We’ve been a bit sloppy but still the better side. Worried about the defence now though, Brown just isn’t a CB and Ihiekwe treading on eggshells. Makes you realise how solid Reece James is.
Won’t be an easy game this. They are not a bad side and will be well up for it. Add in our usual malaise in midweek home TV games and it might be a frustrating night. But we have seen with this team that they have a bit more backbone so I’ll go for a tight 2-1 win.
Fair enough, thought I’d seen somewhere that Diamond had tripped him or summat.
My earlier post has made me try to think when a player was last sent off against us and I’m genuinely struggling.
Am I right in thinking that James and Heneghan both basically got crocked by bad tackles? Even more unlucky than usual if that’s the case. Couldn’t possibly be red cards of course, pretty sure you could literally snap someone in half and not get sent off against Wednesday.
Which goes to show what they’re all about. A good, well run and well intentioned supporters’ organisation raises issues as necessary but also gives credit when it’s due.
That lot only have one setting, always have and always will.
We had much more quality than them but didn’t really make it count quite as much as we should. I guess that’s the kind of team they are though.
Smith gives us a different dimension up front. Heneghan was the perfect defender to have in that game. Ihiekwe is immense.
If it’s kids they will probably get away with it, more or less untouchable these days.
Always remember at that awful 4-1 defeat at Coventry in 2000 there were some blokes chucking stuff at the Cov fans. One came running in front of me then had to spend about 2 minutes rooting through his change for the coppers. By the time he’d found a few it had died down.

A couple of Wednesday connections in the Cov line up.
