  1. No pressure on next week then, the pineapples do get larger and spikes the size of javelins
  2. Strong stuff from Forest about the decisions going against them. Said pre game that the VAR was a Luton fan ! Not seen the incidents aside from the 3rd and that was 50 50 for me. But they may get the EPL points back and then get re-sanctioned
  3. Ron Atkinson was the manager that season, so quality really does not matter. So 50 points is not safe. Hence why QPR and Stoke fans can have a nervous week at least
  4. I seriously request anyone who has watched Sheffield Wednesday over the last few decades to think getting to 50 points will be job over, just watch the video of the 1989/90 season. Maybe that scarred my memory for ever. Hence until the final whistle blows in every game in 2 weeks time and we are outside the bottom 3, then that fat lass is still warming up on the sidelines.
  5. I disagree, and yes you would rather have points on the board, but having watched Wednesday fall thru the trapdoor at the last minute. QPR have Leeds next up Friday night
  6. Gritty realism, exactly what Bannan said. I trust him more than your good self to know
  7. The point being if QPR and Stoke thought they were safe, maybe not. Next Saturday is a fucking tough game, West Brom looked good v Leicester and we have to play to the absolute top of our game.
  8. The fundamental issue is what I said in an earlier post, can Rohl get the sweet spot between defending and attacking. I am sure he can, but frankly there is an error waiting at the back, simply not enough quality consistently in the final 3rd, the midfield of only 2 players is not enough to get possession or then be the first line of defence But no magic wand in the squad to change it
  9. I mean after 43.5 games I have finally concluded we are a bit shit innit
  10. Agreed that his recent performances have not warranted a start. Maybe as its on TV he will set out to impress his suitors
  11. Looks like a 3 5 2 with Palmer in the back line, maybe dropping into midfield at times
  12. I was in the dog house the other day by telling Mrs MK to shut the fuck up whilst trying to watch the Norwich game. The sofa bed is surprisingly comfy saying that
  13. I hope Szmodics has woken up with the shits ! Him up against our defence does concern me. Perhaps as much as the weight of expectation that this group of players have not been great at carrying. Can Rohl find that sweet spot between defensive solidity and attacking threat. My only request is that no attempt is made to play a short pass by Beadle until at least 1pm
  14. Preston not scored in 4 away games, so no surprise with that result. If we can win tomorrow it does drag Stoke, QPR and Plymouth back into the mix, plus Blackburn. The fact Udders v Brim next week means our survival can only be on the final day even if we won both games.
  15. West Brom defeat means they won't be guaranteed in the play offs before the game next week
  16. Already hearing the background noise that it's the impact of the financial fair play rules impacting the progress of the EPL clubs. It will never be about the 4 pre season friendlies they go around the globe playing. More relevant is the EPL is a week in week out league. All removing the financial rules will do is extend the dominance of the big 6, weaken their opponents domestically. The impact is that the cost inflation filters down the pyramid, at our level that means higher season ticket prices etc. There was an uprising against the European Super League but whilst this is exactly what the big 6 clubs want, I am becoming more minded to let them fuck off. No halfway house, out of the pyramid for good. It would be a messy few years financially, but in the end football in this country would be reclaimed from the control of the few. And I would predict within 5 years the big 6 would scuttle back bored of the US conference style leagues that would arise
  17. Joey Barton wasn't happy I recall. Be less happy if Rebecca Welch was reffing though
  18. Devil's advocate part 2, its the Championship clubs that make the most player changes in Round 3 these days, many on here advocate it to focus on the league etc. The attendances are pretty poor comparatively. Chicken n egg maybe
  19. Playing devil's advocate, the issue you have is that the monetary value of the FA Cup comes from the TV deal, and that is driven by the big Premier League clubs. So in many ways the FA in going for that lucre have to sell the soul of the competition. My one hope is that a football regulator does come in, that the EPL clubs play hard ball still and get a deal forced upon them that is way worse than could have been negotiated. How about a 95% levy on the TV deal monies
  20. Great work on the page title change. I an just worried that in 50 years time it will be called Last Person Standing turn out the lights
  21. Bishop of Liverpool now demanding the retro closure of C4 Phil Redmond was the producer IIRC
