Coventry looked streets ahead of us in so many ways, I wasn't too disappointed with not getting anything from today as I didn't really expect owt, I am still disappointed with the Cardiff result which would have mitigated this, we need four points at least from the next two.
They had 37 million injection in the summer via transfers and went on to spend 30 million on players - of which most of those players yesterday.

Well yes I appreciate that, I was as usual going off on a tangent. It would be interesting to track the season ticket prices over time. My mulling was that I am sure there was a very large % increase one Premier League season.
And that another time there was quite a large reset downwards following a relegation.
Football inflation seems totally unrelated to BoE inflation saying that. I was driving a lot yesterday and heard some maths bod say there is science behind sneakflation or in terms of pack sizes shrinkflation. So if the variable is below a threshold you just accept it. But 5 years down the line when something is half the size or the price has doubled you take note.
Sky subscriptions are a classic, because it nudges up, then one year its over £100 and you say fuck that.
And that is really what happened with season tickets, certainly when coupled with the TV packages, how much it was all costing and there is kickback. The issue now is that when people's disposable income drops due to household bills, the cost of each item of leisure gets scrutinised and thus challenged about value for money.
That is probably what fuels the current debate plus the ease with which comparisons can be made with other clubs.
I do criticise Chansiri on a few things but the first stage renewal prices is not one of them. The date of the renewal, the narrow time windows, the hikes beyond those stages certainly want questioning.
What that 2005/06 renewal showed us was the logical policy of early renewal by 18th June. If only we could return to that and simple pricing structures. Basically if you have to think about it you are likely to question it
Valid points!
re the June thing - see if the switch to the early bird was a LS decision when let’s face it we were on the brink - what annoys me is people who dislike D.C. have been in such an echo chamber they revised these facts and others and laid them at D.C. door.
Once you’ve shifted cashflow for ST further up the calendar it’s very to break that I guess.
The BoE calculator is probably an unfair comparator for football expenditures fan wise but it drives one point for me - some need to stop painting the owner as the devil incarnate!
Oh a final point - pricing the young generation out of football … our attendance yesterday was really good given all the circumstances -

It is true that time fades the memory about the huge hikes in season ticket prices in the Premier League period. It probably caused less fuss when they went up that is true as well.
Though the TV monies were less and I guess it was a few years ago there was general kickback by fans about stadium prices
In Wednesday's case of course it was more about not being in the Premier League anymore and what the appropriate price for League 1 football was and re-start the clock.
You can use stats anyway you want, the comparable is really how they measure up against prices in your division each season.
Ultimately you are paying your 500 quid per year to partly fund players earning that in about 6 - 12 hours
Just a small point .. we weren’t in the PL in 2005/6

Cracking post on stalk about old season ticket prices -
”
Putting the prices into the BoE inflation calculator makes an interesting comparison.
2005 North Stand is the equivalent of £662 in today's money and 2006 is £713. Equivalent for the kop is £546 and £586. So theoretically our prices are cheaper now than nearly 20 years ago.”

One song is now goes “it’s simple you know just sell up and go”
yes its a song but fuck me it’s anything but simple!
another song “we want our wednesday back” what the fuck does this mean - when did we ever have it!!
-
Price still not released! Not long before they go on sale now!
-
They have just now changed their story!!!
”
We requested the minutes from our own meeting with the club be posted. This was immediately taken off the table by the club.
We had also been told on numerous phone calls with the club that we wouldn’t be banned or face any legal action but they refused to put it in writing.“
Not like this group to get it wrong.. they keep of screwing up their releases and the more they do the more pork I smell!

Protest march, QPR (h) 16th December, 2pm
Further to our request for a meeting with Dejphon Chansiri, we can confirm that the club did indeed offer to enter into dialogue.
We suggested the following;
We would give up anonymity, in exchange for written agreement that members giving up their names, would not face sanctions from the club, in terms of banning orders or any legal action.
We also requested that the minutes from the meeting regarding the potential take-over bid were publicised to the wider fanbase. This would give Wednesdayites the clarity they deserve.
Neither prerequisite could be met by the club and as a result we have no further option, other than to upscale protest movement.
We have listened to the wider fan base, we have no immediate plans for disruptive protest during the games and we are not currently in a position where we feel this is the best course of action. When in the stands, we’re fully behind Danny Röhl and the lads.
We urge you, the fans, to join us in protest of the current ownership of the club at 2pm on 16th December, prior to our home fixture, against QPR.
This protest march will begin at Hawksley avenue, through Hillsborough park and end at the directors entrance under the south stand.
The above is the current intended route but we are in discussions with SAG, the club and SY Police.
We call on all Sheffield Wednesday fans who have had enough of the current regime, to join us in solidarity.
This club was here before and will be here long after the current custodian.
We stand together in saying enough is enough.
The 1867 Group.

Starts off sensible but then…
a) DC flys into country but no intention to sell
b) consortium is perfect and will do exactly what we all want??
c) all about confidnetialtiy though so can’t so too much about them
d) oh by the way - this is Chansiri demands - positioning - indeed really as no intention to sell - wants to be there forever ..
e) New consortium happy to share all this with 3 people who once started a racially motivated campaign and wanted to show D.C. they are honest and genuine by sharing all this with said group to happily post to all fans to turn them against the owner.

One member of the 1867 Group believes while the fans were patient for many years, around 90 per cent no longer support Chansiri and there are genuine worries about the club’s future. “We’re always constantly thinking whether we are going to have a club this time next season,” the campaigner said.

Fact is the timing of his departure was a disaster for us! The managerial options to replace him were poor, the fact DC thought we had the right man this time compounded the impact of his leaving us!
As responsible for our downward spiral as any DC decision outside of the points deduction, refusal to sell at the best price and the Munoz appointment.

The key is willing to work with .. improve .. support the owner in the ultimate aim achieving promotion!
Not form an opposition where both legitimate and illegitimate criticism is fed equally and more division is created.

I have just posted this in a thread that's on going but thought no harm in making a new thread so as many people as possible can see it.
The Trust held a meeting last night with a few other fan groups, Clive Betts MP and Jane Hughes of the Football Supporters Association (FSA). We discussed the idea to organise an umbrella group of fan groups to agree on a consensus response to this on going situation of worrying statements. We have agreed to put a list together of all the fan groups we know of with the intention of inviting all groups, reps, etc to an initial meeting. The trust agreed with the FSA they would provide advice on how to coordinate / go forward with this before we actually meet. Hopefully this will mean the umbrella group will meet requirements of the new football regulator that is in the offing and can act as the fan group that represents the widest possible number of us for the foreseeable future. The idea being the Umbrella group has defined shared purpose that hopefully we can get consensus on but each group will keep their own identity and be able to campaign for their particular focus.
The trust are keen for all group reps and people keen to get involved to get in touch through our enquiries@swfctrust.co.uk email. UTO

It is an abundantly clear that Rohl has been given complete autonomy on his staff, and he’s brought in people he knows with pedigree (very high pedigree). Chris Powell is a very very good appointment, as are all the staff with more to come.
What I’d now like to see is a similar strategy to our transfer policy, and if we do, we have indeed set-up long term.
DC is clearly committed to the cause because none of the recruitment he has done will have come cheap. And what’s key is that the German media are reporting that all Rohls staff have deals until 2025 (so just under a 3 year deal).
Pretty much every manager been given autonomy on staff other than D.C. insistence we keep one of the old guard retained if possible.
And every manger been given the requisite autonomy to bring players in / sign off players before being brought in.

Best we’ve played over 90 minutes since Peterborough.
I’m not sure whether they were bad or we were good. Probably a bit of both, but they seemed like our ideal opponents. By that I mean that their forwards got nothing from Bambo, Bernard and Iorfa, and their defence couldn’t handle the pace of Musaba. Bannan and Byers ran the midfield. Everyone won their individual battles. Even Smith, notwithstanding the goals, won more duels than normal.
Man of the match contenders:
Paterson: at his best with some gamesmanship thrown in.
Smith: two goals
Iorfa: a monster. At the level when we first got him. Those surging runs. Mugging Hugill near the end. This is the Iorfa we need week in week out.
But my vote goes to Musaba: a bit frustrating at times, but the first consistent demonstration of the pace that we expected when he signed. He should look for the pass more, but his pace was what gave the advantage.
Pleasure to see - made a big difference and created opportunity and space as result. Risky yea .. but is this the embodiment of Rohl allowing players to express themselves?
I got flashback to early days of Warhurst running through middle when he were a CD tbh!!
long may it continue (till we get exposed from it! Lol )

Had to laugh a little bit at Smith being awarded MoM, was that partly a Toytown wind up? Granted he scored 2 goals which is MoM form but I thought there were others that did more all round, eg I thought Iorfa was absolutely great today.
100% as there were a couple of Mexborough owls behind that as sponsored game today

From noises made so far prospective buyers can’t get to that point as they are being prevented from doing their own DD on the club.
This certainly changes things, you can’t not pay HMRC and then point blank refuse to discuss a sale.
He’s basically clinging on in the hope for a miracle that sees him leave without being seen as a failure and to minimise losses
AlL those stories come from fans who hate the owner and have done for a long time!

I guess my point is 1 is 1 too many - so is it 4, is it 7 either way its not a badge you want to own
But it’s a badge our owner wears on multiple occasions .. that’s my only hope currently .. it’s poor process and incompetence not the other things.
why turn interest down in cads? Why allow huge investments in coaches if no cash??

Well that makes it better 🤔
I mean I admire the loyalty to the owner. I fully subscribe to the view that if you actively agitate or plan protests seeking a change of owner then having a credible alternative is part of your obligations
But I really don't get any fan excusing Chansiri's running of the Club
Accuracy is important is it not ?
as is clarity- 1

That podcast in question also fall foul of decidedly edgy commentary when it comes to the owner as well.
Stalk and the protest group supported acts targeted at the owner nationality to chase him out of the club recently as well.
