  1. According to the excellent TW Football on twitter - Ugbo played with Musaba in Belgium, and scored goals in a team that used fast-paced wingers to supply the striker(s).
  2. Thinking about the psychology, the fact that we’ve never heard DR moan about injuries, the ref, the pitch or generally appear hard done to, must have a big effect on the mindset of the players. Win, lose or draw, DR’s spoken about the progress and the process, and always appears to be looking forward rather than feeling sorry for himself. The positivity of a first time manager versus the journeyman.
  3. Now the momentum is starting to build, better to say we’re only 13 points off 14th place.
  4. As a team performance overall, we definitely deserved a point tonight. Thought Iorfa, Bernard and Famewo battled well against a difficult forward line. I came away thinking we’d matched the top-of-the-league in a lot of key areas. Strangely though, I thought we also carried some real 5/10 performances from BB, Byers and Patterson, (although lovely cushioned header for the assist). Marvin didn’t even make 5/10. (Remember when he was the saviour?).
  5. 5 minutes still to play. We get a corner… and Dawson goes up for it. Gets nowhere near the ball and almost kills the game for us when they break. Stop it. Save the flapping for your own area and leave the goals scoring to the proper players.
  6. Meanwhile, over in Switzerland, bottom of the league FC Basel have scrapped their October goal of the month comp after failing to score a single goal throughout the month. Can you imagine that?!
  7. We’ve already moved stadium (from Olive Grove), changed name (from The Wednesday), and changed nickname (from the Blades). There’s even been periods when we’ve not had stripes on the home shirts. We’ve got previous - so what would we change again in return for being a well run organisation?
  8. That’s the difference between how chances are created at Championship level vs L1. There was a difference in our style of play last season vs Ipswich, and why they’ve adapted so much better - and ultimately scored more goals. My hope is that this can be coached and understood by the players, and it’s not just down to lack of ability.
  9. Unbelievable how quickly we seem to have gone from a national laughing stock to feeling like a forward thinking professional outfit.
  10. I like the fact that DR has been able to speak about all the new coaches, and outline what they’ll add to the team. You’ should expect that, but not always the case with the managers on the carousel dragging along their bunch of mates and hangers-on. XM brought his brother.
  11. Assistant Manager incoming - and it’s not Powell… yet
  12. Alex Miller in The St*r - “The first thing you notice about Röhl is an understated confidence. You’d say he gave off a vibe of a handsome bassist for a major Britpop band if Alex James wasn’t two decades older. Alex ❤️ Danny.
  13. Thought I’d go bin dipping and see what Stalk thought about it. Good grief. Half the posters on there are stuck somewhere between Allo Allo and Fawlty Towers. Do you think the Munich forums were the same when Harry Kane signed?
  14. There’s a good summary of what Danny Rohl offers on X/twitter from this guy.
  15. If it were Jan/Feb I’d get the call for Colin/Big Sam to do a rescue job and save us. But there’s still 36 games left. Surely we can set our sights higher at this stage? There must be someone that can make us feel like we’re taking a step forward (and I include stepping forward from Saint Darren too). Cooper took over Forest at the end of September, with them rock bottom, and got them up via the play off final same season. I’m not saying that should be our expectations but it must be possible to do more than just put the tin hat on and call for Colin. Plus - the d*ckheads from R*dio Sh*ffield seem to be pushing to get their mate Colin a job so they can all have a big laugh and get some great quotes. Which automatically makes it a no for me.
  16. Is this now the league equivalent of being 4-0 down after the first leg? Looking forward to miracle #2.
  17. Assume it’s already made the honours board.
  18. Drive up the bottom end of London Road last night and saw someone’s painted a giant Millie Bright mural (opposite the Albion). Don’t know if that’s just a Sheffield thing, or an S2 connection? She’s not magic, y’know.
  19. Agree. I think it was really important for the new manager to be a good man manager - and it feels like XM is that. For all his faults, DM seemed well liked, and last year’s squad have got enough challenges with the transition. To take a close-knit group, add in 10 new players and create a new culture is going to take some management.
  20. Over at S2… Ndiaye signed from Boreham Wood, (where I think they even speak English). In 2 seasons he’s dragged an average team into the prem and netted them a £20M fee. We’ll give our new signings 2 weeks then boo them when their name’s read out before kick off.
  21. Wonder if David Downes departure (and not being replaced), has a bigger impact on the season than Darren Moore’s departure?
  22. The powers-that-be on twitter linking us with Pol Valentin - Spanish right back at Sporting Gijon.
  23. The fact that Bilic has gone to Saudi, and not any of the other Championship clubs that have hired a new manager this summer, probably tells you all you need to know about his salary expectations. And possibly his abilities as a manager.
  24. A nice interview with XM that doesn’t include DC & DM Xisco - Coaches Voice
