  1. Let's look at this from a grown up perspective, which is what very largely goes on here. The bag a seat thing is, quite frankly nonsense and completely unthought out if you want to stage a 'peaceful' protest. Logistically impossible and as was said on stalk would probably lead to some unrest between Wednesday fans. Some numpty suggested everyone takes a tennis ball and throws it on the pitch just before kick off. There would be a couple of dozen thrown, wouldn't affect kick off but again might cause some unrest between fans. In summary it's amateur hour with all their bravado, it's not thought through and is scattergun at best. It seems to me, and don't get me wrong there is a right to protest, but do it 'right' since you all all fans of the club, that this movement appears spawned over too many pints and the few that are fueling them has got them a bit out of their depth. As ever, UTO
  2. Plus Delgado, Vasquez ana Bernard are getting some significant air miles and time zone changes in. Probs XM likely factored that into the fortnight of training ground prep and all 3 may not be involved against Ipswich, which would make perfect sense.
  3. Fucking chancers, (correctly placed comma) potentially encouraging chancers and we've had enough of them! This really doesn't want to grow legs, last thing we need currently IMO. I know that Bells and MK have thrown their hand up to getting 'involved' (potentially against the club), I'm happy with the () TBF! But fair play they have both said that maybe it wasn't right after all and fair play to them both for that. I bet the average age of this 1867 crowd is no more than 37 years, 3 months and 4 days.
  4. Like your style Ebra. I looked at September fixtures and thought a return of 7 or above would constitute real progress.
  5. We actually have front men who can find the back of the net, we just need the style of play/build up to play to their strengths. I hope these additions make that work. A load of work required during the international break and hopefully we get something tomorrow, as unlikely as that may look you never know. UTO
  6. I've not seen tonight but followed second half on skybet match graffics. What seemed to be the case early second half was that Mansfield came out with an aim to get at us, I may be wrong though. I am firmly in give XM time but there is always a limit. Where I feel he falls down a little is his cheeky chappy smile with potentially little substance. The narrative above on this thread of his post match comments whilst fairly his..he's calling the players out a bit, did he not prepare them properly. Saturday is massive. Ok lose and we'd still be only 3 pts probs from safety and it's early September. Can he turn it around in fortnight during the break. It all could ofcourse be fine with this talk of prem/champ loans. I'm with KM. Some coin needs throwing at this. UTO
  7. Well Xisco has a right few days ahead of him before the weekend as the players could seriously shrink in the Leeds game
  8. TBF most businesses are always for sale if the right level of coin is put on the table. This is football though. Rule book of business purchase is right out of the window. I'm still in the give it a few games crowd ATM. Be interesting to see what happens as the window closes. We WILL stay up though.
  9. IF, and it is a big IF that the new players that have been brought in have some sort of sense/plan around it all, that aligns with the managers ideals and way of playing and it's round pegs in round holes then we should be comfortably mid table. 3 games in with nowt might be a slight worry but it's early doors. Cardiff and Leeds away next up works for me as both haven't started great and we can get something from those games although we may not. Marathon not a sprint and IMO this season is all about retaining championship status which I believe we will. UTO
  10. Agreed. They bring more value than their transfer fee. Basically what KM said. 2 assists from WP today. Goals scorers matter ofcourse but so do the assists and if the stats rock up then value is added.
  11. Agree with comments made. It's simple, just be decent, nice, honourable, in the goldfish bowl of football it actually makes you stand out, which in some respects is disappointing.
  12. It is. I've always thought CD has a bit of joe Hart and Jordan Pickford about him. Far too intense rather than just going about your business as a GK
  13. A good week on the training ground should enhance the team side of things and I hope that transfers to a better collective performance on Saturday. Integration of new players is always tricky when there are so many, but progress, even by the inch is still progress. UTO
  14. In slightly somber reflection. The signing made when I had just left school at 16 and now reflect that fuck me that was 37 years ago and I'm now 53. Madness. Plus this year has gone quicker than anyone before it. Soon be Xmas folks!!!
  15. Well. New players have now had a run. Existing players potentially learning a new system and what the new guys are all about. It's now a training ground thing. Work on the system and player integration. Still early doors but a lot of work to be done. Hull away will give us a fairer insight into where we are I suppose, although there may of course be more ins/outs player wise. Smith not included could mean that's one transfer on the horizon
  16. That's a minimum of 2 consecutive wins on pens. I just have it that we haven't done that well in shootouts in the 40 odd years I've followed the owls. I did chuckle on Friday how a spot kick may have been reported if scored by a certain saints player.... Pen. N Teller
  17. I'm going 15th at xmas and will take that. A play off push can happen fairly easily in the championship from there. BUT our aim IMO should be solid in this league and go from there. We ain't anyway near ready to creep up via the playoffs, just unrealistic.
  18. I agree with a lot of the above. I dipped into the game second half on you tube between doing other stuff. It stunk of a run out for us, different by them, home game etc. But as has been said some of our football was shocking. But I'm with Kev on this, means nowt, let's see what we do a week on Friday. UTO
  19. I would adopt the performance related reward model. It's not like Liam Palmer is now a supervisor. They've achieved promotion and fair play some coin should come their way. DC then rolls the dice again in championship if he likes, stay up and get whatever bonus, go up way more. But a big eye on financial sustainability.
  20. A question to season ticket holders out there... How would you feel if the club adopted a philosophy that in the week run up to any game sold tickets for whatever got people in? Fill the ground, hopefully more atmosphere which should impact the players. Whats the point in having empty seats, lost revenue right there. I completely respect ST holders commiting their hard earned but looking at it from a basics perspective fill the ground, kids offers, the future fans, concourse spends, would you agree that yes maybe some random people have got in for that match for less than your average per match cost, could you live with it as part of the long term vision of maxing revenue. UTO
