Well I guess if Nixon is suggesting it, those details probably rule us out......unless Fizz is on his way, although I would imagine we wouldn't get much if anything in view of his contract situation. Can Fizz sign a pre contract in January ? Quote

Andyben Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 Actually.... DC commuting upto £30k pw for a lab striker in January according to his article in th currant bun. Quote
Tank_Owl2,0 Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 Didn’t they ask DR about a big wages striker yesterday and he basically glossed over, which suggests it might be something they are working on Quote
Tylluan Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 £30k a week gets you Jamie Vardy on loan. Runs all day, plenty of pace, harasses and presses from the front, scores goals, fits in with our current standard of play. Just saying 1 Quote

Doesn't mean he's on 30k now, probably just the contribution Lester would want towards his wages Edited December 12, 2023 by Andyben Quote

That's half of Vardy's current wages after taking a dip due to relegation. I'm not saying Vardy would come, is coming, here but there's whispers that Maresca may be willing to let him go if he can find a younger replacement. Leicester certainly wouldn't loan him to a promotion rival but someone like Burnley, or even a West Ham, might take advantage of it's offered. But MLS is also an option. Vardy is 37 at the beginning of January and his contract is up at the end of the season. Maresca doesn't want Vardy to be bigger than the club, when it comes to the end of the season, and if he can find goals from elsewhere and allow Vardy to have a season or two in the MLS (starts in February) then he'll be off. Hirstys 12th Pint Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Vardy would be, I hate to use the word a massive lift for the club. He did not have a great game the other week at Hillsborough but watching the runs he was constantly making shows he has the appetite. Leicester's style perhaps does not truly suit him now. Quote
