You have to stop them playing, they have so much freedom Don't get why he has set up 4-2-4 away from home - get 2 defensive midfielders in there, protect our back 4. Quote

Andyben Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Maybe he's written it off and tries something different, like a training session Quote
KrolMong Posted March 16 Posted March 16 This is the first time I’ve looked at Rohl and gone ‘have you watched Ipswich?’ His set up amplifies all of the strengths of Ipswich. They’ve ripped us apart out wide, created overloads and allowed their forwards to drop in unchecked. It’s been a coaching error today. Its also not been helped by Gassama, Ugbo and Poveda being physically dominated and the ball not sticking when physical pressure is put on them. Very poor. Quote

KrolMong Posted March 16 Posted March 16 They are absolute country mile ahead of us in every single position and in every single department. What has really surprised me though is the sheer physical dominance they have showed, we know about the football they play and the front 4 they have. But, they’ve made us look like kids at times. This is the biggest physical battering I have seen us take for years. Some of our players don’t want it. 1 Quote
mkowl Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I am not sure why we don't stick with the 3 5 2 formation that has been the most beneficial. You simply can't play Ugbo, Gassama, Musaba and Poveda from the start - particularly when you have a very average midfield in Bannan and Vaulks. Worse bit for me is how far we are behind Ipswich Quote
KrolMong Posted March 16 Posted March 16 If we give Rohl time, and a bit of backing, that’s what we will be like. Mckenna is a top coach who has recruited to a style. Rohl seem to be that way too. 2 Quote
TheExile Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Suspect we were up against it anyway this week as Ipswich had a bad result last time out and it’s backlash time but had we scored that early chance and sat deeper we might have got something just the same as the Gassama Leeds chance. It’s just concerning we cant make life difficult for teams in terms of frustrating them when we need to. Surely today had to be about sitting deeper and counter attacking. Quote
owl4ever1867 Posted March 16 Posted March 16 They have outplayed us, out fought us and absolutely battered us from minute one. I take my hats off to Ipswich, they've been outstanding today and wonderful to watch. Quote

Why change from 3 5 2 Why put Iorfa at right back when Valentin being doing alright Lack of a midfield - Bannan looks finished Too many luxury players And really question Rohl today - it's alright trying to play football but you need the fucking ball Quote

The team has this in them as we saw at Huddersfield where they accept defeat and end up getting absolutely humped Quote

KrolMong Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Lord. It’s unacceptable to lose 6-0 to anyone. And after a defeat like that, there needs to be an inquest and some form of apology to the fans. Losing in that manner and not competing is not great for confidence with a critical run of games that are all must win. Quote
Owling_Wolf Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I can take the goals in the circumstances. What's scaring me is being told Poveda's injured his hamstring and wondering if Banan went off injured. Quote
owl4ever1867 Posted March 16 Posted March 16 As we stand 16th March. All isn't lost - we are still in this. Quote

His own included - you could see after 15 mins we were set up wrong, too open and I am all for playing football but you need players who can pass and hold the ball up to do so. It will either galvanise this lot or they will sink from here on in. Quote
TINK91 Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Think we can forget about needing goal difference in staying up 🙄 Fookin ell! Plymouth game has finished so above us stays about the same after the rest and we needed that today at least 😔😣 Quote
Owling_Wolf Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Only the Swansea result went against us today. Apart from our own. Quote
Billysboy Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Fucking shameful result that, but move on, we would all have taken still being a point from safety after playing leeds and Ipswich. 2 Quote

Thought we might have to take no points in the last two games going into March but the manner today has been a kicker. 8 games and thankfully no one above won. Hope today is a massive shake up Talk about needing to just put it behind them. 🙈 Quote
mkowl Posted March 16 Posted March 16 The only positive is we are still in touching distance. Worries me we have still to play Norwich and West Brom, on form footballing sides. Quote
Andyben Posted March 16 Posted March 16 As bad as today was, does anybody think we won't win 3 of the next 4? 1 Quote
mkowl Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Not checked if accurate but last time apparently we conceded 6 was Sept 2008 v Reading. Quote

Depends if Rohl goes back to basics and not think we can play Bannan in a 2 in midfield Be a blow if Poveda has done his hamstring - not likely to see him again this season if that is the case. But he doesn't seem to have grasped that 4 attacking players leaves us defending most the match, chasing shadows Quote
Hirstys 12th Pint Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Very poor result. Find it difficult to believe Rohl, Powell and Pederson have sat down and agreed how we set up today. As others have said have Ipswich not been scouted ? Quote
Reesh Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 17 minutes ago, Bronco said: Wait on. Rotherham scored 3 at their place. Ipswich usually concede goals. Why did we have to go down nil to 6. Let Rohl try to talk his way out of that but who would listen? Shut up **** Quote
