  1. Agreed and your last line is manifestly true though I think a little nervousness is not unreasonable. I'm hoping for positive clarification expediently.
  2. Agreed and DR is dropping clear hints at a need for improved infrastructure. Balancing the finances is tricky - fans crave sexy player signings - but improvements 'behind the scenes' are clearly required. My guess is that there will be investment but whether that extends to appointing a skilled person to implement a new vision; I doubt. DC does seem to prefer his 'advisers'.
  3. The fans need to be realistic too. His ability to fund is finite though the extra TV money will help. Hopefully there will be a surge in ST sales with the new wave of optimism too. Ideally in the coming days, rather than weeks, we'll be hearing positive soundbites from DR about his future and confirmation that a deliverable plan going forward has been broadly agreed.
  4. Doubt Dawson personally but agree about everything else. Could argue a case for Johnson but I suspect he'll not be offered a new deal.
  5. Spot on. Additionally there has been a change since last summer - the appointment of Danny, backing him with his support team, younger exciting players with big profit potential. If; big big IF he did leave we'd likely be handsomely compensated à la Bruce. What we do need now though is certainty- one way or the other- expediently. Anyway, I expect Danny to be here in August and today is a good day. Not one for sniping to reinforce deep rooted prejudices.
  6. I voted Bannan. I only go to home games though.
  7. Good post Baza. Having said that I am absolutely convinced though that there is indeed a raft of hard core anti DC posters that do display symptoms of being really conflicted by our currently more positive situation. I do agree with you that becoming a reverse image of that site is not especially attractive either. Alternative opinion is healthy. I didn't mind Nev, whilst disagreeing with him on many occasions. The short term defectors that occasionally infect here with their deliberately provocative smart arse snipings are a different proposition altogether though
  8. This precisely. It's just the exact same people repetitively pinging the exact same opinion (singular) to the exact same people day after day after day. Shutting out alternative views creating an echo chamber that renders their agenda impotent.
  9. I refuse to provoke the mischievous, and often spiteful, football gods by making a prediction. Sorry olblueties.
  10. Wouldn't surprise me. I saw a Manchester United youngster mentioned. I could well see Beadle returning but we'll see. We'll need two new keepers as Dawson likely to move on.
  11. Yes and he's improving - a real talent. If we finish the job on Saturday, and given a positive summer, I expect to see him back on a full season's loan in August. A big star in the making.
  12. The usual stuff then. It's manifest though that this Dad and Lad debacle has been extremely adverse propaganda for the anti DC factions as a whole.
  13. Yes when all is said and done Danny is the main man.
  14. Absolutely; its pretty subjective. I voted Bannan.
  15. There is some (IMO entirely justified) animosity aimed in a particular direction because of personal experiences of abuse/bullying/trolling. Credit to you though for stance and post. Time to spit the sour taste out and look forward not back (for me at least).
  16. Not just some posters - the vast majority were supporting DC. Despite his usual haranguing the site Führer had to finally give up and pull the thread. Groundswell of opinion just didn't match up with his agenda. What a ****. The irony of this incident is that it has had the polar opposite effect to that which the anti DC bigots crave.
  17. Yes; his/their bigotry only exceeded by his/their hypocrisy.
  18. Soft push at that. On a positive note the father got pilloried on X before deactivating his account. Other anti-Chansiri forums, bar a handful of rabid haters, overwhelmingly defending DC - panning the Dad and Lad. Hargreaves first trying to play it all down as trivial; then resorting to his usual anti DC trolling before giving up and pulling the thread. I've also seen/heard quite a few saying they are renewing ST's after previously stating they wouldn't 'til DC left. Finish the job on Saturday and fingers crossed for a positive summer and we could be at the start of something good.... as I say; fingers crossed. Apologies for going off topic a bit. Feeling good.
  19. 🤣 On a similar note. One Derby day in the 60's when I was too young to go alone, the 16/17 year old Unitedite John next door offered to take me with his mates (all of similar affiliation). Crowds weren't segregated so he plonked me by the wall at the front of the kop while they went further back. Lost 2-0 to 2 Alan Birchenall goals. John collected me later and escorted me home - piggy backing me quite a bit as I tired. Top lad John Tingle
  20. Wonderful news. You've both had to reside in a really dark place of late. Happily now you're both back in the sunlight.
  21. Yes we were bottoming out under Len Ashurst. I liked Neil O'Donnell out of that team. Len brought him with him from Gillingham for about £4k IIRC. Not released but injury forced retirement prematurely a year or so later. A couple of others of note - Eric ' Billy Whizz' Potts and the quality but injury prone Mick Prendergast - sadly died too young. Some little gems that linger in the memory from what were pretty bleak times.
  22. Happy Golden Jubilee! You'll likely have been there just two years later then when winning a night match against Southend ensured we didn't fall through the trapdoor to the 4th division. We celebrated it like we were champions.
