  1. That was certainly the case a few years ago Mr Skamp. I think it was something like one non-televised match in 10 seasons. However their appearances have been (slightly) less frequent recently, from memory. I still maintain my boycott of those ties which hold 'league match in drag' status. Therefore, I most certainly will not be watching Tottenham vs Man City or Fulham vs Newcastle. Just surprised they didn't pick Chelsea vs Villa! Last round I boycotted Palace vs Everton, Tottenham vs Burnley and Arsenal vs Liverpool. Possibly one other? Certainly frees up more time across the weekend 🙂
  2. What happened to the compensation payment of around £500K?
  3. McCoist is the best co-commentator around. He always bounces off the main commentator and keeps things jovial. That said, if he was sitting next to the annoying gravel-voiced enthusiasm that is Jonathan Pearce, I would still turn the sound off.
  4. He was told he had to get his birthmark removed to reduce the risk of skin cancer. Ended last season early in order to go under the knife. The reason he left Hillsborough was purely for game time. He signed for Hearts, where he was a first team regular and also switched from midfield to right back. They're not big payers. There was no greed involved.
  5. I watched MotD yesterday morning. Once it finished, I flicked over to the red button channel which was showing MotD over a much longer time period. Naïve me thought it may be some extended offering with more highlights, so I tuned in. First match was Mike Ingham's wife vs Pigs. Not sure if that's an omen for tonight's draw but it was promptly switched off again.
  6. Well done on your hat trick Mr Holmesfield. Where are you putting the match ball? 🙂
  7. I find it amazing how much his all-round game has improved since his Dundee Utd days. That spell in Belgium appears to have worked wonders for him. As it stands, he has 18 months left on his contract at Hearts. I don't think Wednesday are in the 'financial races' as far as signing him in January is concerned. By that I mean, If he's not going to get punted for in excess of £3-5m, it would be much more beneficial for Hearts to keep him until the summer, hopefully finish 3rd (thanks to his goals), take the money from the European qualification and cash in for around £2m max (if he wishes to leave). The above also depends on finishing 3rd being enough to automatically qualify for group stage European football next season, as has been the case in the previous two campaigns (providing one of the Old Firm wins the Scottish Cup!). I think this is the last time that will be the case, due to an upcoming drop in Scotland's co-efficient points / rankings. To highlight Shankland's importance to Hearts, there is an incredible stat from this season to date. He's top scorer with 16 goals in all competitions. Second top is 'own goals' with 3 😮
  8. There is one great need for him to go down though, and that is because he's shite and has absolutely no confidence in himself to score, free shot or otherwise. Therefore, in true modern day footballer fashion, he'd much rather go down in a heap and attempt to win a penalty than face the wrath of the paying punters for the inevitable miss. It's also win-win for him as he can pass on the responsibility for the penalty to a teammate and let them deal with the booing if the goalkeeper guesses right. Spineless ***** like Fletcher shouldn't be on a football pitch, unless they're taking part in the HT fun and games, or sweeping the rain off with a mop.
  9. Albeit another non-victory for Britain, but a notable mention to Team GB who picked up the silver medal in the Speedway World Cup in Wroclaw in July, only missing out by one point thanks to a last lap pass from one of the home men. The final was a tremendous experience and a fitting end to an enjoyable week. One of the best stadium atmospheres I've witnessed. The Poles certainly know how to host an event. Being surrounded by them while they all sang their hearts out during the National Anthem made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!
  10. I would imagine Derek Adams' latest stint in the Ross County hot seat will be coming to an abrupt end soon, following his post match rant on Saturday!
  11. Justin Edinburgh did him on the touchline. Could be wrong, but I think we won 1-0?
  12. That was my first Wednesday kit. Christmas present from the olds. No Big Birds in Edinburgh though.
  13. Last day of work on 15th December? No wonder the country's fucked. Well done Wednesday 🦉
  14. Away ya wee stat stealer 😉 I'll just have to settle for... first time we've scored 3 goals in a game this season. Well done Wednesday 🦉
