  1. I lean towards being slightly superstitious regarding such things too. Of course its total bollocks but still can't rid the thought lurking at the back of my mind; why tempt the evil football gods?
  2. TBF I was being a tad self indulgent. Been better saying you have to laugh at all of the 'never going again while DC remains' merchants and their angst at the masses of fans that continue to buy home tickets in increasing numbers. Part of the problem 🤣
  3. You have to laugh at how the more the yellow paper wavers bluster; the more our attendances increase.
  4. 😃 Valid point but games like Swansea and Stoke (and others) would likely have been put to bed after 30 minutes had we such a player given the opportunities we had.
  5. Same as against Stoke. Mind you if we had a finisher like Szmodics we'd not be fretting over relegation.
  6. Currently winning 3-0 away at Colchester. Fernandes with 2 and Seiqueira the scorers. Good to see long term injury absentees Devlan Moses and Sean Fusire making returns on the bench.
  7. So the PL with its multi billions per season in their largesse slip a £33m per season gratuity to force the changes through. It really is wank isn't it?
  8. Some look to bash DC at every turn. Draw/defeat, missed chances, keeper error, racist fans (irony), piss on toilet seat.......... Wins are in spite of him, recruiting Xisco was inept, recruiting DR was luck, recruiting DR's support team is not to be acknowledged. Your experience on the other forum confirms all this.
  9. Yes with this season's experience behind him and with progression over the summer Cadamarteri especially could be a real handful for League 1 defenders.
  10. Yes to all intents and purposes it's been equivalent to a one year loan in the last year of his contract. This summer we need DR to commence the rebuild expediently after season's end. I expect him to stay BTW but it's imperative that DC nails this down or acts quickly if he did leave.
  11. I think somewhere in between those two extremes would be in order!! We were in crisis mode last summer with the prolonged season and with Mooregate. Personally I think we may well have moved on from Bernard but for those factors. I would expect - certainly hope - that it's sorted one way or the other very early in the summer. Either commit for 2/3 years or we move on quickly to other targets.
  12. I'd be happy enough if we offered terms to: Bannan - one year reduced wages. Palmer - one year. Not a world beater but very useful utility player Vaulks - one/two years. Tidy squad player. Bernard - two years but wouldn't break the bank to keep him. You could make a case for Iorfa but injury record is a concern. IMO we need to continue with the policy of last summer - recruiting players that have potential to improve and become assets of value. That said it's a process that isn't realistic to expect to be totally completed in the summer window so some players will need to be retained for a bit longer than some fans would like.
  13. Agreed. Decent but IMO a little overrated by many.
  14. Said it before. Bottom 3 every week of the season until final whistle(s) of final game(s). Always a bizarre quirk happens on the final day.
  15. Yep and most 'haven't attended in years' hypocrites. As you say not for us as things stand.
  16. It's all hands to the pump now including the fans. We lifted the team v Peterbrough and can/should/must do it again tomorrow. Was like a library from the off the other night first half apart from,as you say, daft reactions from some. We need to make it intimidating from the start for Stoke.
  17. Per Staton on X:- Key message from Danny Röhl today, following the Norwich game & ahead of Stoke: "It's better that we stay together, instead of booing or not really being behind the goalkeeper, this is not helpful. It's better we stay together and we help each other on and off the pitch" “We should be honest, my style of football is the reason why we have this big opportunity to stay in the league” Danny Röhl on his principles, which he also admits are very adaptable. I know we were dire first half the other night but booing the players off at HT (albeit briefly) - barmy. DR bang on with his second point. Nob 3 rows in front of me was screaming apoplecticly at Danny after the Beadle gaffe and there are/were a fair few sages advising him to cut out the playing out from the back. It will backfire on occasions and look bad but on balance his philosophy is serving us very well. Let's have a miracle if Hillsborough atmosphere from the off on Saturday.
  18. Well this is encouraging regarding Bernard, Johnson, Ugbo and especially Poveda: https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/sheffield-wednesday-quartet-not-ruled-out-v-stoke-city-after-duo-missed-norwich-city-clash-4585469
  19. Just watched the highlights. That ball from Gassama for the second goal was a delight. The lad is learning.
