That is sad to hear, that goal was pivotal in our history but he was more than that to that team.

Everton…. Financial woes to continue..?

it would get expensive on the needing 4 new wheels after every home game -
Do we have any for Nigel though 🤔

That's cheered me up 😱 I think it's that in my 50 year journey to date, the pinnacle was 33 years ago, okay it plateaued for a few more after but its a ruddy long time really being a bit shit since

It's just a very peculiar form of narcissism really The irony I find being that for all the hatred of Chansiri, said person reported live from the High Court steps where the type of owner this group seems to want had erm led us there. Even when you tell them that Lee Strafford brought in early season ticket renewals in the first place. That said money 100% went on repaying a loan - I saw the fucking paperwork. That the much vaunted Milan secured charges against the stadium, borrowed money from some interesting people, had not invested a penny in the infrastructure and the ownership structure was opaque with an offshore entity owning us. Just about every criticism levelled at Chansiri is conveniently ignored in others. And yes I have criticisms of Chansiri's actions, that despite the funds we haven't really advanced as a Club. But I don't have to list every single line of it like some offence sheet. I saw the pics of him the other day and genuinely he looked to have aged, a fatigue.

The latest posts @bazapeps related to a former incumbent of your organisation calling the owner various things, which I don't intend to repeat. I am fair enough to accept he no longer speaks in any official capacity, but do you endorse that type of language ? Because that is one of my issues, it's not just the lack of debate but the insulting nature of the language being used by many of fans. Why make it personal, I simply do not get it and worse it actually turns the likes of me that are accepting of some of your criticisms of Chansiri, totally in support of him.

I mean you really wouldn't want 777 partners to be the new owners after all this nonsense Didn't realise they were behind this Bonza airline in Australia either I mean a long standing Premier League Club is going to go properly pop at some point and Everton must be in the very likely candidate running -
Schalke - Oust your leader with no back up plan, ouch!

It is an interesting article that's for sure The 50+1 model would never work in the UK, we are too far beyond that to ever be retro worked in. Seems to be do you want success or your soul -
Harsh I Keep out the season ticket renewal threads these days if I can

We had a lad in our 6th form with that hair style. Sadly for him it was the era of the Young Ones so he was called Neil (made a change from Jesus). Can't say much my attempts to grow a mullet made me a mash up between Blackadder and Anna Ford. So I was called Blackanna. It was still better than "fat ****"

From memory we sat in that sort of area but were 2/3rds of the way up. I never really grasped the significance of this match until many years later. I was more in awe of the whole experience

Crikey I think it was a Nissan - did they do something called the Bluebird. Anyway it was an upgrade - said mate had previously worked at Fletchers, he had one of the bread vans that used to deliver around the estates. So we used to get lifts in that, free left over buns and a cracking free parking space. He had gotten a new job - which may have been related to the fact he was delivering slightly more than buns to a bored housewife on some rough estate in Dingle land, which was fine until the aggressive husband found out. A Fletchers van was not a quick getaway choice
-
I did go to that game, but don't recall the daffodils for Watson. I do recall my mate had a new company car which he drove like an idiot. We got back to High Green not much later than we would have done from Hillsborough

And yes I probably give Reesh a bit of leverage, do you want to know why ? When I was going thru a shit time, up in Sheffield watching my Mum have multiple seizures, lay unconscious for 10 days withering in front of us, caused by said aggressive tumour, he was messaging me, asking how I was, did I need to escape. Actions speak louder than words, but perhaps understand that your choice of words should not be used glibbly
-
Yes it rattled my cage, because you used the words charlatan, stain and tumour to describe our owner. Chansiri has made mistakes, I have been critical of some of them, but I have never felt the need to make it personal like that. What can I ask does it add, why the insult, why the lack of any respect or understanding to the person funding the club to the tune of 10m per year. And yes I disliked the word tumour. I just hope you never have to witness a loved one suffer from an aggressive form thereof. And you defend yourself by shouting "Sir sir look at him sir". Take responsibility for what you say and how you say it is perhaps the moral here.
-
Tee, I will always respect your opinion and a good chunk of the last page or so was probably instigated by me commenting on something I saw on X. But it rattled my cage because that is not debate by some Wednesday fans, it is sheer hatred displayed against the owner using terminology that is a little bit close to home for me and many others. I am more annoyed with myself getting wound up by it, but the solution is easy I just blocked him on there.

I still prefer the idea of a loss cap, so you can make losses of say 20% of turnover So if revenue is 200m, your spend cap is 240m. Your loss limit is 40m. If you only lose 20m one season, you can roll that forward to the next plus the 40m But any shareholder loans to fund losses have to be converted to equity.

Because Hargreaves was shown up to be a total wanker I readily expect a few to be banned as a result
-
and Geoff if you think people are uptight can I suggest you read the Bricat tribute thread and the posts from Bellsview in the last couple of days
-
It takes a lot to rattle my cage, but I will 100% call out odious shits like Geoff
-
I should copy the tweet from Geoff - calling Chansiri "a tumour" Fuck off Geoff you **** - most of us know people who have died of cancer, we have had a respected poster on here talking about the stress of the last few weeks in his life. That language is disgusting and I will call you out on it
-
The only half decent thing is that Hargreaves on Stalk got made to look an even bigger fool (I appreciate that was a very high bar anyway). It's daft when people try and drive a them and us agenda, us fence sitters have tended to move more towards supporting Chansiri, not there way. I still stand by the one point, if you were trying to force him out what was YOUR plan to replace the funding. The shrug of shoulders and believing AN Other would step up had zero credibility
