  1. Neither do I. I was trying to say he could have done - and no me would have been critical. He could have ducked out with an eye on saving himself for his next contract. But - he seems to be prepared to put himself on the line for the cause. As a loanee - that gets top marks.
  2. If he played at QPR knowing there was a chance he might not manage 90 mins - then fair play to him. As a loanee, he’s certainly done enough to put himself in the shop window so could have easily have cried off. At a time when we’re worried about the application of some of our out-of-contract players… his commitment to the cause is noted.
  3. Some interesting stuff from the Manchester Evening News about his time at Man Utd, and his development under Danny Röhl & Henrik P. https://tinyurl.com/4rbbpjt8 (Hope this link copied ok?)
  4. No mention of Beadle yet - apart from time wasting. Thought that was his best game for us, including a couple of brilliant saves that looked certain goals. The one down to his left in the second half at 2-0 when L**ds we’re on top kept us in the game.
  5. At least he seemed to make his own mind up. Unlike the lino at last season’s Plymouth game who had to watch the replay on the big screen.
  6. Can understand the nervous last 20 mins - players and fans. When you look at that league table from 1st Dec, tonight wasn’t about 3 points, or even being a “relegation 6-pointer”. Winning tonight feels like the reward for 4 months hard work playing catch up. We’re still 23rd but finally on a level footing with the others. Game on! The 10-game mini league starts Friday.
  7. The only people wishing Colin had got the job now are Aberdeen fans 😁
  8. Once again, the club seems to have put itself in the middle of a minefield. Unless we’ve suddenly upped our PR game overnight, feels like it’ll be viewed a loss whichever way we go now. But if we’re playing top trumps with players with dubious backgrounds, can I have Nile Ranger and Jamie Vardy (I know).
  9. Alex Miller has now retracted his article - now saying he got it wrong and Dish’s 2 yellows don’t add to his tally.
  10. Just read - only 12 Championship managers been in post longer than Danny Röhl.
  11. One of the few times we’ve been in a position to apply game management away from home.
  12. Starting to look like a bottom 7, rather than 4. With another 3 teams who could get reigned in.
  13. DR ma DR made this point when talking about his meetings with Poveda pre-transfer. Said he could see it in his eyes that he wanted to be here, and that not all players want to join a team at the bottom of the league Both Macguire and Biereth said, after turning us down, that they would get more chances to score with teams higher up the table. Catch 22 - we need quality, but quality might not need us.
  14. January transfer window paying off - solid performances from Ugbo, Poveda and Beadle.
  15. Not sure if this should be in the Wednesday or non-Wednesday transfer thread - but an account of the Duncan McGuire dealings… why we lost out, (and why it looks like so will Blackburn).
  16. Maybe it’s an either/or? If Duncan is lured by the bright lights of Blackburn… we’ve got a backup plan.
  17. Curse of the FA cup. Last year it was the barcodes trying to get the ground closed for being unsafe. Now we have a new pantomime dragging our name in the mud. Can we opt out next year?
  18. The report said he was linked with us, Rovrum and Uddersfield. There’s every chance only one of those clubs is actually interested and they’re trying to generate a bit of urgency. “Do the deal now - or lose him to a relegation rival”. From the posts above - I hope it’s not us.
  19. Derby are offering a “significant contribution” whilst we have “excessive demands”. Interesting choice of words for a striker with 40 L1 goals in the last 2 seasons and 18 months on his contract.
