  1. I would've done the same. The ball boy knew what he was doing. "Respect your elders", I was always taught. That doesn't include being a deliberately cheeky little fuck because it suits. "The boy's upset", said Gary O'Neil. Well, tough shit, actions have consequences. Suck it up and sort your behaviour in future. I blame the parents.
  2. Perhaps the 1867 group should become Tottenham fans...
  3. Nothing Beadle wasn't guilty of, especially at 1-0. I remember a goal kick which took at least 30 seconds. How the fuck he got away without a yellow, I'll never know. Not to mention his strategic injury immediately after the subs. Second home game in a row for that one. No point in moaning about other goalkeepers when ours is just as bad. All hail game management... Keep the game flowing. Up to us to be alive to it
  4. Has anyone seen Brian McClair recently? What a fucking ticket. I don't know how to upload pics on here but if you Google him, you'll see what I mean!
  5. Back to back away wins with clean sheets thrown in for good measure. Well done Wednesday 🙂
  6. I remember that now you mention it. He's been giving off some very strange behaviour recently. Pressure of a title race must be getting to him!
  7. Hearts thoroughly deserved the win today. And as for the spiteful Brendan Rogers - just go and fuck yourself and have some humility in defeat. Weird ****.
  8. Yes, pretty certain he was. You could pretty much guarantee that in every issue of the fanzine his post would be Victor Meldrewesque! There was another contributor - 'Mark Aardvark' - his stuff was pretty good. Think he may have been the editor at one point.
  9. Spitting Feathers and OoTB - W Martin Lee = Legend! (Can't remember whether he contributed to AVFTEB or not)
  10. Interesting day yesterday. Early start, heading for the 0830 train. Apart from the bus into town deciding it needed a reboot, causing a 10 minute delay, a decent first stage of events. The match itself seemed somewhat unChampionship-like. Quite slow throughout (both sides) and only little bursts of pace here and there. Thankfully our Chess pieces outmanoeuvred theirs, leading to minimal threat across the nervy 90+ minutes. I haven't watched it back, but I did think Bernard's first yellow was a straight red. That said, I was a bit away (Kop) so could be wrong. Will chuck the highlights on later. As far as the second yellow is concerned, as soon as it happened, I said to my mate, "that's him off then" but the game continued for what seemed like two minutes (I'm pretty sure Bernard blocked a shot on goal during that time, which could've had an impact on the game but not to worry). I was then just about to say, "this ref's either got the best memory in the league or he's letting him off with it" when play stopped and the red was flashed. Correct decision. Full time meant it was a case of 'so far so good'. However, that changed when I entered the train station to find the 1821 cancelled. Having spoken to the lassie on the Information Desk, the updated plan was to head to dirty Leeds and jump on the 2008. All fine and dandy until I arrived in dirtyville to find the 2008 was to be abandoned at Newcastle, with a replacement bus service heading North from there. So, as it turned out, instead of getting back to Edinburgh just after 10pm, I didn't actually arrive 'til 1am! Still, 3 points - can't complain. Well done Wednesday 🙂
  11. Any idea what object struck Vaulks while he was in the (very slow) process of taking a throw? It's around the 2-minute mark of the highlights. At 2:20-ish, something white hits him around the elbow.
  12. Echo all of the above comments. Speedy recovery Mr Mowbray.
  13. Biggest away win of the season. Well done Wednesday 🙂
  14. 😀 Rab C? Fucking hell. Must say I preferred City Lights 👍
  15. She's the one who got all uppity when Andrew Neil told the truth on Question Time?
  16. Dry, hard pitches you say? He'll be injured by then. Beadle looks like a clone of the young chap Trafford at Burnley. Half decent shot stopper, weak as piss in the air and thinks he can play football. The first half of the match wasn't Foxes vs Owls. It was men against boys. It was so bad, I took to playing 'bit harsh Bingo' with the commentary. Example: "Vardy... Praet" "bit harsh." Second half was much better, although Leicester had at least one more goal in the tank. Onwards to Saturday. 3 points please Wednesday 🙂
  17. Shrewsbury away? Possibly the third in a 3-0 win, so not 'important' either?!
  18. No excuse. Get it right first time man!
  19. I just don't see a problem referring to somebody by their nationality. He's a 'foreigner' on these shores, so his nationality makes him more easily identifiable. It's also a right pain writing numerous articles about the club and constantly calling him "the boss", "the head coach" or simply by his surname. Mixes things up a bit. Think about the Barry Bannan song: "a wee Scotsman** he's better than Zidane" ** I think a lot of people sing "a wee Scottish man" Should we change the words? (I suspect a number of folk would rather bin the song completely, given some of the comments about him on here!) Absolutely no problem with the differing views btw. As you say, "hey ho" 🙂 Given that the Star is England-based, identifying 'your own' in such a way doesn't usually happen in reality. See also the first two bits of my reply to Mr MAL 🙂
  20. What's wrong with that? He is German.
  21. All this slating of Wilks is a tad harsh. He'd scored in every round of the FA Cup until last night 😉
