Liam Shaw….

The kid had ability and a chance to kick his career into another gear.

But, he decided he was already there and proceeded to toss it off, mostly in games where he, as a very well paid player never mind a so called Wednesdayite, should have been playing his bollox off to avoid relegation, that should be for any team that employed him, never mind his so called boyhood club.

But he didn't, so fuckhim.

He is upset at the reaction from the crowd on his return, GOOD.

He's made decent money and tbh that was the risk he took ie making himself wealthy, winning trophies, playing in the Champions League, vs being found out to be not good enough, being shipped out on loan after loan and ending up playing for a smaller club than he started with.

He'll be the top earner in that Morecambe dressing room by a distance and I really can't see what he's got to moan about.

65 mins of Europa League football. 210 mins of football with Motherwell and he couldn't even get a regular game with Celtic B in the Lowland League.

He'll never get a game at Celtic while Postecoglou is in charge and he won't get the wages he's on at Celtic if he moves.

The lad had/has talent but he only showed glimpses of it. Can't remember which game it was away from hoe when he played CH and brought it out like Beckenbauer and was spraying passes all over, but think it was lowly opposition.

Wouldn't get near our midfield now. Might at CH in our current injury situation

Exeter in the FA Cup I believe that game was.

Don't really understand why some have an issue about him going. Especially at a time where hardly anyone was being paid and morale within the side was at an all time low.

Not having a go at him, just highlighting that he made the wrong choice, and judging by those interviews he now realises it too.

He went almost 18 months without getting true game time. He picked up more money but he says himself that it affected his mental health.

The move was purely agent driven. He could have waited until the summer, still turn us down, and go somewhere where he could have been playing. It might have been a Morecambe type club (like Adedoyen at Accrington) but he could have started climbing from there. But he's 18 months into a four year contract so unless Celtic release him then he'll spend the next two and half years in loan limbo, just going from one club to another.

Maybe some of our other youths/ younger pros that might be pondering a move away should consider what the likelihood will be of playing regularly and being at a club with a good supporter following like ours before they take an Agents (money driven advice)?

No didn’t think so. However Shaw isn’t the first and won’t be the last.

As much as we are frustrated with DM, he does seem to have an idea of how to encourage the younger players, FDB might be the biggest one he has yet to get into his keepnet
