Europa Conference success last season but left at the end of last season to pursue 'more senior opportunities'. They haven't turned up yet. He's readily admitted he's had disagreements with Moyes and that's kinda followed him around his managerial career. His roles at Brentford, Rangers, and Forest all ended due to internal disagreements with owners/management Quote

Otto_Man Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Not sure that tells the full story Ty, recall he left Brentford because they wanted to start doing the Moneyball thing and he wasn't down for that and at Rangers they said he resigned and he said he didn't?! As for Forest, believe he was appointed by one owner before another took over. Of all the names mentioned so far he's not the worst I've heard... 1 Quote

As for Forest, believe he was appointed by one owner before another took over. Of all the names mentioned so far he's not the worst I've heard... At Brentford he blocked 5 transfers in the January 2015 window that Benham personally wanted to bring in. Warburton then went public saying it was a manager's job to pick the team, not the chairman. In February Benham leaked a story to the Times saying Warburton would be replaced at the end of the season. Brentford's form nosedived after that as Warburton basically downed tools. Warburton was threatened with breach of contract and pulled it round to finish in the playoffs but lost in the semis. He left at the end of the season and Moneyball came in the season after. At Forest he was constantly at war with Marianakis over having to play Bouchalakis who he brought in from Olympiakos. Forest lost 14 games before Warburton was sacked on New Year's Eve. Funnily enough one of the first things Karanka did was drop Bouchalakis. He took Rangers on legally for the 'resigned' statement and won a sizeable settlement. TheExile Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 (edited) I’d take pretty much anyone with a good amount of experience of the EFL over xisco at present. Never been convinced by warburton and he was what put me off 532 but typically that’s the system we need to play to stay up Edited September 25, 2023 by TheExile Quote

Tank_Owl2,0 Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 I’ll be honest I’m struggling to think of anyone that would come to work with the current owner, is available and would be able to turn it around. Somehow can’t see DC paying to bring a manager/ head coach from somewhere else, like he did with DM. So, maybe Warburton is the best we can expect. Quote
Ozzie Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Might be able to make us a big breadcake seeing as we've lost the cakeball record Quote
