If the fight happens at S6, it'll be quite the spectacle.

The fight in the arena outside the ring on Saturday will be spectacular 🤣

Potential to be a very very good fighter. Needs the step ups in class which is now happening. Will he become a world champ? Not sure yet, he’s a long way off world level but he has the tools to compete up there.

He’s going to end up fighting at Welter and Light Middle, he’s big for a light welter. Welter is stacked with some monsters. Light Middle less so.

Him v Conor Benn in the next two years would be a proper scrap.

Sheffields next World champion IMHO.

How many have we produced?

Naz

Nelson

Brooke

Woods

Silky Jones

Any more KM?

Kid Galahad is the only obvious one.

You could make an argument for Junior Witter as he based himself at Ingles gym.

Jamie McDonnell was under Dave Coldwell when he won the title.

Bomber, and Ryan Rhodes did indeed fight for world titles.

Galahad, I looked but cos he was born in the Yemen I didn't put it down.

Witter is from Bradford

I’ve put Witter and McDonnell down as fighters based in Sheffield when they won belts, and based on that, you could add even have a tenuous link to even Tony Bellew, AJ and even Carl Froch.

Hope he gets to fight at Hillsborough one day.

This. He’s a massive Wednesday fan and we’ve not had a huge event at our home for so long.

Bring it on

Bomber Graham used to pull pints in town. Can't remember the name of the pub now but he served me a few times.

He's from Nottingham

If Dalton's promoters asked for a licence for Hillsborough then SYP and the SAG would have a mutual wankfest while saying no.

All the safe exiting and safety problems previously highlighted would be wheeled back out and SYP would start crying about potential flare up points, instead of looking more about how they could police it better.

At the moment it's big cigars and handshakes all round as they congratulate themselves over the handling of the Women's Euros and how well they dealt with potential tantrums in the long queues for the face painting. There's no Sheffield derby again this season, unless we're drawn in the cup, so they're not going to spoil the status quo by authorising an unsegregated sporting event at Hillsborough.

Did Bomber Graham just have title fights but lost?

Also did Ryan Rhodes another Owl have a World Title bout?

Yes, Bomber fought for World title but never won it. Fighters used 2 avoid him because he was nearly impossible to hit. One of best to never win a world title

He got sparked by Julian Jackson, who is one of the hardest hitters in the history of boxing.

He did. Was well ahead on points if remember rightly. But that was one hell of a knock out

I think MPB is missing  (out injured) so i'd put Andyben in as a last minute sub. You can change me out for Paul from Wisewood as well.

I will rearrange the card accordingly.

@mkowl and @Emre can certainly be the round card holders.

For Ty

How does Tramlines get away with it?

If Dalton was fighting for a title with National attention surely  that would sway it a bit?

Tramlines is a multi channelled entertainment venue where there's no sport.

And there in lies the difference SAG will use. That and previous brawls at boxing matches such as Fury/Seferi in Manchester and Liam Smith and Anthony Fowler in Liverpool. Both large crowd arena fights.

They've allowed Kell Brook to fight at the Lane so can't really object

MPB has been busy getting married - was last Friday.

Bartos turned down the opportunity to be Page Boy.

Just watched it on DAZN, the Dalton Smith fight that is, not MPB getting married.  Not much wrong with that display, measured, patient, technically correct.  It was pretty close to a textbook display of how to deal with a Southpaw, setting up the straight right hand down the pipe.  Agree with KM’s earlier post about a step up in opposition being needed.  The remaining question marks about this lad can only be answered by getting in with better opponents.
