Said it in the other thread, but Myles Kenlock is exactly the sort of player we should be after.

Played under four different managers at Ipswich and every one of them brought another left back in to play in front of him. He even lost out to Matt Penney and got shipped out on loan to Colchester where he didn't exactly pull up trees and they've turned down the chance to sign him.

Looked decent in the championship a few years back, appreciate he's lost his way at Ipswich, but there's been a hugely toxic problem at that club for a few years now.

Andre Dozell and Flynn Downes were similarly viewed and both are now playing regularly in the championship. There's a player in Kenlock and maybe he just needs a fresh start to coax it out.

3 goals in 18 appearances for a left back isn't the worst return I've ever heard about, clearly he can attack and if we're continuing with wing backs he'd be better than the square pegs we've been using IMO

Sam Winnall released by Oxford United.

Could he…………

Could he fuck! 😂

If we continue to play the same way we have since Christmas then a player of the same style of Winnall would be advantageous. We need a willing runner with a bit of pace to hit channels and turn defenders round, which was exactly what Winnall was doing at Barnsley before Carlos killed his career.

Carlos didn’t kill career, he just wasn’t good enough for that level. Most of his success came no higher than L1, acknowledge he bagged a few in the first half of that season at Barnsley but it was hardly proving himself at that level was it?

Carlos didn't want either Winnall or Rhodes but was forced to play them together due to injuries to the others. They were just starting to gain an understanding of each other when Fletcher was brought back in and both of them were flung under the bus.

Must have left early that game when they were gaining an understanding of each other.. fletcher was brought back in as he was clearly better than the 2 of them put together

The signing of Winnall as backup to let's face it relatively injury prone strikers wasn't the worst piece of business given, as has been said, his scoring record that season was decent.

However, I think as we pretty much unanimously agree on here, Rhodes signature for the price and wages was a disaster, particularly if the then manager didn't want him.

At the time the money and wages spent on Rhodes could have signed the likes of Abraham on loan or similar without the same kind of upfront money, I'm guessing any PL prospect isn't having their wages paid for by the likes of Bristol.

Anyway all history now, the main hope is DC has learnt the lesson and is looking to build progressively.

3-0 win at home to Birmingham. Both scored and it worked. They looked good next game, against Blackburn, until Winnall was subbed for a knock.

Wigan away was where I first saw them looking like a decent partnership in formation.

So one game then🤔

First time they'd started together. They started against Blackburn and, again, the movement and understanding looked good but Winnall was replaced by Forestieri and that was the end. But you could see that there could be something there if they'd been given a run.
