  1. Thanks for doing it and bringing back memories from that time. As mentioned over this thread, it was in hindsight peak Wednesday. Perhaps we were seeing how the bigger clubs were starting to pull away, the influence of more foreign players and without deep pockets it was hard to sustain the competitive edge. That is with a lot of hindsight because the mood would have been slight disappointment at only finishing 7th ! But with good expectations for the following season. (I was probably moaning tbh)
  2. His wife is South African, off to get some tyres
  3. The moral of that is treat people how you would like to be treated. If you moan about getting online abuse, then don't use abusive terms online about others. It's not a one way option. The solution I have found is manage your social media input. I am little more than a reader on X, I haven't joined SWFC groups on Facebook. Being banned from Stalk was actually a blessing - don't spend 2 hours arguing with idiots.
  4. Fair to say when you play from the back and it works its a joy. In a parallel universe the right to left switch goes straight to their player who unopposed scores, we spend many hours cursing Pep We started getting the balance right. In the end yesterday was solely about the result, the performance was adequate, but the flaws were there in some of our passing, defending from set plays. Their offside goal may have been tight with VAR. But it was a cracking goal, the 2nd wasn't bad either.
  5. I don't think many of us have unrealistic expectations in that regard. But equally don't think we should be languishing where we are, relieved at avoiding tier 3 again. I would hope our natural position for now is more nudging around top mid half, having a shout at the play offs. This division is tough as hell, next year possibly stronger still. And you can't achieve that aim on a wing and a prayer. Having taken a sabbatical from going to home games, it was great to see v WBA a full stadium, some good football and a connection between fans, the players and the coach. There was a buzz, let that be built on is all most of us ask
  6. I didn't say that though, I said a valid criticism was a lack of planning (in the past). There are signs that Chansiri is understanding there is a better way to run a football club. I think all I want is continuing evidence this summer of that happening, no dramas, we simply talk about how shit / great the signings are based on no evidence
  7. I don't disagree, I would actually suggest the Club would be even better served by investing 500k in decent non football side personnel as much as anything. Because these are the building blocks needed to stop the club lurching around like a trawler in a storm. 24 years and counting with barely a sniff of the Premier League. Not on Chansiri by a long way but something has to change
  8. Because its erm true. Or would you rather have the nonsense of last summer and coming in under prepared. The criticisms of Chansiri by the 1867 Group are largely unfair, deluded. But suggesting Chansiri can't learn from his past mistakes is just as deluded What this Club needs to progress is a summer where the owner backs and supports the incumbent head coach, not much to ask is it
  9. Thing is most of us grasp how football works and that the transfer window closing presumably at the end of August is the only time you can assess. I mean the January window was pivotal in our survival even if it was dismissed by many.
  10. The one valid criticism of Chansiri is the lack of planning. I mean he has a point in that football has far too many variables to plan with any guarantees, but if you have the solid base then you are better placed to absorb the shocks. He really must look around the football league and see relative success at Clubs that have the organisation in place. Perhaps also witness that the Clubs that are basket cases ie Huddersfield and Brum went down. Chansiri used a get out of jail card. The question of how we proceed is now firmly in his court. He may not be able to promise ยฃMs for transfers, but what he can do is appreciate Rohl is a rising star, he knows what is needed behind the scenes and the one request is he listens and supports this guy. Fail to plan, plan to fail. It's in his court to ensure we have a solid close season, no melodramas.
  11. I don't think the team will be built around him, even Bannan would accept that can't arise as he gets older. But as an option and a player that can unlock defences he could be utilised well We certainly need more strength in that area of the pitch.
  12. Tbf you have done a JJ and come strong at the end of the season to earn a contract for next.
  13. I suspect Rohl wants him to stay though. How we fit him in will be interesting, will we change system moving forward, if Rohl gets the players in he would like.
  14. Be interesting what odds you would have had on the results this afternoon. It was absolutely essential we did the business ourselves and not rely on others.
  15. I mean I am not going to comment on next season until at least tomorrow๐Ÿ˜ƒ but a certain team based in Suffolk have shown its feasible I think all I ask for is no major melodrama for the next 3 months and we properly plan for the 2024/25 season.
  16. I mean it's a fantastic job that Rohl and the supporting back room staff have done, to galvanise this squad not just for an initial period but 7 months. I really questioned that it could be done given the position he inherited, but fully deserved. Let's hope the forthcoming pre season now builds on this. Thank fuck its in the Championship that is the most important outcome
  17. It's like Boxing Day in reverse memories of that day. I genuinely think that and the FA Cup Final replay have indelibly scarred me
  18. The rain hopefully ....๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ
